“Do you know where they are?” Suho asked, irritation dripping in his tone.
Taemin sighed, pulling his fingers along his fringe. “He’s still in the palace, more specifically, the cells.”
“WHY DIDN’T YOU GET HIM THEN?!” Kai demanded.
Ara protectively placed her arm around Taemin, shooting Kai a look of dismay. “Kai, don’t talk to him like that.”
Kai rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”
They’ve been acting like this since she woke from the dead.
Stupid ogling.
Spew-worthy words like ‘baby I love you’ or ‘I miss you already’ if one of them were to depart to the toilet for a short time.
Unstoppable loads of aegyo.
They’ve been attached to the hip since then and it irked Kai off a smudge but he chose not to protest against their relationship. They were mates after all.
Kai sat down on a bench connected to the wall, beside D.O. D.O immediately shot up from his sitting and wedged between Chanyeol and Baekhyun who sat on a hay pile. Kai watched him with guilt-ridden eyes. He still needed to apologise for being insensitive, mentioning his dead family in an argument they shared quite some time ago.
It had been a whole night and a couple hours since the pack last seen Sehun. They were becoming nervous and tired. Thankfully, Taemin snuck into the palace and over-heard some guards chatting about Sehun being locked up in one of the cells reserved for dangerous criminals.
Now, the pack was settled in an inn not too far from the palace. The owner was a young man whom was half coyote and wolf, which was surprising as the two races never mingled in that way before.
He kindly offered them a place to stay for the night since they all looked beaten down and weak to their toes.
Kris and Tao had accompanied them to the inn, assessing everything like magnifying lenses. They were surrounded by unfamiliar people and he didn’t like the vibes streaming from them.
“We need to find a way to get inside and free Sehun.” D.O said.
“How about Chaeyoung?” Tao spoke, earning some uncomfortable glimpses from the others. He scoffed in offense, “You are kidding me.” He sarcastically bit out.
“Who is Chaeyoung?” Ara questioned.
“No one important.” Suho snapped. Kai growled at the Alpha, catching him off-guard. “She is someone important.”
Suho quirked his brow, daring him to continue defying him. When Kai dropped his gaze, a triumph smirk pitched upon Suho’s pink lips. “She concerns none of us. She betrayed Sehun and the kingdom.”
