That last week of summer went by quick. You worked at Beauty café, practiced your viola and did little performances at Beauty café, the senior center, and small local places.

“Tae Hee-ah, wake up!” Yoseob knocked on your door.

Today was the first day of college. You got up and did your daily routine. You didn’t want to get dressed so you wore leggings, a grey Nike sweater, and a hot pink pointelle beanie. 

You grabbed your bag and hung it over your shoulder. You then picked up your viola, put on your black and white Nike shoes, then headed out.

Yoseob was waiting for you in his car. “Tae Hee hurry up.” Yoseob hollered glancing at his phone. “I'm coming!"  You locked the door and ran to Yoseob’s car.

You got in and Yoseob drove off to college. When you guys finally reached the school, you blinked in awe. It was huge. There were two separate buildings connected by a skywalk. 

The building on the left was for singers and dancers. Whereas the building to the right were for instruments. There were people who took classes in both buildings. Beast was in the singing/dancing building, whereas you were in the instrumental building.

You and Yoseob walked up to the front of the school. “The office is directly to the left when you walk in, okay?” Yoseob instructed. You nodded. “Okay, thanks oppa.” You smiled. “Okay then. I’ll see you later, okay?” You made an ‘ok’ sign with your hand. “I’m off.” Yoseob waved and left to his vocal class. You waved and walked towards the office.

Just like how Yoseob instructed, the office was to your left. You went in to get your schedule.

“Annyeong-hasaeyo, I’m here to pick up my schedule.” You said politely. “Ah yes. What’s your name?” The front desk lady asked. “Yang Tae Hee.” You answered. She nodded and typed your name into the computer. “Here you are.” The lady printed off your schedule and handed it to you. “Thank you.” You bowed grabbing your schedule. “Have a nice day.” She smiled. “I will, thank you.” You bowed and left the office.

Once you were out, you looked at your schedule.

First period: private lessons

Second period: music study

Third period: orchestra

Fourth period: open class

Everyone in school had four classes a day, but each class was an hour fifty minutes long, so basically almost two hours.

You then began to look for your class. “241B.” You mumbled looking around for your room. You weren’t paying attention to where you were going so you bumped into someone.

“Oof.” You stumbled back. “I'm so sorry.” You apologized before continuing looking for your class without bother to look at who you bumped into.

The person you bumped into watched you look for you class.

*It’s her again.* he thought.

“Yah! L.Joe, what are you looking at?” Chunji ran up to L.Joe, who shook his head. “Nothing, let's go.” L.Joe began to walk away. Chunji looked around and saw no one. He tilted his head scratching it. Then he ran after L.Joe.

You had finally found your class. You smiled that you found it. You opened it and walked inside. There was a man inside waiting for you.

“Annyeong-hasaeyo.” You bowed. “Are you Miss Yang Tae Hee?” he asked. You nodded. “Ah yes, Yang Tae Hee-inmida.” You bowed. He smiled. “I’m Mr. Jang. I’ll be your new tutor.” You nodded. “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Jang.” You smiled. Mr. Jang nodded.

“Tae Hee-ssi, I heard that you are a very talented young lady.” “No, I’m not that talented Mr. Jang.” “Well, if you don’t mind, would you play a solo for me? I would like to know where you are.” You smiled and nodded.

You went over to the table and unpacked your viola. You tuned your viola and got ready to play.

“Play at any time you want.” Mr. Jang assured. You nodded. You counted one measure before playing.

After playing two minutes of the solo, you stopped and looked at Mr. Jang, who was clapping happily.

“You’re very talented Tae Hee-ssi.” Mr. Jang complimented. “Thank you.” You bowed. “I can see that you have a huge passion for classical music, am I right?” “Yes you are, sir.” Mr. Jang nodded. “Tell me. When did you start playing the viola?” “When I was five.” You answered.

“That’s a really young age to start playing a string instrument.” Mr. Jang said surprised. You mused, “I’ve been told that a lot.” “Can you tell me what inspired you to pick the viola or just learn how to play in general?” You nodded.

“When I was five, my parents took my oppa and I to a concert. It was rock and classical music together.” You explained. “Rock and classical music together?” You nodded. “I’ve never heard of that.” You nodded again. “Not many heard of it because people tend to think that classical music is soft and quiet but not this concert. It was loud and noisy.” Mr. Jang nodded. “It was trio from America that played. There was a cellist, violinist, and a drummer.”

“A cellist, violinist, and drummer?” Mr. Jang asked. You nodded. “Yes. It was a really weird combination but it worked out really well. The way they played together and how the drums kept the rhythm. It was amazing.” Yousmiled remembering at day.  Mr. Jang nodded. “It is an unusual combination. So because of the trio, you decided to play a string instrument?” Mr. Jang asked. You nodded. “I see. Well, I’m glad that you like classical music so much.” Mr. Jang smiled. "Thank you." You bowed.

“Well, since this is our first lesson, we won’t do any practicing much. I want to know what you’re capable of doing. Have you done any performances or anything?” You nodded. “Yes, I have.” “Oh is that so. Where at?” “My parents’ café, a senior center and some local places.” You smiled. Mr. Jang nodded. “I see. That’s very good of you to give little performances.” You nodded.
