School Vacation
My Oasis (My Resting Place)
Sa Rang sat back down in class with Hyun Bin next to her. “Hey, did you finish it already?” she asked him looking in the bag. “Yes,” he said. “Aw, I didn’t even get one?” she said sadly. “Hey, Yong Jun Hyung, let’s go play soccer after school again.” A friend in class said to him, who was walking in with his bag of donut in his hand. Sa Rang looked over at him and smiled widely. He looked at her and stared at her. “Don’t smile at me like that.” He thought to himself. She turned around and looked at the teacher who walked in.
“Alright, everyone, I have good news for you all.” Mr. Lee said slamming his stack of papers on the podium. Every one sat down. “Okay, next week, we’re going to go on a trip.” He said. Every one cheered. “Where is it?” every one asked. “You all will know when we get there. We’ll leave from here on Wednesday at nine in the morning and we’ll come back on Sunday afternoon so you all won’t be tired from coming back to school the next day okay? So pack some winter clothes because we’re going to be going to the mountains. That’s a secret okay?” he said. Every one cheered happily. “Wow, so exciting!!” Sa Rang said happily.
Sa Rang got home from school and looked for her suitcase to pack her things. “What should I pack?” she asked. She looked through her closet and found only one big jacket. “Huh, I only have one?” she asked looking through her clothes. “Where are my winter clothes?” she asked looking around.
Sa Rang nicely placed the clothes she’s going to bring on her bed: three jeans, a sweat pants, two t-shirts, three thermos, her ear muff, two pairs of gloves/mittens, two winter hats, two scarves, three sweatshirts, a pair of boots and another pair of sneakers, and last but not least, her big winter jacket. She looked at her bed and sighed wiping the sweat off her forehead. “This should be good.” She said. She looked around. “Wait, where is it?” she said looking everywhere. “Hey, where’s my suitcase?” she asked running out to her mom who was preparing dinner.
“Hey, mom, where’s my suitcase?” she asked. Her mother looked at her. “Oh, in our room.” she said. “Alright, thank you.” Sa Rang asked. She went to get her suitcase then walked back to her bedroom.
