Chapter 31

False Awakening

Earlier today, Taemin had received a phone call in the middle of class. It was from Ruki. He had invited the boy over to go swimming. “Tae-chan~ I haven’t seen you in such a long time! Why don’t you come over to my hotel? There’s a pool. I can rent it out whenever you’re free. Minho can come too!” Now standing in the school bathroom, Taemin thought about it. “Today? I’m free. I’d have to call Minho and see when he’s free though. I’ll call him and then I’ll call you back.” He said, leaning against the wall. “Okay, Tae-chan! But even if he can’t, I’m still inviting you!” Ruki clarified. “Okay Ruki, give me a second.” He hung up and punched Minho’s number into the phone, he had it memorized. Within a few rings, Minho picked up. “Hello?” He said. “Hi Hyung!” Taemin greeted. “Tae? Don’t you have classes now?” He asked. “Yup. Which is why I’m trying to make this quick. Ruki is inviting us to go to his hotel for swimming later. He said he could rent the pool out for whenever is good for us.” Taemin explained. “Rent the pool out? How much money would that even cost? Anyways, I’d rather go to a public session.” Minho commented. “I don’t know if there are public sessions, Hyung. I mean, have you seen his hotel but it’s super prestigious and elite.” Taemin said. “So what? Are you saying that people can’t swim in their suits?” Taemin didn’t find it very funny until he heard Minho laughing at his own joke and all of a sudden it was hilarious. “Oh, and I’m not letting you go alone with him.” Taemin huffed, his lips forming a small pout. “Why? Do you think we’d fool around or something? I wouldn’t do that!” He argued. “You’re not the one I have a problem with. It’s him. God knows what he’d do when you’re willingly half in front of him.” Smiling at Minho’s protectiveness, Taemin nodded. “Alright, I’ll tell him that. I mean the first part.” He giggled. “Alright. And you, hurry back to class. You need to value your education more!” He scolded. “Alright, alright. Oh, one more thing Hyung, I-” he began but was cut off by the elder. “Love you? Me too. Now go before you get in trouble. I’ll see you later.” He finished. The door opened behind him and someone entered one of the stalls. Taemin lowered his voice. “I love you, Hyung. Bye.” Taemin hung up, but little did he know he left a red cheeked Minho on the other end. He now dialed Ruki’s number into the phone and called back once more. “Ruki? Hey. I called Minho. He said he can go but he wants to go to a public session.” Ruki seemed muddled. “Oh, alright. I just thought you guys might like the privacy, is all. Well I think the best time is… there’s a session from six to seven today.” Taemin looked at his watch. “Well that’s fine for me. It should be fine for Minho too. I’ll text him the time later. Anyways, I’m going back to class now. I guess I’ll see you then Ruki! Bye bye!” Ruki agreed. “Bye Tae-chan! See you!” He hung up as put his phone back into his pocket. As he turned, the person who came in before exited the stall. Taemin felt his heart stop. “Were you calling your lover? How ing disgusting.” It was Seunghyun. Taemin darted for the door but Seunghyun stuck out his leg, tripping Taemin. He didn’t fall though, surprised by how he caught his balance last second. “Where are you off too? We’ve just begun talking. He tried running for the door again but failed, being slammed against the wall. His back hurt a little, but he was scared that that was nothing compared to what was to come next. “Hey, it’s been a while since we were together like this.” Seunghyun pulled him off the wall and shoved him into it again. The whole time, Taemin was staring at the door. It was so close, like a punishment. A cage so close to an exit. “Hey maybe we should take a picture. Send it to the rest of the guys. This reminds me I haven’t seen you in so long. You even changed your hair. Was it a rebellion against me? Huh? Let’s see, this reminds me of something. Oh right, we were in this situation once before, weren’t we? At the park, I had you pinned up against a tree. Then your stupid boyfriend showed up and ruined it all. Oh man, I guess now’s a better time than any to catch up. How about it, Taemin? Strip. It’s not fair to keep all of that for your boyfriend.” Taemin looked at him in shock. He had his phone out. He was serious. “N-no, I don’t want to…” Taemin said, trying to wiggle out but only meeting more force. “Did I ask for your ing opinion? I said strip!” It was then, as if a gift from heavens was dropped. The door swung open and the edge hit Seunghyun in the back of the head. “Ow! What the !” A concerned head peaked out from behind the door. His eyes met Jiyong’s. “Woah, I’m sorry man! I didn’t see you!” Seunghyun grabbed at the back of his head. The moment his eyes squeezed shut, Taemin’s arm was pulled. Jiyong grabbed him and shoved him through the door. When he looked up and noticed Taemin gone, Seunghyun was berserk. “Where the did that go?!” Jiyong played it off looking around. “Who?” Seunghyun shoved him aside, looking around. “What do you mean who? That piece of ; Taemin! He was here God damn it! I was about to beat him to a pulp!” Jiyong took a look at the taller boy’s head. “Sorry, man. I was so focused on you that I didn’t even see anyone else!” Meanwhile, Taemin ran down the halls, rubbing his back as he took refuge back in class.

