Chaeyeon ran her fingers through her hair as she made her way towards the restaurant, the Fendi platforms she was wearing made pleasant tick tacking sounds on the pavement as she walked.

She reached the resto’s entrance, she went up the steps but then her phone started ringing, she quickly took it out and her brows rose at the name flashing on the screen.

“Auntie,” She said with a small smile as she greeted Mrs. Son with warmth, the girl entered the restaurant, she spotted Minhyuk seated at their usual table.

“I hope this isn’t a bad time, Chaeyeon-ah.”

“No, I’m actually about to have lunch Minhyuk.”

“That’s good to hear, I was worried when Hyunwoo decided to take the Busan job. He leaves you alone too much.” The lady from the other end sighed, Chaeyeon smiled to herself.

“It’s alright, auntie. Is something wrong?”

“I’m calling you to ask if you could join us this Friday, my husband’s office is throwing this party for a product launching. Surely, you can make time for us.”

Minhyuk saw her and waver her over.

“Of course, auntie. I’ll be there, with or without Shownu.” She said in a joking tone, the elder chuckled.

“Maybe he’ll change his mind and decides to join us then, I should tell him that you’re coming.”

Chaeyeon laughed in reply.

“I don’t think he will. He’s really busy over there, auntie. I feel bad for even dropping by last weekend.”

“He’s never too busy for you, darling. Anyway, I will see you this Friday. Take care.”

“Yes, you too, auntie. Please tell uncle I say hi.” She said before putting the phone away, she plopped down across Minhyuk.

“Who was that?”

“Mrs. Son, she was calling about this Samsung party.”

“Oh, so you get invited even though the son is out of town.” Minhyuk said teasingly, Chaeyeon rolled her eyes at him.

“What’s up? I heard about Hawaii.”

“What do you think about that?” Minhyuk asked as he handed her the menu, Chaeyeon puffed her cheeks before replying.

“I don’t think it’s a bad idea, a tropical shoot seems nice. But let’s not make it cliché.” She said, Minhyuk nodded in reply and Chaeyeon pushed the menu back to him.

“You decide.” She said to him as she leaned back on her chair, Minhyuk ordered for them and he turned to her.

“I heard about you planning to work on a few limited pieces with the actor.”

“Song Kang. Yes.” She said to him, Minhyuk rolled his eyes at her, not enjoying being corrected.

“That’s his name.”

“I didn’t know he was into clothes.” He commented as he pulled the glass of water towards him.

“Me too, but you know we were actually discussing a few things over the phone. He has…He knows what he’s talking about, you know. And it’s…refreshing, actually.”

“So, you two are friends now?” Minhyuk said to her with a wan look on his face.

“What’s up with you? I was only gone for like..two days.” Chaeyeon sighed at him.

“I don’t like being replaced.” Minhyuk pointed out, Chaeyeon let out a laugh.

“Who would ever compare to you, Lee Minhyuk?”

“Still, I think you should be careful. You know how there are eyes and ears who never mean well.” Minhyuk said to her.

“I know, celebrity brother, remember?” Chaeyeon sighed at him.

Yes, and The Hulk boyfriend, but sure.

“How could you do this? You even gave out my address.” Heesoo said, she looked at the elder before her.

“It’s not your address, that’s your cousin’s home.”

“Well, I would have my own if you hadn’t closed up the house and banded me from entering the property.” Heesoo spat back, the elder sighed at her.

“Heesoo, it’s time for you to settle down. I let you walk around a lot and looked what the cost us.”

“Us? I was working independently, abeoji. And you’re the one who couldn’t respect that. I already told you~”

“Exactly!” He snapped at her and slammed his palms on the table.

“I let you do what you want, study what you want to and now this is how you repay me? You think being a lawyer is enough? You won’t even help us out here!”

Heesoo’s forehead creased, her lower lips quivered.

“Now, I’m only asking for one thing and you can’t even do it? You left that young man alone there, he drove to that place to see you. And what do you do?”

“So, what do you want me to do? Do you want me to marry him because I didn’t take the path you wanted me to take?” Heesoo shot back, her father’s forehead creased.

“He’s the right man for you. You marry him and the board will forget about all the shenanigans you dragged this family’s name into.”

Heesoo slowly shook her head, but her father hissed.

“And, you think I don’t know what kind of people you’ve been hanging out with nowadays? I~”

“What kind of people are they then? Chaeyeon? Minhyuk?”

“I’m pretty sure that the miss Oh does not work for that autoshop you frequent almost everyday,”

Heesoo scoffed at her father.

“Whoa, you really don’t know.”

“What?”

“First, you decide who I should marry, now you want to dictated who I should be friends with.”

“Stop going there, I’m warning you.” Mr. Jung warned her, Heesoo’s lips curled up.

“Or else, what, abeoji? You’re going to break my legs so that I’d stop going there? Well. I’ll crawl!”

