~Kibum~

Dearest Darlingest Diary

Hello,

It’s me, Kibum, again. I still haven’t figured out your name just yet, so I wanted to say that I’m sorry. I wanted to think it over when I had spare time today, but I didn’t, and I probably won’t until late tonight.

Around six in the morning, I shuffled out of the room towards the kitchen to get a glass of water when I noticed my roommate sitting at the dining room table complete with a cup of coffee sitting before him and a newspaper placed in front of his face. Seeing the familiar American lettering and layout pop out at me, I stopped and stared for what seemed like forever. I didn’t even snap out of it when the man reached around his paper to pick up his cup of coffee so that he could perfectly sip the hot liquid.

I must have made a sound or something of that sort—I really don’t know—because the man set aside his newspaper and greeted me with his perfect voice. Not knowing what to do, I had merely nodded in response and shuffled into the kitchen, too embarrassed that I was caught. I swear that I was standing there with my jaw hanging open.

After that little embarrassing moment, the others gradually began to wake up one after the other. After me, Kyuhyun and surprisingly Eunhyuk joined us at the table. The older one complained that he was woken up here and there due to the younger one’s loud snoring. (He snored? I thought I was a somewhat light sleeper, and I didn’t hear that…) After their little argument, Sungmin walked in, refreshed and ready to make the breakfast we were all waiting for while Donghae continued to sleep. No one really dared to wake the heartbroken one up until breakfast was ready. (And we put Sungmin on cooking duty after we tasted his first meal for us last night. I’m actually pretty glad that we have a cook in our house, because I’d rather not eat out constantly.)

In the middle of our morning meal together, the TV randomly flashed on. Poor Donghae freaked out at the occurrence since he’s terrified of the possibilities of ghosts hanging around, but we were instantly able to calm him down when Mr. Soo Man’s face appeared on the screen in what seemed like a video conference. I was actually confused by the whole thing. How could someone manipulate a TV like that? Did he specially program it before we moved in?

Anyways, he said that we needed to get ready ASAP so that we could complete a little mission that he prepared for us. During his description, he explained that our meet up destination was going to be at the closest beach at Six P.M. What is there to do at this time of the year at the beach? I didn’t understand in the least bit, but he continued on and split us into our roommate pairs. Once that was complete, he then gave us the list of missions that we needed to divide up between the six of us and needed to complete. What was that list, you may ask? Riddles. Riddles that we needed to figure out and gather so that we could successfully meet up at the beach tonight. And those riddles went like this:

1.         Find something that crackles and shines brightly in the night which gives those who hold it great delight.

2.        Discover the beauty of conquering multiple feats after devouring savory treats.

3.        Find whatever you deem fun to have whenever a gathering crosses your life’s path.

4.       Sip it once, sip it twice, sip it three times, and only then will the fun begin.

5.       What six things heal six individual hearts that have been broken?

6.       This captures life’s many wonders in a handful of clicks and shutters.

By that point, I wasn’t the only one confused. No, I was accompanied by four other men who were just as confused as I was. (Also, three of them weren’t even riddles. Who wrote them?) However, Siwon seemed as if he understood every single word the man on the screen uttered—like the perfect man that he is.

After the message, the TV switched off, making all of us jump in shock. All of us except for Siwon, that is. With that, we turned to each other and began splitting up the missions we were given. Sungmin and Kyuhyun instantly called out numbers two and four without consulting each other once. Eunhyuk called out number three and Donghae asked for number one, which left Siwon and I with numbers five and six. (Truthfully, I personally didn’t mind what we got. Each “riddle” seemed easy enough to complete.)

Figuring out what our missions were, we all rushed to get ready for the day that lay ahead. In the crazy rush, I unconsciously shoved you in my bag. I guess I’m slowly growing attached to you. (Don’t tell anyone else that, or else I’m dead.) When Siwon left me at a coffee shop that we had stopped at to figure out the presents for everyone so that he could go find a “present” for me, I dug through my backpack for a piece of paper so that I could brainstorm what present I should get in return for him. And with that, I found you which shoved every thought out of my mind as I grabbed you to relay the day’s information to you.

Anyways, I see his tall figure loping down the street with the perfect grin on his face, which means that I will have to end my entry for now. I wonder if the others have done half as much as the two of us have done. We already have the camera, figured out a couple of the presents for the others, and he supposedly now has my “present”. Oh right, what do I get him? Oh dear, I can’t believe that I forgot to think that through.

Until next time (and hopefully by that time I’ll have your name)! Take care, and wish me luck (for figuring out his present that is).
