Chapter 52

Tiffany lifted her fork to & consumed the last bite of the amazing spiderman red velvet whoopie pie. She smiled as she savored the delicacy & gently wiped with her napkin, “That was really delicious, Soo.” Tiffany said, looking at her friend across the table, “I really do miss working here, cooking meals for people just like you guys.” An idea came to her head & she looked to her husband who immediately placed his finger upon her baby pink lips, “Don’t even ask me that. My answer will be no & I’m sure that Soo will not let you back in this state as well.” Tiffany pouted but smiled, “It was worth a try. Oh, well.” Sooyoung reached across the table to grasps Tiffany’s hand in hers.

“I miss having you here as well. A lot of regulars have been calling in about you, wanting you to come back & cook for them.” Tiffany sighed happily, “If only this baby will hurry up & come out, I can get back to work. I miss cooking. Jaejoong Oppa won’t let me cook anymore.” She smiled mischievously at Sooyoung, “Someone’s been giving him cooking books.” Everyone suddenly looked at Jejung in surprises except Sooyoung who blushed slightly, “Well, he kept on insisting, saying that you keep on sneaking downstairs to go cook when he wasn’t around & he made the kitchen sound so dangerous for a pregnant woman so of course, as any normal good friend will do, I had to give them to him.” She defended herself. Siwon nodded his head in agreement, “Listen to my noona, Tiffany. You shouldn’t be in the kitchen at this stage in your pregnancy. You need to be more careful.”

“Usually, I hate agreeing with this guy here.” Sunny said, motioning to her boyfriend, “But I totally agree as well. Stay put & remember the life that is also growing inside of you.” Tiffany let out an exasperated sigh, “Okay, I give up. Besides, Oppa’s cooking isn’t that terrible.” She said, smiling affectionately at her husband. Jejung glowed with pride but also blushed a deep red as everyone turned to stare at him in shock again. Tiffany reached up to feel his high cheekbones & laughed softly, “Are his cheeks as red as they feel?” Keunsuk couldn’t resist reaching over to pinch his friend’s cheeks while Jejung quickly pulled away, “Hey.”

Everyone laughed at his reaction, “Now, his cheeks are even more red.” Keunsuk said, admiring his handiwork. Tiffany rubbed the side of his pinched cheek, “Aw, my poor big baby, but you really do have the most adorable cheeks, if I do remember correctly.” She said quietly. Everyone stopped laughing at her comment. Sometimes, it was just hard to believe that Tiffany couldn’t see anymore. She had accustomed so well to her blindness that they couldn’t help but forget that she was actually blind now. Tiffany smiled, oblivious to the tense atmosphere that had formed amongst her husband & friends, “They still feel as cute though.” She said, laughing again. Jejung leaned over his seat to press a kiss on his wife’s cheek. Smiling against it, he whispered loud enough for everyone to hear, “But to me, you are always the most beautiful, every part of you, including your rosy smooth beautiful cheeks.” Tiffany pushed him away & blushed, “Stop embarrassing me, Yeobo.”

“It’s always the husband’s duty to dote on his wife.” Keunsuk nodded, “You got that right. They say that we embarrass them too much with our affection but if we don’t give them enough or stop, they will get angry & upset with you.” Jejung nodded. Sooyoung pinched Keunsuk’s upper arm. She then reached over to pinch Jejung, “That goes for you, too. I think that you two will be lost without me & Tiffany here by your side.” They both smiled sheepishly back at her, knowing that that was indeed true. Jejung got up from his chair & then helped Tiffany out of hers, “Well, we better get going now.”

“Aw, come on, stay for a while longer?” Sunny asked, pouting “I hardly ever see Tiffany anymore. Give us more time together? It’s been so hard to hang out now with you by her side practically every waking minute, actually sleeping minute as well.” Jejung shook his head & didn’t dare contradict his spitfire friend, “I want time with my wife. I had a romantic evening all planned for the both of us but because of your insistence, we ended up having to come here & eat instead.” Tiffany gasped at his words. Jejung patted her arm which was linked with his own, “Not that I don’t enjoy being with you guys as well but if it’s okay with all you lovely people here, can we please leave & embark on our romantic evening?” Sunny grinned, “Okay, fine, I will let you guys go. I miss romantic evenings.” She said, eying Siwon, “But new reside doctor doesn’t have a romantic bone in his body anymore. All he cares about are the bones in everyone else’s bodies that he checks.”

“Hope you can take that major hint, Dr. Choi.” Tiffany said. Siwon nodded, pulling Sunny closer to him, “I will definitely act upon that hint.” Jejung nodded at his friend, “Okay, now we will be going. Thanks for the lovely dinner as always, Soo. See you guys later.” He walked out, carefully leading Tiffany to the front where the valet quickly drove his car back to him. As Jejung went to go tip the valet, someone brushed passed Tiffany & pressed an envelope into her hand, “Someone told me to give this to you, miss.” Tiffany gasped & nodded, knowing very well what it was. She quickly pocketed it before Jejung could notice. She smiled, pretending that the exchange never happened as Jejung walked back over to her & opened the car door, helping her inside, “Ready to go?” She nodded & he drove off to their destination. During the ride, Tiffany’s hand itched to go inside her pocket to feel what was written to her this time.
