JAMIE'S POV

While Misa was in the recording studio with Yonghwa and CNBlue, you and Jonghyun arrived back at the SHINee dorm to get yourselves ready to meet with your boyfriend’s parents. As soon as Jonghyun closed the door behind him you went into the bedroom to look for an outfit to wear. You’re meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time and you wanted to leave a good impression and not screw it up for his sake. You took out a white elbow length sleeved shirt with black hearts and a red skirt before you were startled by your boyfriend surprising you with a hug from behind kissing your cheek. “You’re nervous?” he asked whispering in your ear before you turned around. “Yea, they’re your parents. I am anxious” you confessed while Jonghyun pulled you closer. “Baby, there is no need to be anxious. They won’t bite. They’re just my parents. Not royal family or anything” he assured you tucking your hair behind your ear. “I am the one who should be anxious since I will probably have some explaining to do because you’re pregnant with my child. But I believe it’s going to be just fine”. “Exactly that makes me even more nervous and anxious. What if they are not so cool about it? They will give you a hard time” you mumbled looking down at the clothes in your hands. Jonghyun wrapped his arms around you cupping your chin to meet with his eyes. “That’s okay. I know they will give me a hard time. They’re my parents. They will say a few things, but that’s what parents do. Don’t worry about it okay? I am still on your side. Don’t forget that” he whispered assuring you leaning his forehead against yours. You didn’t say anything and s your arms around his waist holding onto him tightly. “It’s going to be okay. I promise” and kissed your temple tightening his embrace. “The worst thing they can possibly ask from me is to marry you and honestly, I don’t find that so bad” Jonghyun confessed smiling. “Would you mind?” You shook your head “I guess not. I get to wake up next to you every day” you smiled. “Honey, you can wake up next to me every morning, every day without a marriage license. I am not going anywhere”. “You better not because I will not let you go” you whispered carefully pressing your lips on his. “Let’s get ourselves ready” Jonghyun insisted letting you go so you could get dressed as well as himself.

After the two of you were dressed, you went back into the living room to wait for Jonghyun playing a little with Roo who happened to be coming along with you since Jonghyun’s parents were going to take care of the doggie while you were going for your trip tomorrow. “You got everything babycakes?” Jonghyun sing-songed while he rolled up the sleeves of his red black checkered blouse. You looked up from the chair still holding Roo. “I am” you smiled getting off the couch petting the fluffy pet again. “Do you like her that much huh?” Jonghyun chuckled rubbing Roo’s head who looked very much comfortable to him in your arms. “Look at her face” he chuckled in amusement. “I don’t blame you. I like her too. A lot” he whispered to the doggie who just raised her head before he surprised you with a big kiss. “Let’s go gorgeous” he smiled grabbing his phone and car keys while you grabbed your purse on the way and followed your boyfriend out of the house. “Don’t we have to bring a blanket for her or something?” you asked while Roo was enjoying the head massage you gave her. Jonghyun shook his head “I have them in the trunk and there is plenty of her stuff at my parent’s place. Don’t worry” he assured you. “Okay, then we’re definitely ready I guess” you murmured pressing the button to hold the elevator followed by Jonghyun. Once the two of you made it to the ground floor, he unlocked the car while you and little Roo got in. After Jonghyun got in you officially headed out to meet with your boyfriend’s parents. It felt somewhat strange to you and you really hoped he was right and that his parents would accept you. After driving for nearly an hour Jonghyun pulled over and parked his car nearby a block of houses in which you expected to have reached your destination and that thought was making you nervous all over again. You both stepped and while Jonghyun was locking the car and checking all the doors, you were still holding Roo who had fallen asleep. “Do they even know that I am coming?” you mumbled looking at your boyfriend. Jonghyun shrugged placing one hand on your back as you made your way to the house “Of course they know. They invited us to dinner. Relax” he whispered assuring you before he kissed your lips guiding you to the right house.

