Chapter 68

False Awakening

Opening his locker, Taemin was happily surprised by the two arms that s around his waist, the chest that pressed against his back, and the chin on his shoulder. “Hyung…” A younger boy sang into his ear.

“Jongin, shouldn’t you be heading to class like everyone else?” Taemin asked, only stopping to retrieve a forgotten textbook.

“I was until your beautiful face distracted me.”

“Well maybe you should go back to what you were doing now.” He teased, closing his locker with one hand as he spun around, leaning against it.

“Ah, maybe I will if I get a kiss.”

“A hit to the face might get it done faster.”

“I love you.” Jongin laughed, kissing Taemin on the cheek before stepping back and blending into the crowd. The elder’s eyes followed him until his head no longer stood out among the students, humming while fingertips ran over the place where lips met skin.

Adjusting his bag, he was shocked once more when he heard ‘I was until your beautiful face distracted me’ repeated in a mocking tone by another voice before an exaggerate kiss marked his other cheek. Stumbling over, he maintained his balance by grabbing onto the attacker.

“Jiyong, what are you doing?! I’m going to fall!”

“Sorry, just so, you know, distracted by your beauty.”

“Stop it…” The brunette pouted.

“That’s cute.”

“Why are you bothering me?”

“Why are you so disrespectful towards someone older than you?”

“Because you’re annoying.” Taemin mumbled underneath his breath.

“Excuse me?”

“Nothing.”

“What did you say?”

“Nothing.”

“Spit it out!”

“I said you’re annoying!” He shouted in a volume that was too loud, garnering some unwanted attention. Shouting grouped with the fact that it was between Taemin and Jiyong would have anyone assuming that a fist fight would be moments away from breaking out, but that was just the past now. There would be no kicking or punching although that didn’t mean that Taemin wouldn’t get away with a decently stern smack on the head. “That hurt!”

“You better watch your tongue!” Jiyong warned. “Now hurry up, I came to walk you to class so give me your hand!”

“I’m not a child… you don’t have to hold my hand…”

“You easily get shoved around in crowds.”

“You wouldn’t know.”

“I’d know perfectly. I’ve done it myself, haven’t I?”

With drooping shoulders, Taemin nudged the older boy’s side. “Don’t bring that up.”

“It’s true though.”

“It’s also in the past, so don’t bring it up or I’ll be upset.”

“There are a lot of things in the past to bring up though.”

Leaning his head against Jiyong’s shoulder, Taemin caught sight of his classroom down the hall. “Like what?”

There was a pregnant pause before the older boy shrugged. “Like that ring ‘Santa’ got you last Christmas.”

Surprised by that example, Taemin tried to think back to a time when he had gotten a ring and recalled opening a little box at his desk last the year before for his class’s secret Santa event.

“What?”

Before getting an answer, he was shoved away, although rather carefully. He knew why when he looked up and saw Seunghyun coming around the corner, Jiyong now walking towards him. He understood that Jiyong changed a bit in the past year, but he also knew that him and Seunghyun were best friends for far before that and could understand the secrecy Jiyong chose to keep around his and Taemin’s relationship. He knew he wasn’t a complete embarrassment because even when Jiyong left so abruptly, he’d always receive a text from him a few seconds later that usually went along the lines of ‘Sorry, see you later’.

Heading off to class, he made it a few seconds before the bell.

He was bored and fighting the urge to fall asleep.

The lecture seemed senseless and the teacher uncommunicative.

Taemin was more than happy to sit in the back of the room if it gave him chances like today where he’d just text Minho the whole time.

Staring at the screen, he felt his heart skip a beat when it lit up, signifying that he had received the message. He was quite surprised by the fact that the notification said it was from Jongin rather than Minho.  He wondered if maybe the younger boy had sent it earlier but the delivery was delayed, especially since he had gym now and would have little to no opportunities to text.

Opening it, he read something along the lines of ‘Hyung, I need your help… meet me in the bathroom on the second floor. I’ll be waiting inside the last stall. Please hurry’.

‘Wait,’ He began typing back, ‘what is it? Why do you need my help? Shouldn’t you be running laps or something? Do you need a cheerleader?’

Moments later, he received ‘Hyung, this isn’t funny. Well… you might laugh, but it’s horrible and embarrassing for me. Please come quickly.’

Confused by the urgency, Taemin raised his hand. Once he got the teacher’s attention he smiled and politely asked to go to the bathroom. Since he wasn’t sure of how serious Jongin’s situation was, he gave the excuse of a stomach ache, earning himself extra time if there really is a serious problem.

Getting a nod, he stood up and left the room.

