A few days later it was time to celebrate your family’s arrival to the neighbourhood. Your parents had invited everyone on the street to your house for some food and games. Gikwang was helping you put up some tables while keeping an eye on the three little ones playing in the garden. The neighbours would be arriving any time now. Suddenly the kids started screaming.

“Hyung! Hyung!”

“Oppa!” You and Gikwang looked up as they ran past you and up to Jonghyun. You gasped in surprise and Gikwang groaned displeased and came to stand next to you. The two of you watched Jonghyun as he was greeted by your siblings. Your sister showed him that she was still wearing the necklace he had given to her.

“You look so pretty,” Jonghyun praised her. Your sister smiled shyly.

“~~~~~ happy now,” she then said and clapped her hands. You flinched. Jonghyun glanced up at you.

“I guess your wish came true after all,” he said with a smile and ruffled your sister’s hair. That had been her wish for her birthday? You lifted your sister up in your arms aas she came running to you.

“Make Taeyeon happy too?” she asked. You gave her a sad smile.

“She will get happy,” you said.

“Where is she?” Jonghyun asked.

“With Yoseob,” Gikwang said.

“How is he?”

“He’s been better.”

“Well, I just came here to congratulate you on the house,” Jonghyun said. “I brought a small gift too.”

“Thank you,” you said with a small smile and accepted the small present box. You opened it and peeked inside. Your mouth fell open and you picked it up. “Is this… a car key!?” Your sister rejoiced in your arms and clapped her hands.

“It’s parked on the drive way.” Jonghyun nodded towards the front of the house. Gikwang grunted and looked down on the ground. You nudged Gikwang’s hip with yours while keeping your eyes on Jonghyun.

“None of us in the family has a driver’s license.”

“You’ll think of something. I know someone who is about to get his,” Jonghyun said and gave Gikwang a meaning look. Gikwang and you glared at him. “Or you could just sell it.” He chuckled at his own joke before suddenly putting on a pensive expression for a second. Then he grinned. “You two look good together, your kids will be pretty.” He winked at Gikwang. You blushed madly but couldn’t stop yourself from smiling. Gikwang on the other hand looked very uncomfortable with the situation.

“Jonghyun…” you mumbled. He smiled at you.

“Good luck with everything now.” He smiled even brighter and turned around.

“You too!” you called after him. He waved at you without turning around and disappeared around the corner.

You looked at Gikwang who glanced awkwardly at you.

“I’ll go and check up on the food,” he mumbled. Your sister squirmed in your grip.

“Me too, me too,” she said. You let her down on the ground and she ran to catch up with Gikwang and took his hand. You looked after them as they walked hand in hand next to each other. You smiled. Gikwang glanced back at you. He smiled shyly and motioned for you to come and join them. you trotted slightly to catch up with them. you took your sister’s other hand. You looked at Gikwang who looked back at you. You sighed and smiled happily. Now things were the way they were supposed to.