Anxiously you looked at the front door of the house while Jonghyun unlocked the door and let himself in followed by a nervous you. “Umma? Appa? Noona?” he somewhat shouted as you both entered the house welcomed by a delicious smell of a freshly prepared meal. “Jonghyun-ah” Mrs. Kim cheered greeting her son with a big hug and a kiss on the cheeks as you two walked further into the house. “It’s good to see you again. Didn’t you miss your umma a little bit?” she smiled still hugging her son. “Of course I did” he chuckled. “Umma I’d like you to meet Jamie” Jonghyun interrupted the hug before he placed his hand back on your back again introducing you to his mom. Mrs. Kim studied you for a little bit making you rather uncomfortable. Did she really have to study you like that? “You didn’t tell me she was this pretty” she whispered to Jonghyun before she faced you again with a smile welcoming you with a hug throwing you somewhat off guard. “It’s nice to meet you Jamie” she smiled friendly in which you couldn’t help but smile back. “It’s so nice to meet you too Mrs. Kim”. “I hope you two didn’t have breakfast yet. I made plenty for all of us. Jonghyun-ah can you make us some tea?” Mrs. Kim smiled while you both followed her into the kitchen. “Sure” Jonghyun shrugged kissing your cheek and noticed you weren’t as nervous as you were before. You really stressed for no reason. At least for now. The second you walked into the kitchen you met the rest of the family. Jonghyun’s sister and dad who both looked somewhat anticipated to see you.

“You have to be Jamie” Sodam smiled widely as if she were happy to meet you. “I have heard a lot about you”. You chuckled “I hope these are good things”. Sodam nodded “Don’t worry. He just can’t stop talking about you so it made me that much more curious who you really were. I am Sodam”. “Nice to meet you Sodam” you smiled shaking her hand relieved that the rough edges of being nervous were slowly coming off. “I see you two are getting along” Jonghyun chuckled serving tea to the two of you. “Thanks” you smiled at your boyfriend. “Yea of course we get along. Why not?” Sodam smiled taking her cup from her brother. “You never told me she was this pretty” she whispered poking Jonghyun’s arm. “She is beautiful indeed and she’s mine” he smirked kissing your cheek. “Wow” Sodam giggled. “What?” Jonghyun shrugged giving his noona a confused look. Sodam shook her head. “It’s nothing. I just never have seen you like this. It’s a little strange. My little brother is growing up” she smiled patting her brother’s shoulder. “Hey I am not that little anymore. Besides, we’re only two years apart. Noona” he shrugged turning around again to help his mother while his dad introduced himself to you too. His opinion about you, you could not really put your finger on because he seemed a little hard to read. You couldn’t tell if he was approving of you or not. “The food is ready at least. Can you set the table Sodam-ah?” Mrs. Kim sing-songed. Once the table was entirely set with food everyone sat down at the table digging into the delicious food Mrs. Kim prepared. “That was really good” you complimented Mrs. Kim’s cooking skills while Jonghyun held your hand under the table. “I am glad you liked it. You sure you ate enough?” she asked with a worried expression on her face. You simply nodded “Yes I did. Thanks” you assured her with a smile before you looked at your boyfriend sitting next to you.

Sodam didn’t say a word because she knew exactly what was going on because Jonghyun told her everything. To make it less awkward she interrupted the silence by gathering the plates. “Maybe Jonghyun would like to take some of this food back to his dorm later?” she suggested. Mrs. Kim smiled. “I’ll pack it in boxes”. Jonghyun gave his mother a thankful smile. “Thanks umma” and sat down next to you while Mr. Kim went out for a quick urgent business meeting and said he’d be back in less than three hours. You tried everything you could to keep the food you just ate twenty minutes ago in, but you failed holding it and rushed to the bathroom holding your hand in front of your mouth afraid to throw up in front of everyone else. “Is she alright?” Mrs. Kim asked while Sodam anxiously looked at her brother. Jonghyun rose from his chair following you to the toilet and heard you throwing up. “Baby?” he whispered softly knocking on the door. Once you threw what was bothering you out, you flushed the toilet unlocking the door. “You’re okay?” your boyfriend whispered while you just s your arms around his waist digging your face in his chest. It didn’t take much for Jonghyun to realize you were crying. “Hey, it’s okay?!” he whispered assuring you while he your hair. “No it’s not” you sobbed looking up at your boyfriend. “I feel so tense and I don’t know why. Plus I just threw out all the delicious food your mom made. I feel bad about it” you confessed. Jonghyun removed the tears from your cheeks “Baby don’t feel bad about it okay? It’s not your fault” he convinced you kissing your temple. “Why am I so tense? I am nervous about everything. I am nervous about us. I am nervous for you” you continued. “I don’t know babycakes. Maybe you’re anxious for the ultrasound coming up in a couple of days? Could that be it? Look baby, I am not going anywhere. I’m here with you aren’t I? If I didn’t want any of this with you do you think I’d be still here with you telling you everything’s going to be okay?” You shook your head “I guess not”. “Good” Jonghyun whispered tucking your hair behind your ear kissing your nose. “I’ll get you some water” and grabbed your hand guiding you back into the kitchen.

