Chapter 17- Reconciliation Part 1
Rescue Me
She didn't expect those words to come out of Henry's mouth. She always knew that Henry was a man of pride and
would rarely admit his mistakes. But apparently, he just did. She felt quite like a fool for accusing Henry
so quickly when apparently the woman she saw was his sister. Henry was telling the truth. Now that she
thought of it thouroughly, the woman was familiar. It was Henry's sister. She saw her in a picture quite long ago.
She ought to seek comfort by hearing Key's voice. She dialled the lad's number.
"Come on Key.. Answer your phone."
"Yeobosaeyo?"
"Oppa?"
"Amber? Hey."
"Hey oppa. I know you're at work. Sorry for disturbing you..But I just wanted to hear your voice."
"No. It's fine.. Your voice is trembling. Did something happen?"
"Ahh, no.. Nothing. It's ughh. Well, of the whole speaking in front thing. It was kind of nerve wrecking."
"Kibum! Hurry up." Amber heard a voice speak to Key.
"I'll be there." he shouted.
"Aigoo. Sorry oppa.."
"No. It's okay. I can't talk for quite long right now so let's talk later.. I'll be calling you. Around 8pm?"
"Okay oppa.. I'll wait for it. Bye."
"Bye. Look, relax Amber. I miss you already. Love yah!"
"Bye oppa. I miss you too. Love you."

Amber certainly needed to hear Key's voice. Her heart kept beating fast the whole time she was talking to
Henry. she just wanted to walk the hell out of that awkward situation. Also, the mere fact she was actually
asked by Henry for lunch scares her. She texted Henry to reject the offer.
To: Henry
From: Amber
Hey. I'm sorry. I'd prefer to spend the afternoon sleeping. I'm quite exhausted. Eat lunch without me.

To:Amber
From: Henry
How about dinner? For old times' sake? It's not like I would do anything to you. Please?
---
Amber was hesitant. She can't give an answer right then and there.
To:Henry
From: Amber
I'll think about it.

Amber then spent majority of her afternoon sleeping. The sea breeze from the open windows kept her at ease.
At least for now.. She was thinking deep and hard. She kept pacing in her room. She was uneasy. she then faced
the mirror.
"Amber, what the hell is wrong with you? Why are you still scared of Henry? You have Key now right?
You said yourself that you can face anything when Key's got your back. Why let Henry scare you?
It's been months, you don't love him anymore right? Come on.. Maybe for old times' sake. Perhaps it's
time to reconcile? Neh? ARRGGGHHH!"
She then dropped herself on her bed. "This is hopeless."
Her cellphone then beeped..
To: Amber
From: Henry
So? Dinner? I need to catch up on you.

she bit her bottom lip. She closed her eyes. She typed.

To: Henry
From: Amber
Okay. But I can't stay long. See you at the hotel restaurant at 7pm.
---
To: Amber
From: Henry
All right. See you.

7:00pm came and Amber was still changing in her room. She wore a nice top and pants fro dinner. She then
saw the heart pin Key gave her. She placed it near her collar. "Perfect."
She headed downstairs and saw that Henry was already waiting.
"Sorry I'm late."
"Ahh, no no. It's fine. Please, have a seat."
A moment of silence followed.
"Okay this is awkward." Amber spoke.
"I know. Aha. It's been so long since we last saw each other."
"Uhh, so why are you here if you are still promoting?"
"Ahh, well the company gave us a week for break. I'll be returning to mainland Korea soon after."
"I see. So how are your members?"
"They've been good actually. One of them, the dating ban has been lifted since he's nearing his 30s,
though I highly doubt he didn't date."
"Yeah. I think he dated too."
"So, I heard your business is going really well?"
"Ahh, yeah. I got a big account lately from Etude House. They're selling really well."
"Wow.. Good for you."
Henry then noticed that Amber still eats on her plate in a weird manner.
"You still eat circularly around your plate?"
Amber almost dropped her fork.
"You noticed?"
"Yeah..Ever since."
"I've never told it to anyone.."
"I just observed it since a few years back. And I noticed you still eat quite messily."
"I do not!"
"Yes, you do. Look at your face.. The pasta sauce is all over it."
"Really?" Amber then wiped her face and Henry was right,sauce was all over her face.
"Well, you're lame for not eating your vegetables! You never grow up."
"What? I ugh. I eat my vegetables!"
"Prove it then."
"what?"
"Prove it. Eat that brocolli on your plate."
Henry stared at the brocolli long and hard. He then looked at Amber who gestured go ahead. He stuck his fork,
put it in his mouth and started to chew. But halfway on chewing he spat the brocolli right out..
"Ewwww." Amber remarked.
"Okay, you win. I still can't eat my brocolli."

Key dialled Amber's number. It was midnight when he tried to call since he came home quite late from work.
This is Amber, please leave a message..
"Mwo? Answering machine?"
He dialled it again but still only the answering machine answered. He did this several times but paused
thinking that Amber might be asleep. He only started it again when it turned 12:30am.
He kept this on for several minutes until it was already quarter to one. He was really sleepy.
"Amber? Why aren't you answering my calls? Where are you?"
Thinking Amber would just call back, he went to bed placing his cellphone beside his ears so he can wake
when she calls.

They laughed. They then started to talk about their past and kept laughing about it. They also kept teasing
each other about the flaws of one another and whether they were finally able to fix it. Time quickly passed
and Amber decided to call it a night.It was past 1:00am then.
"Henry, I got to go. It's late and I still have a talk tomorrow."
"You have to go now? Are you serious?"
"Yes. Look it was fun. But I'm really sleepy. Thanks for the dinner."
"Okay.. I'll listen tomorrow on your talk okay?"
"Seriously?"
"Yes, I'm serious."
"Okay. Fine. Bye.."
"Bye. Good night."
Amber made her way back to her room. She had a smile on her face. She didn't expect that she would turn out
to have a great time with Henry that night. She realized that it's time to let go of things since things
turned out for the better for the two of them. She was happy because she's alright with Henry now, her business
is doing really well and Key loved her.
She paused. She felt her pocket. That's when she only realized she left her phone in her room.
"Ohh shhh.. He was going to call me!"
She rushed to her room and immediately looked for her phone. It was near her side table in her bedroom.
"23 missed calls?? Aigoo.. Why do you have to be so stupid Amber?!"
Key also sent a text message.
To: Amber
From: Key
How was your day today Ambeo-yah? Did you have fun? I've been calling you but you're not answering.
You must be asleep. Call you tomorrow, yeah? I miss you. Come home soon. Love you.
Amber could just slap herself in the face. It was stupid of her to forget her phone but she can't tell
that she was with Henry.
To: Key
From: Amber
Oppa! Sorry. I was asleep and my phone wasn't beside me. I'll wait for your call tomorrow. Love you!
She bit her bottom lip. That was the very first lie she ever told Key.

Another update.. Henry and Amber are finally on good terms. She finally decided to forgive him since
everything is over for them anyway. Besides she also got Key already.. :) Aigoo, but the girl lied.
