Trope: Fluff
AU: College
TW: N/A
Song suggestion: I'm Serious, Day6
Summary: Three love interests, three separate plots, but only one of the J's will be chosen.
Disclaimer: The university and street names are completely fictional. I don't live in California, but it's the most...summery (?) state I can think of and figured it'd fit a college AU the best for what I'm going for with this one shot.

Day6's I'm Serious blared through the stereo system; the summery, upbeat melody setting the mood for the current scene.
Windows down, strands of hair blew in the breeze as Althea's thumbs tapped against the steering wheel clutched in her hands. The trees that whizzed by in a green blur were smudged into the dark blue, white foamed ocean backdrop in the distance. As the road curved harsher, the pale yellow display of gritty sand grew more visible with each passing second.
Swimsuit-clad bodies - some tanned, some pale - explored the land; one cluster playing outdoor volleyball as a duo of two men wearing nearly matching pairs of neon orange and pink swim-trunks passed a frisbee back and forth to each other. The sun, fierce and hot, beat its rays down upon the vast landscape as it managed to easily sneak a peek in through the opened roof of the young woman's bright yellow Jeep Wrangler.
I’m serious, my eyes say that I like you. Why don’t you feel it? My face is so obvious.
Althea loudly sang along with the song's chorus, shoulders bobbing up and down with the beat as her GPS temporarily muted the music: In the next half-mile, use the far two right lanes to turn onto Abrigado Dr.
The song resumed as did the female's singing as she neared the exit the robotic lady informed her to follow. As she halted before the stop light clad with a decently sized 'No Turn on Red' sign, Althea took a moment to examine the inner-city's surroundings.
Tall, silver buildings seemingly scraped the light blue, milky ragged linen-tufted empyrean. Palm trees lined the sidewalk and street median; their long, thin trunks hunched ever-so-slightly as if mimicking a live action version of a Dr. Seuss' illustration. Ahead of her, shiny expensive cars lined the streets as horns honked in the backed-up traffic. To the right and left of her, however, strutted hordes of walking bodies as they ventured in and out of high-dollar boutiques and patisseries. As Althea to the next street, a colorful array of juice and frozen yogurt shops lined the surrounding area; falling agape at the alluring sight.
"Look at all of these shops," she gasped to herself as a small smile curved the corners of her peachy lips.
After spending eight years living overseas in Japan due to her father's work, Althea had finally returned to the states to pursue her college education at Los Angeles University of Arts and Engineering. Prior to residing in Osaka, Althea's hometown was decently sized, but incomparable in population to Los Angeles. Was she accustomed to big city life? Yes, but she'd be lying if she said she wasn't feeling a slight bit of culture shock.
