Three days have passed since they first read the announcement about the duet performance. After reading it, they went straight to the practice room where they will formally greet their senior trainees and was treated quite badly for the special treatment they get from the other 15 old trainees. Min Yoong sits at a corner of the practice room, still thinking about why is she the one being transferred from DSP when she is one of the best trainee there? Somehow, right when she enters, SM Entertainment starts giving permission for male and female trainee to practice together, starting from their duet mission.

Min Yoong keep on playing with her fingers while resting from her practice, she had been practicing alone while the others are off somewhere else for their own practice. She didn’t have Kyungsoo’s phone number, so she wasn’t able to contact him to let him know about the practice, she also forgot to ask for his number from her group members.

“Min Yoong, I knew you’d be here. Where are the others?” Min Yoong look up to see Kyungsoo enters the room with the trainee that came in the company with him, Byun Baek Hyun. She waves and greet them and both of them sit in front of her.

“Who is your partner?” Min Yoong ask Baek Hyun. Min Yoong and Baek Hyun got closer easily when they first came in the company the other day, the five new trainees get closer easily since they were put in a room for a long time before Kyu Wan and Eun Mi came.

“They forgot to put my name, and there’s no other trainee left, so I’m kind of the odd one out. They said they’ll give me someone, I just don’t know who it is yet,” Baek Hyun said.

“You can just be comfortable with all of us like how you are comfortable with Baek Hyun, Jong Dae and Tao. You shouldn’t feel so shy around us, we don’t bite people.” Kyung Soo said to Min Yoong.

“I’m not shy, I’m just trying to get used with everything. Oppa, have you choose any song for our performance like we said yesterday? Oh by the way Baek Hyun, are you going to watch our practice?” Min Yoong ask Baek Hyun, relaxing herself around both of them.

“I’m going to be here until the staff calls me about my partner. She said whatever it is, I will perform, I won’t get any exception for it.” Baek Hyun said again. Kyung Soo went to Min Yoong and give a list of songs he had choose and a cd that he had burn the night before, then he walk towards the microphone and hand one of it to Min Yoong.

“I never heard you sing before, during the greeting session, you only dance though. So I need to hear you sing to know how to harmonize our voice,” Kyung Soo said. Min Yoong like this side of him because it’s similar to her. They are playful but when they start working, they will become serious. Min Yoong then start singing to Seeya’s Sad Steps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fXjfO0J_E8), one of her favourite songs because of the sad MV. Baek Hyun and Kyun Soo applaud loudly hearing her voice.

“Why are you ignoring me? Yah, I’m telling you, we should do something cute.” The three heads move towards the big voice that suddenly came in chasing the trainee that they then realize is Lee Hyori. Hyori sees them, slide her way to them and greet them cheerfully. The big voice that belongs to Chan Yeol just stares at Hyori feeling completely shock by the fact that Hyori is ignoring him. Chan Yeol then slowly walk towards them and make a sulking face towards Kyungsoo, nudge him, reports to him how Hyori is treating him badly.

“What do you want me to do??” Kyung Soo ask, completely clueless about Chan Yeol’s complain. Right then Baek Hyun asks all of them to be quiet as he receives a phone call from a staff.

“What? So it’s not going to be a duet? Ok I understand. Thank you.” Baek Hyun unconsciously bow to Min Yoong who’s in front of him when what he intended to do was to show respect to the caller. Baek Hyun then looks from Min Yoong to Kyung Soo. Kyung Soo and Min Yoong then look back at him with a curious face.

“Trio performance. You, you and me. But they do tell me that since we’re a trio, we need to be better than other duos,” Baek Hyun said pointing to Kyung Soo and Min Yoong. Min Yoong and Kyung Soo was about to open their mouth to reject that idea when they receive a phone call at the same time. In their opinion they can reject the order since the only one receiving the order is Baek Hyun. They’re not being selfish but to plan a performance in a week is quite difficult as a trio when it’s already hard for the two of them to work as a duet partner because both of them are too awkward with each other.

“This is fun, don’t you think so?” Chanyeol said nudging Hyori who just watch as the three of them distance themselves from both of them. Seems like it will be a hard time for them to plan their performance thus Hyori quickly pull Chan Yeol so that he can stand up and walk towards the three of them.

“Guys, if you ever need help, do come to any of us, ok? Performing as a group would be hard, try to work it out. Good Luck! We’ll leave you guys to it, ok?” Hyori said and holds Chan Yeol hands, pulling him out of the practice room while he waves goodbye happily to the three of them. The three of them just smile at how cute Chan Yeol can be at times.

“Oppa-deul, can I at least hear your voice first? You’ve listed all the songs you have in your head, circle and cross out the songs that can be sung with three people, but I didn’t get the chance to hear your voice yet,” Min Yoong said to both Kyung Soo and Baek Hyun.

Baek Hyun offer to sings first. He looks at the two of them and start singing DBSK’s version of Balloons happily while dancing to it as well. The two of them unknowingly start dancing to his singing and start smiling, releasing the tension they just get from the phone call. Somehow the awkwardness between Min Yoong and Kyung Soo is overcome by the presence of Baek Hyun. At the end of his song, Baek Hyun points his finger to Kyung Soo asking him to start singing.

Kyung Soo stands up and start singing to another DBSK’s song that was written by Chang Min and composed by Park Yoo Chun, Evergreen. Park Min Yoong has her jaw hung open shock by how good both Kyung Soo and Baek Hyun are. Though she had been a trainee for 3 long years with her old company but her vocal technique is not as good as both as them and Baek Hyun just enter the company.

“We’ll work it out somehow. I have confident that we can do it! We’ll be fine!” Min Yoong suddenly said a mantra to herself loudly making the other two boys just stare at her amused. She was so quiet, awkward and shy and suddenly show this funny and cute side of her making them more comfortable around her. And once again, someone stare at them from the door and leave the room, smiling at their progress.