Once last period was over, Taemin hurried to his locker. He kept a low profile, knowing the Seunghyun would definitely be look for him. He jogged up to his locker, inputting his code and pulling it open. He was also rushing himself because Minho was picking him up. He quickly threw his books into his bag kneeling down to close it. It was then that he felt someone sit on his back. Already freaking out over any possible stalker, he flinched. Turning his head quickly, he saw it was Jiyong. Stuck in a crouching position because of the other’s weight, he decided to retie his shoes. “Hi.” Jiyong spoke up, looking through the smaller boy’s locker. “Hi. Uhm… Thanks for earlier.” Taemin mumbled. “No problem, you don’t need to thank me.” He continued looking through the locker with little interest. “You know what I don’t get though? When I see Seunghyun and you in the same place, I get your out of there no questions asked. When you see me and Seunghyun and me in the same place, you make it look like we’re going to have some sort of ‘regular’ ual rendezvous later. Why is that Taemin? Huh?” Taemin didn’t answer, trying to move from underneath Jiyong and close the door. “If you’re going to boast about your body so openly like that, we can have yeah, because according to you, we do anyways.” Taemin shot up, the elder sliding off and onto his feet. He slammed the door, locking his locker. Jiyong spun him around, his lips. “Come on; give me that smooch we share so often. Maybe we can take this to my place because we always make such a mess at yours, right?” Taemin grabbed the boy’s shirt, pulling him closer before biting right into his chest until he heard the boy hiss. “There, that’s my mark of love.” Jiyong chuckled, in pain but entertained. “You want to talk about love, huh?” he pushed him away and ran through the halls, Jiyong close behind. He pushed his way through the door, the street now in view. Not looking back he ran, nearing the sidewalk. As he glanced to the right he saw Minho. Skidding to a stop, the soles of his shoes burned. “Hi Hyung!” Less than a second later, he was ambushed, stumbling forward once Jiyong caught up. He grabbed Taemin’s jaw and pulled it towards his direction. “Oh, you’re fun. You want to play? I can play.” It was then that Jiyong also noticed Minho and slowly backed off. He nudged Taemin on the shoulder before ruffling his hair. “I’ll catch you tomorrow.” He said, walking off. When Taemin finally turned back, he saw Minho approaching. “What did he want?” Taemin smiled. “Nothing, it doesn’t matter.” Minho wrapped his arms around Taemin’s neck pecked him on the lips, receiving the same back. It was then that he noticed someone standing behind Minho. It was Jinri. He pulled away respectfully, greeting her out of courtesy. “Hi.” Once Minho let go of him, she seemed to pout and whined. “Oppa, don’t do inappropriate things like this in public. You’re better than this; you don’t have to lower yourself to his level.” She complained. “You never kissed your boyfriend on the street before?” He said, laughed her remark off. She shook her head. “I’ve never had a boyfriend before. All the boys my age are stupid. I need a smart and sophisticated man.” Taemin couldn’t help but roll his eyes, fortunately though, he could make it more inconspicuous. Minho patted her shoulder. “Alright, good luck with that. Anyways, me and Taemin will be going now. Thank for keeping me company. You have cram school now, don’t you? Don’t be late.” He waved before taking Taemin by the hand, leading him off. “How was your day, Tae?” Minho asked, planting a kiss on the top of Taemin’s head. “Good.” Besides being attack about twice. “How about you?” Minho scratched his chin, looking off into the distance. “Hmm… It was fine, boring class especially after having something to look forward to later.” Now blocks away from the school, they zigzagged through the side streets, Taemin’s house appearing closer. “Do you know how to swim?” Taemin asked curiously. “Yeah, I was on the swim team back in my short high school years. Do you?” Taemin led Minho up the stairs, unlocking the door. “Not that well, but I don’t think I’ll drown.” Minho chuckled as the entered. They took off any unnecessary layers of clothing, hanging them on the hooks near the door. Minho walked around the place, opening the windows a bit to let the breeze flow in. “What a nice day.” Minho commented. “Did you bring your swim shorts, Hyung?” He shook his head. “No. We’ll be going that way anyways. I pick them up then.” Taemin was bending over his dresser, trying to find his long neglected trunks. “Taemin, seeing the guy you were with got me thinking. Besides Ruki, I don’t know any of your friends. You never talk about them.” Taemin scrambled for words to say. He’d