Chapter 9- Merrily
Rescue Me
It was the most glorious sleep she had in the last three months. She opened her eyes and a smile was
immediately planted on her face. She remembered "that" scene last night. Her heart kept beating fast
and she blushed just by the thought of it. Indulging in her thoughts she barely noticed that Key was already
cooking breakfast for the two of them. She rushed out of bed.
"Oppa!"
"Oh. Hey Amber. Sorry I invaded your fridge. I couldn't really find anything so I just cooked bacon and eggs..
Would it be okay?"
"Oh yeah. Of course. Anything would be fine."
Amber just stared at Key the whole time the lad was cooking.
"I might become like these bacon strips. I'll be fried and toasted if you keep staring at me like that."
Amber just lowered her head in embarassment.
"All done. Go and dig in.."
"You know? For a guy you cook really well. You could cook bacon better than Luna.."
"Really? Well thanks."
"Where did you learn to cook anyways?"
"I learned cooking from grandma. She started teaching me ever since I was young."
"I see. Halmeoni is really a great woman."
"She is isn't she?"
"Did you tell her where you are?"
"Yeah. I called her last night."
As soon as they finished eating, Amber grabbed the dishes to wash them.
"I really enjoyed the breakfast. Thank you..(silence)
So oppa, what did halmeoni say when you told her you'll be staying over?"
"She didn't say anything really. She just said I should be careful that's all."
"What time will you be going back?"
"Well it's already 10am. Maybe past 12 noon I guess?"
"Okay."
Amber smiled. She was glad to know that they would still have time to spend with each other.
"Oppa, I'll just go downstairs to fetch something."
"Okay."
Amber lied. She will go the the nearest store to buy Key some clothes. The lad didn't have spare clothes
with him when they went home last night.
The saleslady at the store she entered stared at her. She quickly grabbed a pair of undies, pants, shirt
and a few accessories. She wanted Key to look "modern" for once.
When she came back she was surprised to see that no one was longer there.
"Aigoo. He left already? But it's not yet even 11am."
Amber feeling a little disappointed decided to just go back to sleep to let the disappointment pass.
But as soon as she entered her room, she saw a half Key, covered just with a towel walk out
of her bathroom. She immediately fled out of her own room to avoid further witnessing the sight.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so so sorry. I shoudld've knocked."
"No! I should be sorry. I shouldn't have used your bathroom without telling you."
A short moment of silence followed until Amber remembered she bought some clothes for Key.
"Oppa, I bought you clothes! Please use them."
She slightly opened the door and threw the plastic bag into the room.
"I'll be at the living room. Please, take your time."
Key did take his time. It took him almost half an hour to fix himself. A time quite long for a guy.
"I'm sorry. I had to fix a few bits with the clothes you bought me. The pants were too long so I had to cut them."
Amber was facing her back from Key..
"It's fine. May I..."
"OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG" That's what kept running inside Amber's head. Key looked hot hot hot with the clothes
she bought.
"Wow. You look.. good."
"Really? Thanks."
Amber then fixed herself after.
"Amber these clothes, really.."
"Please wear them." Amber replied as she was fixing her hair.

"Come on."
"Where are we going?"
"Well, I was wondering if you would like to eat out for lunch with me. Then we'll buy something for halmeoni
later on."
"Aigoo. This is too much.."
"No! Come on. Let's go."
Amber had to drag Key to have the boy actually agree for them to eat out for lunch. She brought Key at a
semi fine dining restaurant, hoping to impress the lad. But for some weird reason, Key seems accustomed to that
type of place.
"Is this a semi-fine dining restaurant Amber?"Key asked as they entered the resto.
"Well, not really. Didn't you see the facade? It looks nothing like some fancy restaurant." She lied.
"You're lying. It's obvious it's a semi-fine resto. Look at all the silverware. Look! That table is even
missing a pair of salad forks and soup spoons."
Amber was impressed. She never met a guy who actually pays attention to such details.
They ordered their food and Amber watched Key as they ate. She smiled. Key was really peculiar in which
ones to use for each course.
"You know, I haven't met a lot of guys that know their silverware unless they are from high end or well-off families."
"Mwo?"
"You seem to know a lot about fine dining oppa."
"Ahh. Well.. I ugh. Learned it from school.. Many years back.. Don't you have that in the US?" Key answered stutterly.
As soon as they finished, they bought Key's grandma a pair of cotton non-slip slippers best used inside the house.
"You think she'll like this?" Amber asked.
"She loves anything that comes from you. Halmeoni really likes you a lot. In fact she said we should get
together.."
"Mwo? Sorry? What was that oppa?" Amber asked. She really didn't hear what Key said, she was too busy
picking out designs.
"Aish.. Nothing!" Key was obviously blushing.
Amber was finally able to pick out a pair and they headed to Key's place.
"Halmeoni, I'm back."
"Kibum? Is that you?"
"Neh! I'll be there in a bit."
"Hey, Amber why don't you come in?"
"As much as I want to, I can't."
"Whhhy?"
"I had this sudden business meeting with a client of mine. Please tell Halmeoni I'm sorry and may she accept
my gift as a sign of apology."
"Apology for what?"
"For not letting you go back last night.."
"Jah! She was fine with it."
"Still! I've got to go. Bye oppa!"
"Bye. Take care of yourself."
Key turned around. Amber looked from left to right and called Key.
"Oppa!"
"What is..."
Amber stole a kiss from Key. The boy blushed big time.
"Aish, what was that for?!" He said while covering his face.
"Consider it as a thank you gift. Thank you for accompanying me.I needed it, big time."
"You could've just thanked me directly you know?"
Amber laughed it off. "I'll be going oppa. See you tomorrow??"
Key was still tomato red from the kiss. "Yeah. Tomorrow.."
And so she left; merrily and happily she skipped her way back to the station.

Amber you mischievous chick! Key seems to have finally loosened up around Amber.
And dang, does he know his silverware.. Any requests for the next chapter? :D
