Plot: Being in an arranged marriage to a mafia boss is already kind of y, but did I mention he's a vampire, too? Yeah, not so fang-tastic...or is it?

    "You make me sick."

    A long, thin push of air exhaled from the dark mahogany haired male's nose as he continued to drink from the gold chalice gripped in his right hand. Adam's apple bobbing with each swallow, the cup tilted higher and higher until the contents were completely dumped into his body. Slowly, Kihyun's head leveled; glazed eyes fixating upon the woman sat across from him who wore a disgusted expression.

    "Likewise," he smirked as the back of his hand wiped a stray drop of blood from the corner of his stained lips.

    Eunji, his wife, merely rolled her eyes at her husband's response, "At least I'm not a bloodsucker." 

    "Maybe not by definition," Kihyun retorted as he refilled his chalice with fresh blood from the fancy glass decanter they had received as a wedding gift two years prior. Waiting until his cup was filled halfway with the scarlet toned liquid, he gave it a swirl before peering at her with a raised brow, "But you are the daughter of a mob boss, therefore you have the life skills and thought process of one."

    Eunji scoffed as she leaned in closer, elbows resting atop the table, as she folded her hands together beneath her chin, "Oh? But you and your family are both mafia and vampires. Plus, you were just given the title of godfather, so doesn't that make you the ultimate leech?" 

    A certain silence of words washed over the dining room. 

    The spouses merely glared at one another as Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No.2 played from the next room over. Though stone faced, Kihyun's hand that gripped the chalice slowly constricted around the cup more and more with each passing second; pale skin only whitening more at his visibly strained knuckles. Eunji, on the other hand, sat there with knitted brows and a relaxed, yet firmly stanced body; long, onyx inked tresses cascading over her beige dress covered shoulders.

    "My father loved you," Kihyun's words were calm, but there was frosted edge to the manner in which he spoke.

    "I know," Eunji took a sip of the Sangiovese b her wine glass before continuing, "and I loved him and continue to love all of your family. You're the only one I have a problem with, Kihyun."

    The pale skinned male merely smirked, sharp fangs revealing themselves from behind their bloodstained fleshy barriers, "Same with you. I enjoy your family's company, but you, Eunji, are terrible. If it hadn't been for the treaty, I would have never even been within ten feet of you, let alone wed with you."

    Pausing for a moment, his eyes bore into her golden ones, "In fact, I wouldn't even your blood."

    Eunji scoffed bitterly as she leaned back in her chair, wine glass in upraised hand, "Is that supposed to offend me? If anything, I find it reassuring."

    There was another pause before Kihyun rose from his seat. Quickly, he tilted the chalice against his lips as he down his meal before bringing the cup back down to the wooden surface with a hollow bang. Leather shoes tapped their heels against the cream colored marble floor as he strode to Eunji. Gently, long fingers cupped themselves beneath her chin as he lifted her face upwards; a smirk present upon his own.

    "Whatever makes you sleep better at night, sweetheart."

    With those words, he exited through the tall archway, but stopped briefly in his tracks. Peeking over his shoulder, his profile was slightly rounded, but still sharply defined.

    "The crew is coming over tonight," his words were a bit stiff, "but don't come out this time around, okay?"

    Eunji cocked a brow, "Why not?"

    "Just do as I say," his words were sharp and quick as he began ascending up the long, spiraled, decorative iron rod staircase.