Looking over the message, Taemin made his way down the stairs. Out of all the times during the day, why would Jongin have a problem now and why would he need Taemin’s help in the second floor bathroom?

Spotting the men’s sign on a nearing door, he quietly slipped in.

He couldn’t hear anyone and didn’t want to be caught peeking between stalls, so instead, he whispered a quiet ‘Jongin’ in hopes of finding the boy.

“I’m in the last stall… like I said… Taemin, please don’t laugh, and please don’t run away, and please don’t tell anyone, and just… please… I don’t know…”

With the anticipation building up, Taemin didn’t know what to expect as he heard the door unlock and someone shift. Keeping his eyes on the floor, he quickly slipped in.

The moment he looked up, he saw a desperate younger boy, hand cupping his clothed crotch.

“Jongin, what are you doing?!” He whispered in a yelling manner.

“L-listen! Okay s-so we were playing soccer and I got sat on the bench for a bit and since I was tired and bored I kind of fell asleep and I ended up having a weird dream a-and I woke up with a semi- and it kept getting worse and so I came here and I’ve been trying to make it go away but it’s only been getting worse…”

“What the hell were you dreaming about?!”

With some hesitation and avoiding the brunette’s eyes, clearing his throat, Jongin mumbled a low “You.”

Blushing, Taemin backed up against the door. “W-well just… why don’t you play with yourself or something?”

“I-” Jongin began, a little too loud, “I… I’ve been trying to for the past twenty minutes but nothing’s working… it’s just staying the same… I can’t go back to class like this but I can’t stay here either… that’s why I texted you…”

“Well what do you expect me to do? Cast a spell and make it go away?”

“That’d be nice, yeah, but it’s not going to happen!”

“So what do you want?!”

A strange expression took over the younger boy’s face. It seemed to be stuck somewhere between embarrassment, regret, and anxiety.

“I was thinking maybe you could… you know… ‘lend me a hand’ and-”

“No!” Taemin instantly answered. “No I can’t and I won’t! Jongin, I- do it yourself!”

“I’ve been trying! Besides, it’s your fault I’m stuck in this mess!”

“How?!”

“If you weren’t this good looking, I wouldn’t be here!”

“Don’t pin this on me! You- o-okay, just… shh… let’s…” Speechless, Taemin didn’t know what to say. Obviously he’d want help if he was in this situation, he’d want help too, but he’d call on Minho who he would gladly surrender his body to. Looking at it from Jongin’s perspective though, Taemin was the Minho he’d call upon but there just didn’t seem to be any innocent way he could help him. “I… don’t know what to do Jongin…”

“Then… can I touch you?” The younger boy suggested. “I won’t go too far! Just… maybe your hand… arm… thigh… you know, that kind of stuff?”

“But…”

“Please?”

Biting his lip, Taemin fumbled with his fingers. “O-okay but… only if it’s nowhere near my… you know…”

Smiling, Jongin nodded. “Thank you Hyung.”

The younger boy, now content, placed his hand around the brunette’s wrist, raising his fingers to his mouth. His eyes stuck to Taemin’s gorgeous face as he guided the elder’s index finger into his mouth, on it slowly. This sent a shock to his groin, teasing his hard on. With his free hand, he pulled the member out, pumping it as he had been doing the past half hour.

He had the boy stand closer, pulling him between his legs. Feeling the finger in his mouth move, it soon slipped out, making a wet trail down his chin and neck. “Jongin… I’m only doing this because I’m your best friend…”

The younger boy chuckled, his hand landing on Taemin’s hips, “I know…”

“Th-then don’t get any dumb ideas… this is to get the situation over with as soon as possible.”

“What do you mean?”

Placing his hand on Jongin’s shoulder for support, he pushed him back against the wall, making enough room for himself to sit just above Jongin’s crotch. He messed up his hair with his free hand moments before ing a few buttons on his shirt, sighing. “D-don’t go anywhere above my chin or below my collarbone…”

Nodding, he gasped when Taemin’s finger flicked his , running circles around it in the most teasingly slow pace imaginable. Jongin leaned up, taking the chance to drag his tongue along Taemin’s neck, earning a moan.

Trying his best not to get erect himself, Taemin arched his back, pressing up against Jongin’s oozing member. “You’re almost there, aren’t you?” Grinding on the length while fondling the younger boy’s s, it took only a few more minutes to get the release they were both impatiently waiting for.

Jongin was vicious during it, allowing himself to touch all the places he promised not to. Until every last drop of was out of him, he massaged Taemin’s bulge, which was responding well to the touches. Taemin would moan into his ear so perfectly that he continued even after he came. It was all amazing up until the point where the brunette gave his iest moan. There was only one problem with it.

