L.Joe rubbed his sore arm. You punched him one last time and sunk into the couch. Your punches didn't really hurt him, you were too upset to punch your hardest.

He comforted you, sitting beside you.

"If you want to, I can pick you up after school tomorrow." He handed you a tissue.

"No..." You sniffed and blew your nose.

"You sure?"

"Yes I'm sure, I can go home by myself."

"What if you really get kidnapped?" You hit his arm playfully.

"I won't, I promise." L.Joe held out his pinkie. You linked yours with his and touched thumbs before letting go.

"I know what will cheer you up, like it always did before." He left to the kitchen and opened the freezer.

He came back with a tub of ice cream and two spoons.

"I'll be right back." He ran into his room and came back with his blanket in one arm and a movie in his other hand.

You smiled brightly. Sitting beside you, L.Joe wrapped the warm blanket around both of you.

The movie started and memories of the both of you spending the holidays like this ran through your mind.

Grinning thankfully for having a friend like L.Joe, you dug into the tub of ice cream.