“What’s this all about?” Mrs. Kim asked looking at Jonghyun and Sodam before she looked at you and noticed you’d been slightly crying. “Are you alright my dear?” she asked sounding a little worried. You nodded while Jonghyun passed you a big glass of water. “Someone tell me what’s going on here?” Mrs. Kim asked crossing her arms in front of her chest first looking at her daughter because she clearly knew something more than she did. “I think Jong should tell it himself” Sodam insisted while Mrs. Kim frowned at her “You know something I don’t?” Sodam raised her shoulders and looked at Jonghyun. “Do you have something to tell your umma?” Mrs. Kim asked now looking at her son. “I am not sure how to say this or bring this up, but…” Jonghyun started suddenly cut off by his mother again “Are you in trouble?” Jonghyun shook his head “No, no, no, no…I don’t know, maybe I am, but what I’m trying to say is…” Jonghyun continued taking your hand in his gently squeezing it “I…we…well Jamie is pregnant” he stammered released by a sigh of relief that the confession rolled off his tongue at last. “Say what?” Mrs. Kim raised her voice looking at her son with big eyes. “How can she be pregnant? It must be a mistake?” she added holding her hand onto her forehead. “Oh boy” Sodam mumbled not prepared for this sort of reaction from her mother. “And you knew about this?” Mrs. Kim continued now looking at her daughter. “I’m sorry okay? He had to tell someone and I promised to keep it to myself until he was ready to tell you” Sodam defended herself. “Mom, please. It accidentally happened. I don’t want you to think this is all on her just like my manager, because it isn’t. I seduced her and before we knew it it already happened. It didn’t happen on purpose. It wasn’t planned and we sure were careful enough to prevent it. You have to believe me” Jonghyun explained himself.

Mrs. Kim shook her head “I think I need to sit down” she mumbled sitting down at the kitchen table looking at her son and then at you and noticed how uncomfortable and nervous you were looking and softened. “What are you going to do? A baby needs a lot of attention and raising one is expensive”. Jonghyun squeezed your hand a little more “I know this and it might sound really crazy, but I love her and what a baby really needs is a home and two loving parents right?” “Jonghyun-ah” Mrs. Kim sighed with a softened tone. “Are you sure about this? You’re responsible for this baby for the rest of your life. You realize that don’t you?” Jonghyun nodded “Of course I do. This is why I’ll take my responsibility and it would mean a lot to me if you could give us your blessing because I’d love to marry Jamie” and looked at you knowing you were dying with nerves the entire morning. “Oh Jonghyun-ah” Mrs. Kim started again exchanging glares between the both of you. “You really love her you want to spend the rest of your life with her?” “Absolutely. There is no doubt on my mind” Jonghyun bluntly answered and looked back at you with a never ending smile on his face “I love how she makes me feel when I’m with her and how much she makes me miss her when I’m not. I love how I can be myself around her without making a complete fool out of myself because I know she loves me even for that” and looked back at his mother “You once told me that I should look for a girl who’s worth more than all the diamonds in the world. Someone who makes me feel whole as a person. You told me that I would feel it when I’d meet the right girl. I did. She’s the other half I’ve been missing. I know she’s the one” By just looking at her son she knew he was genuine about you and rose from her chair taking Jonghyun’s face between her hands “You got my blessing. I can feel you love her. You better be good man to her and I will do my best to get to know her and make her feel welcome in our family” “Thank you umma” Jonghyun whispered hugging his mother tightly. He really needed to hear these words more than anything else in the world.

Mrs. Kim turned to you and started to hug you. “Welcome to our family” she smiled making you feel relieved. “Thank you for loving my son. I know he’s this happy because of you. Just let me babysit my grandchild from time to time”. “Of course” you assured her “You can see him or her anytime you want. I want you to be in this baby’s life as much as possible”. Mrs. Kim couldn’t stop smiling and rubbed your arms “You worry too much my dear. It’s not good for your little baby”. You shrugged “I know. I am just stressed lately. To have to tell this to everyone isn’t as easy as it looks”. “It never is dear. I’m not going to lie to you” Mrs. Kim started “But my husband won’t be as accepting as I am. He will have a fit” “Umma, you’re making her even more nervous. You’re not really helping her by saying that” Sodam interrupted the conversation “Noona is right, but this is something between me and dad. He always gives me a hard time so I will have to deal with this myself” Jonghyun sighed. “That’s what appa’s do Jonghyun-ah. When dad comes back from the office I will take Jamie out for a walk through the park and when we do we can bring Roo with us too. She doesn’t have to hear the arguing” Sodam insisted. “See, this is exactly what I told you” you mumbled looking desperately at your boyfriend. “Baby, look at me?!” Jonghyun broke off cupping your chin “This has nothing to do with you okay? My dad doesn’t understand me quite as much as noona and umma do. They’ve been supporting me all along in my life but not my dad. He has a hard time to come to terms why I chose this path of life. He cooled off in the meantime, but for me it’s important that I have my noona and umma to support me in what I do and I know you do too” he whispered rubbing your arms. “Don’t worry. I love my dad but nothing he says will change my mind” he assured you once more before left a small kiss on your lips. “Your dad still loves you even though he doesn’t always show it” Mrs. Kim smiled. “Oh we know” Sodam sing-songed.

