Chapter 20- Kiss and Make up?
Rescue Me
It is all a blur for Key. He was angry. He was confused. He didn't know what to do. He didn't expect to see such photos
of Amber appear on his front door right at the moment he misses the girl so badly. He went home that night crying.
He was disappointed because of all the people, Amber was the last person he thought that could lie to him like that.
Key went straight to his room. He stood there and looked around and saw the pictures of him and Amber on their dates.
He threw them everywhere and made a mess of his room. Key's grandma on the other hand heard what was going on and went to
the lad's room.
"Kibum?"
Key was shouting.
"Kibum?! What's wrong?"
"I don't get it halmeoni.. Whhy?!"
"What happened my dear? Hush now. I'm here. Calm down." The woman said as she hugged her grandson.
"It's Amber.. She lied to me."
"What do you mean my dear?"
"She was with Henry the entire time in Jeju.. I saw their photos halmeoni. I asked her personally and she said it's true!
She lied to me! She didn't tell me anything. I was here in Seoul, waiting for her to come back and there she was fooling
around with her ex?! I don't get it.."
"Did she explain?"
"No.. I didn't want to hear it. What I saw there, it was enough.. I'm tired halmeoni.. I'm tired of people betraying me."
"Kibum!! You should me ashamed of yourself!"
"Why?! Why should I?!"
"You didn't listen to her explanation and here you are crying to me? Look dear, she must've had a reason for not telling you
immediately. I bet she was scared and she didn't want to hurt your feelings. Perhaps she has decided to forgive the man..
Can't you see it my dear? She could've denied everything but still she spoke the truth. What if she was just speaking to
the man all along and nothing happened? Photos are photos but they never tell the whole story don't they? Now I suggest you tidy
yourself up and talk to her tomorrow. You were being irrational my dear.."
"It seems you defend her more than you actually care for me.." he pouted.
"Oh stop it! I care for the both of you. But what you did was unfair on her part..Now rest and make it up to her soon!"

Key was finally able to calm down but he still can't deny that there was still this disappointment with what Amber did.
However, he came to realize that his grandma was right. He should've tried to listen and not let his anger take over him.
It was unfair for Amber. He was about to lull himself to sleep until a phone call woke him up.
"Kangin hyung? Yeobosaeyo?"
"Kibum?"
"Yes? What is it? Can't you see it's almost past midnight? What's up boss?"
"I told you to stop calling me that! Anyway, erghhmm. I have a message for you."
"Hmm?"
"To be honest, this kind of surprised me especially it came from.."
"From?"
"Well, you see he said that..."
Key listened well.
"Are you serious? He told you that?"
"Yeah.. Just give me a call if ever.."
"Okay hyung.. Thanks."
He put his phone down. He bit his lip. It was evident.. Key was puzzled.

Amber was all alone at home.. She wasn't able to get proper sleep because of the whole incident with Key the previous night.
She found it unfair of Key to not listen to her explanation but she couldn't really blame him. He was right. At the end of the
day, she still lied in his face which was wrong. She could've just been honest in the first place. She her TV to
try to avert herself from those thoughts temporarily.
"News flash? Are you serious?"
She listened anyway.
"Reports have been flying around that the wealthy businessman Mr. K has an estranged child from his first marriage. It is known that
Mr. K married a french-korean national several years before but it was never reported they had a child. Even after his first
wife's death, no news emerged that she bore children so the general public is speculating whether he has been found or was he lost
all along. Since Mr. K has been reported to be in bad health lately will this child of his inherit his fortune since his second
marriage bore no children? We will keep you updated. This has been Lee Minkyung."
Amber didn't really care but she was surprised that Mr. K actually had a child. She turned her tv off. Loneliness still consumed
her. She wanted to talk to Key. She wanted to make things right.. She headed for her phone and dialled his number.