“A-ah… Ah- ah! Ngh… Minho…”

In that moment, they both froze, and Taemin looked up in fear. “I-I’m sorry… I… I should go now…”

“Stay.”

“N-no, I have class.”

“Stay.”

“I can’t!”

“Then tell me why you moaned his name when I’m the one making you feel good!”

“Because he’s the only one who’s allowed to make me feel good!” There was a pause and the elder shook his head. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have raised my voice.” There was an exhausted sigh and Taemin wiped some off the back of his shirt. “There’s going to be a stain… I don’t think I’ll be able to wash it out here…”

Jongin wiped himself clean and tucked away, standing up. Taemin watched as he stripped himself of his gym sweated and instead, handed it to the elder.

“Do you want me to take it to your locker?” Taemin asked.

“No. Put it on. It’ll cover the stain.”

Blushing, the older boy tugged it over his head, fitting his arms into the far oversized sleeves.

“Thank you.”

His heart sank at the way Jongin avoided his eyes, stepping around him to leave the stall.

“Are you going back to class?” The brunette asked.

“Yeah.”

“Oh…” Before Jongin could speed off, Taemin took his hand, following him towards the door. “Um… Thanks…”

“What?”

“For the sweater.”

Rolling his eyes, the younger boy shrugged.

“You wouldn’t need it if I didn’t come all over you.”

“You wouldn’t have come if I didn’t help you.”

“You wouldn’t need to if I hadn’t called you here.”

“You wouldn’t have to call me here if I wasn’t so good looking that I got you hard in class.” Before he could get another argument out, Taemin lifted his hand, kissing it. In that instant, Jongin’s serious expression broke into one of laughter.

“What is this? A kiss on the hand? What am I? A princess?” They both smiled. “If you want to thank me, you should do it like this.” Leaning down, Jongin kissed him on the cheek, letting his lips linger on the soft skin before happily pulling away. Jongin’s heart always went crazy whenever he saw that something he did made Taemin happy.  “I love you.” He proclaimed as the door beside them opened and a familiar, scowling face came in. Taemin caught Seunghyun’s glare through the mirror.

This was probably the only person Jongin genuinely hated, and he didn’t mind showing it. “Taemin, I love you so much.”

“Jongin… please stop…” The elder begged him, trying to prevent a situation, but he just kept going.

“I love you so much that I just want to pin you down onto my bed and you all night long. I’ll have you my until your mouth is filled with my come and you’re pleading that I do everything we just did in the stall right now all over again.”

“Jongin, I’m leaving.” The brunette stated, quickly heading for the door.

“You can give me my sweater back later!” Jongin yelled after him.

Once the door shut, he went up to the sink next to Seunghyun’s, turning the water on but not washing his hands. “God, he’s so tight. The way I ed him from behind in the stall just now… wow… he’s amazing.”

“He’s just a trained .” The elder growled in his direction.

Jongin laughed. “Be happy he’s into because if he wanted , he’d get it and trust me, no girl would even bother looking your way with him around. People know he’s gay and still I bet more girls like him then they like you. Anyways, I got class to get to. You know, gym? I’m working on my ing so I can go an extra hour on top of the four we already go. See you.”

Satisfied, he left as well, but only moments before getting a message from Taemin.

‘We need to talk after school. Meet me by my locker like usual.’

He got to Taemin’s locker, first for once, and waited there. It seemed odd for Taemin to stress this conversation so much when they always talked after school anyways.

As the brunette approached, he smiled, and Taemin smiled back. It seemed a bit odd though.

“How was school?” Jongin greeted, kissing the elder’s forehead. They heard a group of girls giggling nearby and Taemin looked at the ground, embarrassed.

“It was school… studying, learning, writing… the same like always.”

“Okay. So what did you want to talk about?”

“Wait until we’re alone.” Taemin urged him.

                So he did.

He followed the elder and instead of being lead to the bus stop like he usually was, he was lead down a nearby street which followed the bus’s route.

They seemed to talk like they usually would and Jongin was beginning to think that the message had no significance, at least until Taemin brought it up.

                “Jongin… I love you…”

                “What?”

                “As a friend.”

                “Oh…”

“And what I did earlier today, that was done as your friend too, but it shouldn’t have been.”

“You mean… it should have been done as my boyfriend?”

“No, I mean it shouldn’t have been done at all.”

