Oh! Finally we are going to Jeju-do! I’m so excited!

I gladly showed my boarding pass to the flight attendant who welcomed us with a sweet smile. “That’s 2-A in the middle. Enjoy your flight, Madam.”, the attendant smiled. “Yeah! Sure I will! Thanks!”, I replied cheerfully. Oh so exciting!

I heard a soft chuckle behind me. I ly to find Taemin and the flight attendant chuckling, looking at me amused. Oh crap! I really didn’t know he was right behind me! Oh God! How stupid can I get?!

I looked at Taemin and pouted. “What?”, I asked, a bit embarrassed. “Nothing.”, he said, with his angelic smile. My heart raced. Ok! Let’s find our seats first. Hearts can always race later on…

I diverted my attention from his killer smile, and focused on finding my seat. “2-A… There it is!”, I walked towards my seat only to find Jonghyun wearing his glasses, engrossed in reading an unknown book. “Oh.”, I blurted, kind of surprised to know I would be sitting next to him. Jonghyun looked up at me for a moment, and then smiled. “Oh! So you’re sitting next to me? Here! Have a seat.”, he offered as he stood up. “Thanks.”, I replied humbly.

“I hope you’re fine with me sitting here.”, I said, as I settled down. “Oh! I’m totally fine! Someone else might be a bit disappointed, though.”, Jonghyun casually commented. “Who? Elisa?”, I asked.

Jonghyun’s head snapped to look at me. His eyes literally widened to look 3 times bigger. His jaw dropped.

“Pfft!”, I burst into soft chuckles. “What’s with that reaction?”, I asked, still chuckling.

“You know?!”, he asked, in an urgent whisper. “I figured that out.”, I replied. “Elisa boasted about you, the day before.”, I added, whispering. “Oh~”, Jonghyun replied, slightly embarrassed. “Well, I wasn’t talking about her.”, he said, changing the topic.

“Then who?”, I asked, curiously. “That puppy at the back who looks like he’s about to poop.”, he replied. I turned to look around to know who he was talking about.

“He was looking forward to this trip a lot.”, Jonghyun added. I just looked at him in confusion, raising my brows. Jonghyun looked at me once and then looked at the book open in front of him. “Taemin was.”, he finally said.

My eyes widened. I turned around to see him. Indeed, he looked sullen and uninterested.

Why is he being like this suddenly?

I turned towards the front and looked at Jonghyun. “See? I told you. Someone else might be a bit disappointed.”, he said. I just nodded.

“Perhaps…”, he spoke. I looked at him, waiting for him to complete. “Perhaps, you are disappointed too.”, he finished. I just looked at him confused. “Why would I be disappointed?”, I asked. “Well, why not? You aren’t disappointed that you are not sitting next to him? Normally, you should be. After all, you love him. Don’t you?”, Jonghyun spoke, still looking right into his book.

I looked at Jonghyun wide eyed. He finally shut the book, closed in on me a bit and looked right into the depths of my eyes. Now it was my turn to be shocked.