"Kibum? Is that you? Why are you home only now? I thought you will talk to her?"
"I'm going to lie to you, myself and to her if I could tell her I can forgive her now. I'm still disappointed with what she did."
"I understand dear..Also, Kibum, you seem to have left your phone. Check it. I've heard several beeps when I came home from the
market.."
He enabled the answering machine function of his phone because he has anticipated that Amber may call several times and he
didn't want it to bother him too much. He received the voice message.
"Oppa?"
It was Amber..
"I know you wouldn't want to see me or hear my voice right now.. But I wanted to call you anyway. Remember the first time we met?
It was that bridge near your place right? You know I was dead drunk but I remember to myself thinking who is this guy trying
to stop me? I actually stared at you from head to toe and thought what ugly fashion sense you have.. Then again you offered to help
me and even gave me the most wonderful tasting tea I've had in my life. I'll never forget that. That moment we had on that bridge..
I'd always go back to that memory. About the whole Henry thing, I don't really have an excuse to tell you. We met up at the hotel
I was staying at. He was there for a vacation. The afternoon I called you when my voice was trembling? Prior to that I actually
met him. I was scared to talk to him. I was scared that everything would just flash back.. You know what? I was wrong. The
whole time he was talking to me I kept on having thoughts of you. Then I thought to myself, perhaps it's time for me to forgive
Henry. Because I know I have you.. But then again, you were right.. I should've not lied to your face. It was stupid, selfish and
idiotic of me.. But I was scared. Scared that you wouldn't understand and would leave me. I'm scared of being left behind yet I
did such a stupid thing. I'll understand if you want to leave me.. But.. But please, let me see your face even for the last time?
I don't want to give up on us. But I love you too much to stop you from making a decision. I'll be waiting oppa. No matter what,
I love you.."
Key put his phone down after listening to Amber's voice message. He didn't notice but his grandmother was there the entire time
by the door. He removed his shoes and laid down on his bed and covered himself with his blanket. He slept without speaking a word.

It had been two days since Amber called Key. She has accepted that it was over for them because of what she did. She can't blame
the boy. He had been locking himself and stopped trustung people and when he finally trusted someone there she went and broke it.
"You are a stupid stupid girl Amber.." She said.
She tried to drink her problems away. She went to the bar where she usually went to when she had problems with Henry.
She didn't really talk much to Minho and Krystal was on leave because she's already in her third trimester. Minho didn't bother
to ask questions as well. All he know was Amber was going through a rough time. Even worse than her ordeal with Henry.

Key just came home from work. Still silent about the call the other day, he just sat there at the living room.
"You could go to her if you want to, you know?"
"I'm the stupid one. I let my emotions take over me. I always felt that I was the only one getting hurt but I can't bear the thought
of seeing Amber agonize because of what I did. I saw her how miserable she could get and I don't want her to experience that again.
Not because of me. I should go get her halmeoni.. Before it's too late."

It was past 9:00pm and Amber went home. Luna wasn't home again. She was drunk. She was crying.
"Why does my life always have to be so miserable?"
She heard a knock on her door. She went to answer it and surprised to see who was there..
"Hey."
"Henry? What are you doing here??"
"Are you drunk?"
"No! Come on in.."
"What's up with you? What happened to you?"
"Me? What's up with me? Nothing. I'm fine. I'm swell!"
"You need to sober up."
"Nah.. I'm good, all I need is a good sleep. Can you?"
Right before Amber could finish her sentence Henry grabbed her and kissed her. Being in her state, it took her a while to
process that what they were doing is wrong. She pushed Henry away..
"Henry this is.."
Shattering of glass was then heard by the door. It was a bottle of wine that broke..
"Kk-Key?" Amber stuttered..
Key stood there for a good minute before he started running away..
"Key!! Key wait up!" Amber was already in tears.She reached for the door but Key was already out of sight.
She then turned around and rammed towards Henry..
"You knew he was coming??"
"I saw him in the flowershop downstairs. I knew he was going to make it up to you. Amber, I still love you.."
"Love me?! You know how miserable I am because of what has happened?! Look at what you did! If you really love me, you would
just leave me be!"
Henry stood up and reached for Amber but the girl pulled away.
"Get out of my goddamn face. Now! I don't to ever see you again Henry. Ever! Please.."
Henry stepped out of the condo in tears.. Amber went weak on her knees thinking she could've taken things back.

It had started raining hard. A thunderstorm actually struck the city. He kept on running and running until he was too tired.
He started walking slowly. Few people can be seen on the streets, what he witnessed up there was too much to bear. He no longer
wanted to listen to anybody. His heart was more broken than ever. He wasn't sure whether those on his face were tears or just rain.
He then just stood still under a waiting shed, thinking. He then reached for his pocket and brought out his cellphone. He dialled a number.
"Hyung, I'll take the offer."

Amber and another accident.. Though she didn't really intend for it to happen. Key just had bad timing entering into the scene like that. Key wanted to fix things already but his heart is really broken. What do you think he'll do now? Revenge? Take his anger out on Henry? What? feed me with thoughts.