“Hyung, I don’t like this conversation. Let’s talk about something else. Today, in English-”

“No, listen to me!” Taemin stopped him, “I said some blunt and hurtful things today, like how Minho’s the only one who can make me feel good, and I know it was mean, but it’s true and I stand by it. You’re my best friend and I love you to death but I’m engaged and we can’t keep doing this. I know we dated and I thought it was going to turn out amazing like you did, but it didn’t and I fixed things with Minho so this has to stop. It should have stopped from the very beginning but I keep trying to excuse what I do by saying that you’re my best friend and I want to do everything I can to make you happy, so if this is it, then it’s what I should do, but that’s wrong! I shouldn’t because that makes me feel worse and it makes Minho feel worse and in the end, it probably makes you feel worse too!”

                “Taemin, stop…”

“And what kind of relationship is it when my partner can’t trust me with my own best friend? I don’t blame him though, I really don’t, but I don’t want it to go on like this either. I’m Minho’s and his only. It’s a closed relationship and I want to dedicate my whole being into it.”

                “Taemin, I said stop…”

“Jongin, I’m in love with Minho. When you he kisses me, I feel like the happiest, luckiest, most blessed person on the planet, but whenever I do something beyond friendship with you, I feel wrong and I feel sick, like… like I’m going to end up losing Minho, and I love him too much for that so-”

“Taemin, that’s enough!” Jongin shouted, not bothering to look around before stealing the smaller boy’s lips in a heated kiss. “I don’t want to hear it!”

“No! We have to stop this! Jongin I-”

“Don’t say it! Don’t say the next words!”

                “I-”

                “Don’t finish the sentence!”

“Jongin, I don’t want you to kiss me anymore! I don’t want you to hold me like you do, or kiss me, or touch me! We’re not together anymore! I belong to Minho! He’s the only one who can do whatever he wants! He’s the only one who’s allowed! S-so… don’t act the way friends wouldn’t…”

“Why?! I love you more than he does! I love you longer! Back under the fireworks- I was the one who confessed first, wasn’t I?! So why does he get these stupid privileges that I don’t?! Why don’t you ever put me first?!”

                “Because I don’t love you!”

                There was an uneasy pause.

“A-and what do you mean I don’t put you first?! You call letting you touch me while I’m engaged not putting you first?! You call kissing you good night while my fiancé’s sleeping in the other room not putting you first?! You call me constantly begging Minho and doing favours just so I can share a room with you not putting you first?! You’re so selfish Jongin! Why can’t I be happy?!”

“Because I’m not the one making you happy! Because I have to watch while you lean in to kiss Minho and freeze every time I put my hand in your general direction!”

“I’m sorry for wanting to be with someone who’s not you! I thought we could have a normal conversation, but you don’t want to. Whatever, let’s go.”

They got home together but there was definitely a wall Minho, who was patiently waiting at home for them, could feel.

It was made clear that something went wrong when the boys separated without eye contact.

It was made painfully obvious when the first thing Taemin did was surrender himself into Minho’s arms, exasperated.

“Kitten…” Minho cooed in an attempt to lighten the mood. “I love you.” He felt like he did a good job when Taemin looked up and his pout turned into a smile.

“I love you more than I love oxygen.”

They stood there, in a silent embrace, until Minho whispered a ‘what happened?’.

“I… did something with Jongin at school today- w-well, I didn’t touch him, and he only really touched my neck and stuff, but I told him that I only did it as a friend, because he said he needed my help, but I shouldn’t have because me and him aren’t like that anymore and I’m only your and he didn’t want to listen so- well, we haven’t really talked since we left school…”

“So basically, he didn’t want to hear your proper rejection?”

“Yeah. I’ll try talking to him again later.”

“Can I make you feel better?”

“Maybe… we can go on a date later tonight? After work maybe you can come home, we can change and… go to the movies?”

                “And get ice cream after?”

                “Yeah.” Taemin smiled.

“Why don’t you come walk me to work?”

                “Can I?”

                “Of course.”

“Alright then, just tell me when you’re ready to leave.”

“Taemin, I want to go somewhere for our honeymoon, somewhere abroad.”

                “Switzerland.”

                “Huh?”

“I want to go to Switzerland. Skydiving!”

                “You’re crazy.”

                “That’s why you love me.”

Minho chuckled, squeezing Taemin in his arms.

                “And that’s a fact.”

Chapter 108: Dude, why am I just reading this now?! I... It feels weird that this is the end. It was so lovely and woah I can't believe how much you put into this story. Even though I wasn't here from the very start, I still feel how big a deal this is. I'll miss it too. I can imagine how different things will be now that you're finished and won't have the same routine, but don't feel sad. I think relief is a better option lol now you have this work to look back on while writing new things ^^ congratulations on seeing this through and being so consistent bc wow man, that was quite a schedule. I hope you'll continue to contribute more stories to the fandom (particularly 2min) haha good luck :) <3
