Luhan's POV

 

Flashback

 

"How about mixing Grey Group and Park Belle for our new project?" Mrs. Park chimed.

"That would be a great idea!" My mom cheered, "So? What do you think?" She turned to look at me.

At that time, I was litteraly frozen on my seat. I can't do anything, my mind was wandering off and I was afraid that this kind of thing would happen the moment I defended Eun Gi.

"I mean it's a great idea right? This project is worth billions of dollars," Mrs. Park smiled, "Besides, you guys make a great couple."

 

"Dad can we talk? Mom, you too." I said, leaving to the study room. Dad followed. Mom smiled to Mrs. Park as she said, "Please excuse my rude son."

"What is it?" My dad asked.

"Mom, dad, seriously? An arranged marriage? This is insane, this is way out of our deal five years ago!" I screamed loud enough for So Ra and her mom to hear.

"Lower your voice!" My mom hit me as she continued, "Our project is worth billions of dollars, we need it, we need them to cooperate with us. You guys went to the same school and I love So Ra. She's kind, smart and pretty. What more could you possibly want?"

"Dad please!" I begged.

"Enough!" My dad said, "You guys are going to get engaged no matter what. But I acknowledge that you're too young to get engaged now, so I suppose you get along now as boyfriend and girlfriend."

"Please dad I'm begging you! I want to get engaged, but not now. And especially with that monster outside!"

 

And I crossed the line, my mom slapped me hard on my face as she left the room. My father sat still, "Now tell me Luhan." There was a short pause, "Do you have someone you like?"

"As a matter of fact, I do." I defended myself.

"Ah, young love. Sometimes, young love could be so immature it could leave to sudden death." My father smiled, "Should I remember the incident that happened ten years ago? I'm sure you wouldn't mind."

My body stiffened. I began to tremble as flashbacks entered my mind.

 

I was naive and I was only eight years old back then when that thing happened.

 

It was a cold winter at December, Christmas lights were on and many Christmas trees were put up on the streets. I was in love, with a girl next door. But my father disagreed with our relationship. Why? You must think that a girl living next door to our mansion must have a great house and perfect life. No. Next door as in she lives right under our house.

Her mother was a maid in our house and she lived here since she had no where to go. We kept our love secret for many months, but my dad found out eventually.

I was going to meet her on Christmas day. I have something to do first so I told her I'll meet her up late. She waited and waited. When I finally arrived, I was on top of a overpass and she was down there, waving at me. I smiled and waved back, I ran to the other side to go down, but it was covered with many people so I struggled to run.

Then, in a second, a shrieking sound was heard and a car crash was heard. I ran down as fast as I could and saw her lying helplessly on the ground with blood covering her body. I looked at the car plate and realized.

 

That car was mine.

 

My father, he did this. She was brought into a hospital and I begged the doctors and nurses to do whatever they could to save her. But it was too late. She was already gone.

I stormed to my house and made the house into chaos. My father did this to teach me a lesson. And we made a deal ever since, he won't hurt anyone close to me as long as I obeyed every and single rule he gave me. It was a lesson I'll never forget.

After that incident, I locked myself in my room and didn't come out for weeks. I almost died but my father saved me. He punished me for that and after that incident, I changed. I was traumatized by that I couldn't afford to lose anyone important again, or this time, I could die. That's when EXO M came into my life and supported me. They kept it secret and comforted me. I could heal from that wound and I promised, I will never ever break any rules my father gave me.

 

"N-No, dad." I managed to say, "I'll marry So Ra."

"Good, now run along. I'll book an interview on TV for the whole world to know." My father smiled and left the room.

I fell on my knees as I cried, "Eun Gi.... I'm sorry." I couldn't help but sigh, "I did this because I don't want anyone close to me get hurt again. I can't bear that kind of pain anymore. All you'll see on TV tomorrow would be an act." There was a long pause, "I love you Eun Gi."

 

End of flashback

 

I hugged Eun Gi from behind and I hid my face on her shoulder, "Let's stay like this for a while. I've missed this."

"Lies." She said as she broke our hug, her face was filled with tears as she said, "Go and hug your girlfriend, I'm sure you'll love with more than what you did just now. I'm just a toy who got fooled all along." She cried and ran away.