“Aigo, you have…you know…” she suddenly continued pointing at the vomit stain on your shirt. “I’ll have some blouses that I am sure will fit you too” Sodam smiled. “I’ll get one for you” she insisted ready to go up to her room to get it. “No, it’s okay” you gestured her shaking your head. “I’ll rinse it off with water. It’s fine”. “Are you sure? Because I really don’t mind and you can bring it back anytime” Sodam convinced you. You thought it was sweet and couldn’t stop smiling “It’s sweet but thank you. Just water will be fine”. “I’ll show you my room” Jonghyun whispered taking your hand guiding you up the stairs to his room. “Why is your room so dark?” you chuckled as soon as Jonghyun opened the door. “I like it that way” he chuckled closing the door behind him. “Scented candles?” you smiled sniffing one of the pots. “You have a good sense of smell” “I do?” Jonghyun whispered snaking his arms around you from behind. You nodded “I love scented candles too” you confessed. “Really?” Jonghyun added taking your hands in his playing with them. You put the candle back down and couldn’t stop smiling “You have a nice room” you whispered turning around to face your boyfriend. “So here’s where you sleep when you’re home” you added keeping your eyes locked on his. “I am glad you like my room” Jonghyun smiled placing your hands in his neck “because my bed happens to be very comfortable too” “And you are telling me because?” you smiled while Jonghyun lifted you from the ground walking towards the bed “No reason” he assured you. You smiled with no ends “I am supposed to believe that” you chuckled once Jonghyun put you down on his bed and started to take off your shirt. “What are you doing?” you asked not sure what he was up to and you definitely did not want to get caught making out by his parents or sister for that matter. “Relax. I am just going to wash this stain out for you” your boyfriend convinced you putting your shirt aside. “Now what? I need to wear something” you chuckled before he pressed his lips on your gently kissing you. “It will be just a minute” he smirked however that wasn’t really convincing to you. “What if your sister walks in or your mother?” Jonghyun shook his head “Not going to happen. They all have rooms on the ground floor. Except mine is up here” he explained stealing another kiss from you. “I’ll be right back”.

You couldn’t stop smiling and made yourself comfortable checking and smelling the rest of the candles while you were sitting on his bed. And just like when you put a white scented candle down, Jonghyun came back. “I told you it would only be a minute” and joined you on the bed kissing your lips. “Mhm. Did it come off alright?” you asked looking at the shirt. “Easily” Jonghyun whispered kissing you all over again while you made yourself a little more comfortable on the bed. “You’re really beautiful. You know that?” your boyfriend complimented you admiring the view before he circled his index finger around your belly button. “It’s hard to believe there’s a baby growing in here” he whispered with a big smile on his face looking at you. “It feels strange” “You feel anything?” Jonghyun asked surprised. You shook your head “No, I’m only three weeks, nearly four. The baby might be just 2 or 3 mm something like that. I guess I won’t feel much until maybe three months? I guess” Jonghyun shook his head “It’s quite something how it’s even possible” he continued and planted a couple of kisses around your belly button. “But I’ll love this baby just as I love her mommy”. “Wow! Her?” you chuckled wondering what your boyfriend was thinking. “How do you know it’s a girl? Maybe it’s a boy”. Jonghyun bit his lip shaking his head “No I don’t think so. I am pretty convinced I only make girls” “Our baby is not even a baby yet and daddy is already biased” you chuckled in amusement putting your hands back in his neck. “I am not biased. I’d love this child just as much if it were a boy” he assured you. You nodded “Uhuh but you want it to be a girl don’t you?” you slightly . “Maybe I do. I just find girls cute” he confessed planting his lips back on yours and started to kiss you all over again.