“If the Choisan family finds out that you’ve been~”

“You know what, I’ll have someone from the autoshop come pick me up if I can’t walk anymore, but I will never marry someone just because it’s seems like a good business move. So,” Heesoo walked towards the door.

“Screw you and screw Jung Banking!” She spat before slamming the door on her father.

“Ah, that seems troublesome.” Shownu murmured as he pushed the shopping cart towards his car, Wonho was on the other line.

“Exactly, she seems in a bad mood as she drove off. I’m worried.”

Shownu smiled to himself as he unlock the Audi and opened the trunk.

“Don’t.” Wonho warned him, Shownu let out a silent chuckle.

“Come on, you’re calling me to tell me that you’re worried over her. Of course, that’s the natural reaction. You don’t call me when Sophia throws a fit around you.”

“It’s funny when she gets angry.”

“Hazardous too.” Shownu added as he started loading the items to his car.

“You’re grocery shopping on a Monday, I wonder where you got that habit.” Wonho said teasingly, Shownu paused and shook his head.

“Exactly, Chaeyeon has a point though. Lesser people on weekdays.” Shownu murmured as he returned the cart by the doors.

“Anyway, you can’t make it to the launching party? They invited Chaeyeon, you know.”

“I know, I’m not so sure about it. I have meetings piled up by then.” Shownu replied, relaxed. He knew that Chaeyeon could handle his family, and that they loved her. Actually, they adored Chaeyeon so much that they almost never check on him, or they do call him to check on her.

“Alright, I’ll ask if she wants to go together.”

“How about invite Heesoo to come?”

“I already said, don’t.” Wonho hissed at him, Shownu smiled to himself.

“She doesn’t have a lot of friends, and Chaeyeon would probably think it’s a good idea to bring her. Do it for Chaeyeon.”

“You’re using her against me, not fair.” Wonho snapped.

“I’m not saying anything.”

“You’re insinuating things.”

“I’m not. I’m only concerned that Heesoo might feel left out.”

“Fine, I’ll ask if Chaeyeon wants to go together and call Heesoo too.”

“Good, thanks.” Shownu said, he put his phone back in his pant pocket and was about to turn back to his car when a figure stood before him.

“I feel like a stalker, but this is probably the only way to get you to talk to me, oppa.” She spoke, Shownu’s forehead creased.

“Aerin-ah,

“Oppa, please. I really would like to talk to you.”

Shownu took a step back from her and his fingers curled around his car keys.

“Aerin-ah, we have nothing to talk about. We~”

“You’re right, at some point, we were “we”, can’t you at least think about that too, oppa?”

Shownu didn’t speak, Aerin smiled at him.

“For old time’s sake, surely a cup of coffee wouldn’t hurt. And a slice of cheesecake too.”

Chaeyeon pursed her lips as she faced her laptop again, Sehun had called earlier and informed her that he was going to be out of town for a few days. And, he said he’d drop off his dog, Vivi at her office later.

She started to check the plans for the overseas shoot again, she did not even notice that secretary Yang had walk in the room with a guest.

“Ma’am?”

“I know, I know. Wonho oppa did call me about that…opening thing tomorrow night.” She mumbled back, also wondering why Heesoo had not called. She tilted her head, since when did she started thinking about Wonho and Heesoo as a set?

“But, they do look good together. A moody young lady for Bunny oppa.” She mumbled, and then she finally looked up.

“Oh, hi.” Chaeyeon smiled and stood up, Song Kang let out small chuckle.

“You seem really busy, president.”

“Don’t call me that, or else I’m making you wear paisleys and florals.” She shot back at him; secretary Yang grinned as the two sat down.

“What brings you here? Alone too.” She mused, not seeing his manager hovering behind him.

“It’s my free day, and I figured why not work on the collab you mentioned.”

“Ah, right. What do you have in mind?” Chaeyeon asked him, and then his lips curled up.

“How about we brainstorm?”

“How?” Chaeyeon blinked at him, her phone buzzed, and she looked at the message.

I had food sent over at your house, and, if you need help moving your things, I already arranged it. Just tell me when. Stay safe. -Shownu

Chaeyeon smiled to herself before sending him a bunch of kissy emojis.

“How about we take a walk, president Oh?”

“Find, mister Song. We can take a walk and brainstorm in a very formal manner.” She sighed at him, he grinned, and the girl stood up.

“I think we should get coffee too.” She suggested as she picked up her coat, Song Kang paused, noticing how the girl was dressed so casually. A pair of loose-fitting denim jeans and a knitted crop top.

“Before you judge me, Monday is kind of my down day. I’m not even supposed to be at the office.” She pointed out, feeling his gaze on her. Song Kang paused, growing sheepish.

“I—I wasn’t~”

“But, don’t tell that to anyone. It’s my big secret.” Chaeyeon grinned at him as they stepped out of her office, Song Kang watched as she walked ahead of him.

“Yes, I’m probably already in trouble anyway.” He mumbled to himself as he jogged after her.
