Chapter 26- Questions
Rescue Me
There was loud thumping on the door. She thought she was dreaming. The door came crashing down. Amber was half awake. She saw
Jonghyun barging in heading towards them.
"Amber! Amber!" And that was the last thing she heard..
It was bright. The lights were blinding her. She heard a faint conversation by her side. It was a woman.. Seemed quite old, maybe
around her 30s to 40s. A young man was also talking, she was sure.. It was definitely Jonghyun. She sat up and Jonghyun came rushing
to her.
"How are you feeling?"
"Good. I guess? I don't really feel anything.."
"Well, the doctor informed me you were a little dehydrated but other than that.. You'll be fine."
"How's Key?"
"He's upstairs asleep.. He still has a mild fever. Want to go check him?"
Amber shook her head. "Maybe later.."
Amber had to stay for an hour longer after waking up to rehydrate. Something was off though, she was quiet. Taemin was left with her
while Jonghyun went to Key.
"You two are really his trusted side kicks aren't you?"
"Who? Me and Jonghyun hyung?"
"Yes.. Who else Taemin?"
"Well, you see I, Key hyung and Jonghyun hyung; our families know each other. We grew up together when we were kids."
Taemin was fixing some of Amber's things.
"Now I remember.."
"What is it Amber?"
"When we met for this company thing, I thought I've seen you before. You work at the shop where Key used to work at.."
"Yeah, with Kangin hyung."
"You were with him all along?"
"Well we had to maintain contact with him even if he went away for awhile."
"You know what, I don't get it.."
"What?"
"I should be mad at Key for hiding his true identity but I can't because I don't know the reason why he did it in the first place.
Do you know anything Taemin-ssi?"
"To be honest, no.. I don't know what happened. All I know was that after it, Key hyung decided to move away."

Amber had the I-V drip removed from her after getting enough hydration. Jonghyun came back several minutes ago.
"You want to see him?"
"Not yet. I'm not in the mood yet."
"Both of you were dehydrated. What happened back there?"
"It's a kind of funny story actually. But basically what happened was he was sick, we got locked in the fire exit until you found us."
"So nothing funny happened? Like you know.."
"No! He's sick for god's sake. Besides we're not like together or anything.."
"I was just asking.. I'll fix your bill. Be right back."
Amber then had a picture of last night in her head. She would love to have that night all over. Key held her hand so tight just like
before. She saw his face up close just like before. It was unconventionally intimate. She'd pay anything to have that everyday.
She just wished that Key could've listened to what she blabbered last night or maybe not. She was embarassed because of the fact
it had to happen in such an awkward situation.
Jonghyun went back to see Amber. "Where in the world did she go?"

She took small and frail steps making her way to the elevator. It was only when she was inside she realized she didn't know which floor
Key was staying at. The hospital wasn't high so she'll just check every floor. She went off the third floor where patient rooms started.
Looking at the bulletin by the nurses' station, no Kim was displayed. The next two floors were no luck as well. She checked the final floor
and found two Kims.
"603: Kim Jongwoo; 611: Kim Kibum."
Seeing Key was in room 611, Amber approached the room. She was about to open the door when she hesitated. can she talk to him?
Can she face him after what happened last night? This wouldn't have happened if she didn't drink last night, so basically Key being
confined was her fault. She took a deep breath and knocked. She peeked through the door and saw Key just sitting on his bed. It
seemed however that Key sensed her presence.
"Hey.."
"Hey."
"Come in."
Amber sat down on the chair near the lad's bed. She couldn't look him in the eye. She was embarassed on how she acted last night.
She can't help blame herself for letting Key get in such a situation. The boy looked obviously pale and tired.
"How are you feeling?"
"A lot better than last night. I was hit by a fever really bad. I didn't expect it to escalate like that.."
"Have you eaten? I could get something downstairs.."
"No.. I'm good. You? Why are you still here?"
It kind of struck her. Key's question seemed as if he didn't want her around.
"We were both dehydrated. The doctors held me temporarily to hydrate me again. I'm okay now. I just came to check you out.."
"There is some tea in the fridge. You can have some if you want.."
Amber then bowed her head. "I'm really sorry. This is all my fault. I always mess things up. I should've been more responsible with my
drinking last night. It's because of me that you're here. If only you were able to go home last night this wouldn't have happened.
I'm really sorry. Please forgive my carelessness."
"I'm okay now. Nothing bad really happened so you don't have to apologize. You don't have to say you're sorry Amber.."
Amber sprang straight up. It was sweet music to her ears. That word, she's wanted to hear if for so long, hearing it coming out of Key's mouth is ecstacy.
She covered as tears rushed out of her eyes.
"What's wrong?"
She just shook her head. "Nothing.. It's just."
"What?"
"My name..You said my name."
"Amber?"
The girl nodded. "You don't know how happy I am right now. I thought I'll never hear you say my name again.."
"Stop crying.."
"I can't! It's your fault Key.."
The two then laughed as Key continued on teasing Amber. Jonghyun was about to enter until he saw the two. He peeked to see what the
two were doing only to find out they were laughing to their hearts' content. He smiled and closed the door.
"Are you back Kibummie?"

And now EXO has debuted. It's kind of sad to see them be divided into two.. Again, SM and their money tactics. LOL. Anyways, going back to the fic. So, yeah.. They're back to first name basis. Not for long though..
