Chapter 13-Investor
Rescue Me
"Hey unnie. What's up?"
"Hey.."
"Woah.. What happened to you?"
"Let's just say I had this really bad dream. I can't sleep."
"Dream? Come on. Tell me."
"Well, not really a dream. It was more of a nightmare honestly. It was really creepy."
"What happened?"
"Well, I'm here in our condo. I was alone. It was dark. There was heavy rain and lightnings were the only ones that
illuminated the room. I heard a complete series of knocks on the door. I would go and answer it but everytime I would
open the door. I would wake up. Then everytime I would go back to sleep, it's just the same thing over and over.
I got freaked out so I wasn't able to sleep."
"That is creepy. But don't think about it too much! Brush it off."
"Yeah. Maybe I just had one of those days.. Though it's been some time since I had a bad dream."
"You have a client today right?"
"Yeah. I heard this one is pretty big, yet here I am all messed up."
"You'll be fine! I got to go unnie. Bye! Good luck on the new client."
"Thanks. Bye Luna. See yah."
--------------
She was running late. Amber somehow fell asleep on the counter top soon as Luna left. She and her client set the meeting
at around 10:00am but there she was almost an hour late. They were set to meet a coffeeshop the client asked for.
Amber arrived. The client is to wear a black trench coat. Amber noticed one immediately.
"Hello. I'd really like to apologize for being so late."
"No. It's fine. I had fun looking at the by passers." The woman said.
"Than.."
Amber just paused. The woman turned around. She was stunning. By stunning, REALLY stunning. Amber rarely meet such beautiful
women. Even back in the US, she has never met anyone like the woman. She had fine, pinkish skin. She had a really smooth
face as if she was a beauty product endorser. She had a full bang. She had pitch black eyes. Her hair was obviously dyed
into a hazelnut color.
"Please, take a seat."
"ahhh. Yes. Thanks."
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Liu?"
"Yes. It's Amber Josephine Liu. Just call me Amber."
"Okay Amber, I'm Song Qien. But I go by Victoria in this corporate world. Just call me Victoria."
"Yes. Uhm. Victoria? So, what was it that you wanted to talk about?"
"Ahh. It's about your business. I'm interested in investing in it but I want to see the condition of the store."
"When? Today? Sure. Come on. We could take a cab."
"No. Walking is fine. Come."
Amber was really intimidated around her. She wasn't scared. In fact, Victoria seems really friendly. She was more of
starstrucked on the beauty of this woman.
"We're here.."
Victoria entered the store. Amber just held her breath. It seemed as if Victoria really took her time to look at every
minute detail Amber's store had.
"The ambiance is really nice. I also liked how you segregated the dry goods from the clothing. Go on, tell me something
about your store."
"Ahh, well.. So far, my biggest investor is Etude House. They had set up a kiosk here about four months ago."
"How are the sales?"
"Sales have been great. Of course there are those few days where none of the products are bought but most of the time
I have to reorder supplies because the products are really in demand."
"You know Amber I was surprised you actually let me criticize your store."
"Mwo?"
"Most of my retailers are to make sure the deal is secured before they let me in on their store."
"Ah. Well, I don't really like that kind of system."
"Why?"
"Well, I believe the retailer and the investor should have this give and take relationship. The mere fact an investor
took interest to have their product sold at my store is more than enough of a compliment. I let them visit my store and
we talk things out like how the items would be displayed, which colors are to go together. I treasure my investors.
They are the reason I'm living quite comfortably so of course I put effort into sellingt their products."
"Well, Amber. It was nice touring your store. Here's my calling card in case you want to ask some things. Don't worry
I'll be calling."
"Okay Victoria. Thanks. I'll be keeping in touch."
"Sure. I've got to go Amber. See you."
They waved their goodbyes.
"Man, she's really pretty."
----------------
"She's a very unique girl. I think she'll be just fine. I like her in fact."
"Isn't that rare? You like her? Since when did you start liking retailers?"
"Today? I enjoyed talking to her. There is sincerity in the way she works."
"Then why not INVEST big time?"
"Ohh. Don't tell me."
"I'll think about it. You can go."
"Okay sir. I suggest you DO think about it. Bigtime."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amber got herself a potential client. You think she can close in on the deal? Stay tuned.