kept being bullied from Minho to now and he wasn’t going to stop now. “There’s nothing to talk about.” Minho leaned on the shelf, puffing his cheeks out. “You won’t even tell me their names?” Taemin looked over and laughed. “Is that supposed to be aegyo?” Letting the air fly out, Minho nodded. “It was an attempt. So tell me their names.” He gently pinched Taemin’s cheek. “Uhm it’s really not that important.” Minho pursued it. “Just one name then.” Taemin thought about it for a second. “Ruki.” Blowing a strong breath straight into Taemin’s face, Minho added on. “It can’t be anyone I know of.” After going through empty lists, Taemin gave up. “Honestly, I don’t have many friends. I just keep to myself, you know? Ruki just happened to talk to me at the super market but besides that, I’m really quiet.” Laughing, Minho picked Taemin up off the ground, using a few of his fingers to tickle the boy’s ribs. “You, quiet? What a lie!” He set the boy down on the couch, drawing a string of laughter from his mouth. “Hyung, stop! Hyung, stop it!” Taemin pleaded. Minho began leaning in which each powerful attack. It wasn’t until he realised the ability that he began to lean in more often, his hand falling from Taemin’s ribs to Taemin’s waist. Taemin’s hands went from pushing on Minho’s shoulders to holding his head in place. Taemin on Minho’s bottom lip and he could resist laying the boy down. Kissing for several consecutive seconds, Taemin pulled away. Hugging Minho as they rested, their bodies molded together. “Hyung, I don’t need friends as long as I have you.” Taemin whispered, listening to Minho’s breaths. “Don’t say that. Everyone needs friends.” Propping his head on his hand, he looked at Taemin. “And let me make this clear, I’m not your friend.” Taemin was confused, Minho’s serious expression not helping. “I’m your boyfriend. Friends don’t make out on their couches.” He cracked a smile, adjusting his position as he lifted Taemin up, having the boy straddle him. “Please don’t worry me like that Hyung.” Taemin rested the side of his body on the back of the couch, his head falling on the top. “Hyung, is it alright if I take the ring off?” He waved his hand in front of the older boy’s face. “Why? Are you breaking up with me?” Taemin giggled, shaking his head. “I don’t want the chlorine to ruin it.” He offered his hand to Minho, who slipped the ring off. “Then leave it somewhere you won’t lose it. Are you going to change?" Minho suddenly asked. "I was planning until you decided to play twenty questions." He joked, patting Minho's stomach. "Haha sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your important job." He sat up to join Taemin, smirking as the distance decreased. Unfazed, Taemin made the first move, tilting his head as he stole a kiss from Minho. Minho definitely liked it. He even took it a step further, dragging his tongue along Minho's lower lip. Just as the elder parted his lip to accept it, Taemin pulled back. "I'm not afraid of you anymore, Hyung. You should be afraid to me. I’m turning into a devil, you know? I’ll drive you cra-zy.” He said, putting emphasis on each syllable. Looking down, Minho scratched his head. He smiled, meeting Taemin’s eyes once more. “Oh God, what have I created.” Taemin placed a loving kiss on Minho’s cheek before proceeding to take his shirt off. “I’m going to go change.” He stood up, walking back over to his drawers, glancing around before finally spotting his shorts. Walking over to the bathroom, he went in, pushing the door shut with his foot. Taking his pants and briefs off, he put on his shorts. Tugging the rest of his clothes on to him again, he left. Entering, he noticed Minho looking through his bag. “How’s studying going, Hyung?” After clearly not finding what he was looking for, he stood up, straightening his back as he stretched. “Alright. I was studying all of yesterday until about two in the morning.” Taemin sighed, walking up behind the taller boy and rubbing his back. “Hyung, you need to relax more.” He kissed the back of Minho’s shoulders before gasping. “I have an idea!” After we come back, let bring Ruki over and make some cookies. I bought some cookie dough a few days ago and totally forgot about it. How does that sound?” His arms s their way around Minho’s waist, landing somewhere on his chest. Minho’s hand fell over Taemin’s, guiding it downwards until Taemin felt jeans under his fingertips. He soon realized his hand was over Minho’s bulge which the elder used as an advantage when he squeezed Taemin’s hand over it. He laughed when Taemin jerked his arm back, smacking his back with it repeatedly. “Hyung, you’re so gross!” He yelled. “Can’t you be normal for five seconds?” He hit Minho’s back again. “It seems like you’re not a monster yet, Tae.”

