Chapter 12- Dissemination
Rescue Me
You could consider her to be the happiest girl on Earth. Once again in her life she felt she was
safe. She felt special and that someone needed her. You can never wipe a smile off of her face.
A mere thought of him insider her mind would definitely make her grin. There were instances when she's
riding public transportation that a random thought of him would make her giggle.
"You know unnie, sometimes when I look at you when we take the bus? You would just do this weird creepy
smile as if you thought of something."
"Weird? It's not weird. I'm just happy that's all.."
"Happy? Why is it because of Key oppa? How are you two lately? It's been almost two months since I last
set you two up at Everland."
"Us? We're okay. Friends.."
Amber can't hide a smile. Luna immediately perceived the thought.
"Oh my gosh! You're not telling me something!"
"Mwo? What are you talking about?"
"That smile! I know that smile. I've seen it before.."
"I'm not smiling. Luna, cut it out.."
"Aigoo, you two are together aren't you?"
"What? Noo.."
"Don't lie to me! I know you unnie.. Come on! Spill it."
Luna then started tickling Amber.
"Fine fine! Ahaha. We are together. Happy?"
"How long has it been?!"
"We're nearing our second month.."
"Are you serious?! Second month and you haven't told me? You're so unfair!"
"I'm sorry. But you've been so buys with university so I can't find the right time to tell you."
"Argh! Now it's my fault! Well, details. Give me details! Have you two kissed yet?"
"Well, of course. It would be weird if not."
"Who kissed who first?"
"Can we not dig in to SUPER details? Ahaha."
"Err. Fine. So don't you two have a date or something today?"
"Today? Nope. He's busy working lately. Perhaps to make up for the amount he spent when we first went out.
But he calls frequently so I don't mind."
"You know unnie?"
"What?"
"I still can't figure how he was able to afford that dinner. It's insanely expensive there. Besides,
as far as I know, they only accept credit payments."
"Really? I didn't know that."
"Nevermind! I've got to go. I've got class. Bye unnie."
"Bye."
"Oh, unnie. Your chicken, seems toasted! See yah!"
"Chicken? Ohh sshhhh.."
Amber ran straight to the oven. She was actually baking stuffed chicken for Key. He plans to bring the
lad some lunch to lessen the expense on food for that day. Thankfully only a certain portion got burnt.
"Aigoo. I almost forgot this. Err."
She prepared a really cute lunch box for Key. She placed rice on one side and all the viand on the other.
She also placed several pieces of kimchi to serve as a side dish. Key loved spicy dishes a lot. Thus, she
also lathered the chicken with a little bit of gochuchang (Red pepper paste), basil and thyme.
"Woah. So pretty.."
She checked the time. It was almost 10.30am. She started to hurry up because they were set to meet in
about an hour.Key got a job at a local restaurant several blocks from their house. Amber came in no time.
Thankfully there was no traffic for that day.
"Oppa?"
"Oh. Hi! You must be Amber? Hello. I'm Key's boss, Kangin. I just asked him to run a few errands. He'll
be back in a bit. Please, take a seat."
"Ahh.. Yes. Thank you."
Amber had to wait for 25 minutes before Key was able to arrive.
"Boss, I got what you.. Amber?"
"Hi oppa. I brought you lunch."
"Aigoo. Sorry for making you wait. Boss, can I ugh?"
"Yeah.. Sure. Take your lunch break. Have fun."
"Thank you!"
Amber and Key headed outside of the restaurant to eat.
"You could've texted me. I would've walked faster."
"I did! But seems you didn't check so I came anyway."
"Thanks for taking the time to bring me food. I'm really hungry."
"I made you stuffed chicken. Hope you like it."
"Woah! This is more than enough. Thanks Amber."
Key then gave Amber a kiss on the lips as a thanks.
"This is really good."
"Glad you like it oppa."
Amber stared at Key the entire time he was eating. A question then suddenly popped in her head.
"Oppa, please don't take this offensively but how did you manage to pay the reservation at Namsan?"
Key then almost choked on what he was chewing.
"Aigoo. Sorry oppa."
"No. It's fine. Why ask?"
"Nothing. It's just that I don't want you over working yourself."
"It's nothing. I just asked for an advance with my salary then I had some saved money with me."
"But don't they only accept credit?"
"Who said that?"
"Luna."
"That's not true. Of course they accept cash."
"Okay. Sorry for asking.."
"Nah. It's fine."
They bid farewell soon as Key finished eating. He had to go back to work asap since he's got several hours
left for his shift that day. It was past 9:00pm when Key was able to finish his job.
"Thank you boss! I'll be going."
"You know, you don't have to call me like that all the time."
"But.."
"She can't be ignorant about it forever.."
"yeah. I'm aware."
"I can see it. You're really happy when you're with her. Treasure her."
"I am EXTREMELY happy when I'm with her. Don't worry. I will. Gotta go. Bye!"
"Bye."

I know Kangin hyung, but it's best that way.
Key arrived home.
"Halmeoni! You still up?"
"Kibum? Yes."
Key heaved a heavy sigh.
"What's wrong Kibum? Is something bothering you?"
"Nah. It's nothing halmeoni."
Key's grandma then cupped the lad's face.
"You practically grew up under my care and I know when something's bothering you. Now tell grandma what it is."
"Kangin hyung is right halmeoni. But I really think it's best like this. Nothing would change anyway even if
I tell her."
"But she is special to you right? And you trust her? You love her?"
"I love her deeply Halmeoni. After so long in my life I was able to open up for someone. I trust her so much."
"Then wouldn't you agree with the idea?"
"Still, I've got to think about it. Good night Halmeoni. It's been a tiring day."
"Okay dear. Goodnight."