After you kissed for a little bit you decided to put your shirt back on and corrected your hair combing your fingers through the lengths to make it look less messy. “Can I get you something?” Jonghyun whispered while puts aside your hair planting a kiss in your neck. You closed your eyes smiling “No, I’m okay”. Just when that left your mouth you heard that Jonghyun’s dad came home and it was making you anxious. “You know what my sister said right?” you nodded “Yea I don’t want to hear him giving you a hard time when you tell him”. Jonghyun pulled you in his arms kissing your temple “You know I love you right?” he whispered leaning his forehead onto yours. You smiled widely “Of course I do. I love you too” you whispered before planting a kiss on his lips until you were cut off by Sodam. “I am sorry for interrupting” she nearly whispered “I thought you might want to have a walk? We can let out our doggies” You smiled letting go of Jonghyun after he stole another kiss from you. Jonghyun had not much left to do by himself in his room and just followed both you and Sodam downstairs. While Sodam prepared her doggie Nala, Jonghyun prepared Roo while you quickly braided your hair. “We’ll be back in a bit okay?” Sodam assured both her parents “Let’s go out Nala” she called her doggie who obeyed quietly following her. “I love you” you whispered before you left a small kiss on your boyfriend’s lips holding Roo in your arms following Sodam out.

As soon as you were outside with Sodam you put Roo down on the ground giving her some freedom while you held onto the leash. “For what it’s worth, don’t take it too personal for whatever my dad might say. He’s frustrated with us sometimes because we want different things than he’d like us to do. I just don’t want you to think he’s a bad man or anything” Sodam explained. You shook your head “It’s not what I think really. It’s just that, everyone is giving him a hard time because of the decisions he’s making and it has to do with me. It makes me feel bad. The last thing I want is come between him and his profession or his family. I am not on very good terms with my own family and I don’t want the same for him” you sighed while Roo was sniffing the grass under her feet. “I am sorry about that. Us Koreans are just traditional usually and so is our dad. He has a hard time to accept changes and that the world around him is too. I can’t blame him. My grandparents, his parents are strict. Very strict. It’s just how he’s been raised. Our mom on the other hand is very calm and accepting. She knows the world is not the same and she’s accepted that. I guess you can see why it’s a bit difficult sometimes. But my brother is stubborn and doesn’t easily let go on what he wants, just like dad. Which explains why they bump from time to time. They’re somewhat alike” Sodam chuckled. “But I don’t want to bore you with all that, because it’s not relevant. My brother really likes and love you so he’s definitely not going to compromise on that” You couldn’t stop smiling “You’re brother is quite amazing. He has such a big heart. He’s the sweetest guy that I know. So caring and warm. I don’t think I have ever loved someone so much”. “You’re lucky because last time I checked he’s pretty darn crazy for you too and when he is…there isn’t a thing he wouldn’t do” Sodam smiled as you walked through park.

“So what is it that you do really? I mean. My brother talks about you all the time but he is kind of general about your life” she asked while the doggies did their business. You smiled “I’m a professional choreographer. I started out as a dancer for artists when I was seventeen, did some dance teaching when I was nineteen and by the time I was twenty two I was asked to do a choreography for Beyonce’s Single Ladies and that’s how the ball started rolling really” you explained. “Beyonce? Wow. How did you do that?” Sodam asked looking at you with big eyes because the dance was pretty popular. “Pure luck. I had her album, I was playing it and my agent caught me dancing to it just for fun. It was supposed to be a workout really so she filmed me a second time when she caught me doing the same routine to this song. It was only a matter of two or three days after that my agent came to me asking me if I’d be interested to teach Beyonce and dancers because they chose that song to be a single. She actually asked for me herself” you shrugged. “That’s quite a compliment. She’s not just anybody” Sodam shrugged. You smiled “I know. I just got lucky really. After that assignments kept coming and I have been pretty much working nonstop ever since that offer. I got offers from labels in the U.S and Europe to work with big artists, smaller ones. I enjoy working both on major as well as rookies. It’s a fun time for me. I love dancing. Been dancing my whole life. I am just lucky I am one of those who get to make a living out of it I guess”. “Well it’s good. My brother needs someone who’s a little independent too at times. Although I am guessing my brother likes to take care of his girl too. Don’t be too much independent” she whispered smiling at you. “Yea he told me something similar. I am just not used to being pampered much, but I am getting better at it” you laughed. While you and you Sodam had a nice walk outside while the sun came out, business was about to get serious in the Kim residence…
