"Good. I expect you to come back at 1. Got it?" Heechul put down his mobile after receiving a call from Sungmin about the report of the meeting the younger was attending with Donghae. He turned to his sketchbook and his chest clenched a little when he saw whose order he was supposed to finish. Blinking his eyes to erase the stinging feeling starting to creep in, he grabbed his pencil and began to work. As he drew a bolder line of his design, his mind wandered imagining how stunning Jungsoo would be wearing this tux. He might as well be the most handsome groom ever; Heechul couldn't contain his smile as the idea crossed his mind.

If people assumed Heechul was perfectly fine, he could debut as an actor. What nonsense! His life was turned upside down ever since Jungsoo's marriage news broke. All Jungsoo's promises only added fuel to the fire burning all his castle. What was left now was the ashes that Heechul could only inhale deeply and get choked, killing him bit by bit.

"Y-you still trust me, right?"

Jungsoo's last words were still crystal clear haunting him in his sleep. He was not gullible nor did he tend to act carelessly, but however he saw himself right now he couldn't help but feel like a lost puppy wanting nothing but to be saved. He was still dancing under one last light illuminating the reminiscence of his castle. The little light that Jungsoo lighted up nicely.

He still trusted him.

][-ooo-][

"Mr. Kim, there's someone wants to meet you at the lobby. She said that she was one of your client-"

"Just send her to my office," Heechul grunted as his concentration in making the details disturbed a little by the intercom. It was three minutes after that his door was knocked lightly. He heaved and finally got up to greet his client. Putting the best smile, he turned the knob only to be shocked to the core.

"Mrs. Park?"

Jungsoo's mother invaded his room and he somehow noticed that the expression she wore was a bit different. He quietly closed the door and led his client to sit. The usual menacing gaze wasn't present, however, only soulless eyes avoided to look at him. Heechul sat across her and got confused about what to do with this nerve-wracking atmosphere.

"Do you want a cup of tea or coffee, Mrs. Park?" Heechul tried to offer. Her shaking her head was expected; Heechul sighed softly.

"I'll go straight to the point, Mr. Kim," she suddenly turned to him. Heechul gulped, nodding.

"What do you want from my son?"

Albeit the question sounded a bit insulting, her voice somewhat quivered. Heechul had no time to open his mouth—not that he knew the answer to the question anyway—when the middle-aged woman continued.

"Jungsoo is my dear son. I love him so much because he was the one who held my hand after my husband passed away. He is always the perfect son of mine, finishing his study satisfyingly, getting himself a decent job until he has a respectable career now... A nice little boy for me."

Mrs. Park's admiration was vivid as she described how amazing her son was. However, the trace of the smile quickly vanished, only a forlorn stare remained.

"He never disappoints me nor does he go against me. But..." She paused, breathing a lungful air. Heechul slowly grasped where this conversation was leaning.

"But, you saw how he talked back and even yelled at me when we had dinner a few weeks ago. He... My son... He has changed an awful lot. I... I am really hurt to see my flesh and blood son turning his back to me. I assume you know how painful it was to lose someone you loved so much."

Heechul's heart stopped beating at the last sentence. His eyes shot open and tears welled in an instant. However, his throat was clogged from old rusty wound trickling due to the implication of Jungsoo's mother's words. He was surprised when Jungsoo's mother dragged something leading to his issue with losing his father into this matter.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kim. But, I'm hopeless so I did look up your background a bit. And..." She suddenly dropped her head and sobbed heartbreakingly. Heechul's heart was twitching uncontrollably. He didn't know what he should do at that very moment.

Mrs. Park suddenly looked at him, knitting her eyebrows tightly, letting the buds of her tears rolling out freely as if she wanted to yell out the pent up emotions in front of his face.

"I'm glad that I can connect to you through the same pain. You love your late father, don't you? Were you there when your mother cried out due to the loss of her beloved husband? Were you there when your sister's heart broke because she lost the father figure she needed?"

Heechul's body began to shake because the image of his mother and sister's endless crying flashed through his mind reminding him how badly his family crumbled back then. The guilt he had almost forgotten shoved him stumbling on the ground of hopelessness.

"I won't ask you to fulfill your father's wish, that is out of my reach. B-but..."

Suddenly Jungsoo's mother took off the Sapphire Blue badge on her collar, the one which indicated that she was one of the higher as well as the investor there. She weakly stood up and faced Heechul fully. Heechul's teary eyes dilated rapidly, tears b down like a rainfall when he saw what he thought he would never witness.

The almighty Mrs. Park bowed deeply in front of him, the perfect ninety-degree, clutching her trembling fists on her knees. She threw her soaring pride just to get her son back. Heechul was suddenly thrown to his past as if the one who pleaded desperately was his family, asking for him to bring his father back.

"I beg you, Mr

Chapter 70: 4 years too late to find this great story (: reading this story really makes me feel like a masochist who continues to force herself to read even though it hurts immensely, this is not a light story to be enjoyed but every meaning in it can pay for it all, there is a lot valuable content contained in it and I'm very happy to be reminded again through this story. every beautiful moment they go through can be an antidote for all the wounds that exist, I really like every detail in this story even the ending really makes me want to ask for more, but I know the point of this story is not to show off all the sweet things like fairytale. good job writernim, thank you for this beautiful story. (*^ー^)ノ♪