After fooling around and watching TV for a few hours, the decided to leave. They walked through the streets to Minho’s house, the elder picking up his clothes before they hopped on a bus. Arriving at Ruki’s hotel, Taemin texted him. They met in the lobby and Ruki lead them to the pool. “I hope you don’t mind that I changed ahead of you guys.” Taemin shook his head. “No it’s fine. We’re changed too; we just need to take our clothes off.” Ruki’s long bleached hair was in a ponytail high up on his head. He greeted a few of the staff on the way there. The smell of chlorine was getting strong now and, as expected, the hallway ended at two large doors. “Here we are!” Ruki chanted, going through them to reveal a huge pool. There were a few Jacuzzis in the back. The pool was occupied by quite a few people. “Wow.” Taemin said in awe. “Let’s go to the change room.” Ruki urged, leading them in. It was large as well and very well kept. They undressed on the spot and Ruki opened a locker for them. “Put your stuff here.” They took their flip flops in hand, walking back to the deck. “Taemin, wait.” Ruki started. “Aren’t you going to keep your hair dry?” Just as he finished his sentence, Minho jumped into the pool, splashing Taemin who was close to the edge. “I guess not.” Emerging from beneath the water, Minho shook the extra water off his hair, wetting Taemin even more. “Wow that felt good. Taemin jump! I’ll catch you!” He raised his arms, urging Taemin on. “Are you crazy, Hyung? There are other people here.” Taemin whispered, staring at the jolly elderly men in the further back of the pool. Turning to look at them, Minho shook his head. “They won’t care. C’mon, before I drag you in.” Stretching his arms out again, he came closer. “I’ll count to three.” Ruki laughed, forcing Taemin to line up with Minho. “Yeah Taemin, do it.” Taemin was shaking his head the whole time but no one seemed to care. “Three… two… One!” Ruki pushed him forward and with his feet now off ground, he scrambled for whatever he could get. Once his lower half hit the water, he held his breath. Strong arms grabbed under his arms, stopping him before his shoulders sunk any further. “Wow Taemin, you’re heavy.” Minho grunted, pulling the boy, who instantly wrapped his legs around Minho’s waist and his arms around his neck, up. “It’s because I was thrown!” Taemin argued, gathering his bearings before finding a place to set his feet down. He looked over at Ruki, whose feet were dangling over the edge, kicking in the water. He moved over to the boy, folding his arms as he rested them on Ruki’s lap. “Are you not planning on swimming?” He joked. Ruki spread his legs, giggling as Taemin’s arms fell to the floor before squeezing the blonde head between his thighs. “Tae-chan~ you look so good from the angle~” He purred, ruffling the boy’s hair. “Hey!” Minho yelled, trudging over. “What’s wrong with you?” He groaned, pulling Taemin away into his arms. Smiling, Ruki slid into the pool. “I’m sure Tae-chan’s used to being between someone’s legs, isn’t he?” He teased, raising an eyebrow. Taemin blushed, looking away while Minho swept his hand across the surface of the water, delivering a splash to the bold boy’s face. With water now running down his long strands of hair, a devilish expression sparked in him. “Choi Minho, that was unnecessary, hai?” Minho chuckled, crossing his arm in front of his chest. “There is nothing you could do to me.” Attempting to squeeze the water out of his hair, he frowned. “I know you won’t care if I do anything to you. That doesn’t go for Tae-chan though, does it?” He went straight for Taemin, the younger boy once again losing his footing as he was stolen. Minho automatically ran, following the two blondes which were escaping through a giggle fit. He always regretted being anywhere within a 500 meter radius of Ruki, but a smile somehow found its way onto his face.

They spent the rest of their evening was a compromise of making cookies and sharing blankets on their couch.

Chapter 108: Dude, why am I just reading this now?! I... It feels weird that this is the end. It was so lovely and woah I can't believe how much you put into this story. Even though I wasn't here from the very start, I still feel how big a deal this is. I'll miss it too. I can imagine how different things will be now that you're finished and won't have the same routine, but don't feel sad. I think relief is a better option lol now you have this work to look back on while writing new things ^^ congratulations on seeing this through and being so consistent bc wow man, that was quite a schedule. I hope you'll continue to contribute more stories to the fandom (particularly 2min) haha good luck :) <3