But I couldn't stop her. No matter how much I wanted to run after her, no matter how much I wanted to hug and plant a kiss on her lips, I can't. I don't want anyone to be hurt. Especially not Eun Gi.

 

Heavy rain started to pour and I ran down to the restaurant. The whole table looked at me like I was crazy and Lay asked, "Eun Gi? Where is she? Don't tell me you left her alone."

"Yes, I left her alone, drenched in the rain. I said harsh things for her to hate me and she left crying. I was a jerk to her and she ran away from me. Enough for you?"

"You did what?" Lay stood up, making a fist with his hand.

"I said, I-" I was about to repeat what I said, but Lay cut me off with his fist, flying to my face. I fell on my back as the chairs collapsed. The costumers there looked terrified as whispered was heard.

"Whoa whoa hyung! Stop it! You're scaring me!" Tao cried.

Lay stopped as he grabbed his jacket, "If I can't find her, you're dead." He said and left the restaurant.

I walked on the streets with my head hung low. The rain was pouring hard and I was relieved so that people can't see the tears flowing down my cheeks. So Ra's the one I love, not you. Luhan's words echoed around my mind. Why was I feeling this? I didn't love him. I loved Lay. Lay's my boyfriend and who the hell is Luhan to me?

I walked and walked to clear my mind, but the more I did that, the more it hurts. I remembered the day where Luhan brought me to the amusement park. When he gave me the small pink carrousel. I almost fell for him that day. He looked so sincere the way he cared for me. But I was thankful I didn't fall for him.

Or it'll hurt much worse than this. But was I hurting so bad? Damn this heart of mine. I sat on a bench near the streets and started crying again. The rain poured and poured but that didn't bother me.

 

Flashbacks

 

"Didn't your mother teach you any respect? She isn't the garbage bin, you are punk." Luhan threw the paper at him.

 

"Drugs huh?"

"Don't tell me, are you addicted?!" Luhan laughed playfully.

 

"I came here to give you this."

"I borrowed it for you since you don't have your library card yet. And since you left the library with that hideous face because of me." Luhan laughed as he held his pink umbrella on top of us.

 

"I'm so glad you're okay."

"Just stay like this for a while."

"Just for a little longer." Luhan hugged me tighter.

 

"Have a good long rest Eun Gi, stay healthy." Luhan said after he kissed my forehead.

 

"I can get sick, it's you who can't." Luhan waited for me in the cold weather for hours.

"Don't get sick princess, or this mighty knight would get worried."

"Let Lay be Prince Charming, I want to be the knight in shining armor. I can't protect you if I become Prince Charming, I want to protect you. I need to protect you. I won't be a coward like last time, even if it means I won't get the girl."

 

"It reminds you of your happy moments right? I don't want you to be sad, so look at it and be happy." Luhan winked on the big Ferris Wheel on our date after he gave me the pink carrousel.

 

"I hope you won't be mad at me for doing that. And please don't delete them since it took me some time to send them to you. And that way you won't ever have to miss me again." The message said as soon as I saw Luhan's selca.

 

"I love you too Eun Gi." Luhan texted me.

Oh god..... Please don't tell me I've fallen for him. I looked down to the ground as I kept remembering those flashbacks of me and him. How could someone be so cruel? How could someone act as good as that? I mean, he looked like he cared about me yet he has the chance to hurt me like this.

Hurt? Yes, I'll admit it. I am hurt. But I don't know why. Luhan's a bad jerk. He's a deceiver, a liar. A stupid deer. I hate him.

The rain started to faint and as my thoughts wander off again,  I opened my eyes and saw a blonde with thick eyebrows staring at me with his smile and purple umbrella. 

 

"What the hell." I said to myself as he smiled, "Good night Ms. Seo, I suppose you were having fun showering outside in the rain." He teased.

"What do you want?" I rolled my eyes.

"Tsk tsk, so grumpy. I just got back from my field trip yet you didn't miss me at all?" He said dramatically, then he eyed me from head to toe, "My my, we really need to work on that."

"Work on what?"

"You do know that you're completely drenched and your dress is sticking to your body right?" He grinned as I looked down and covered my body with my arms, "What's to hide? You have great curves so why hide it?" He teased.

"Shut up Nichkhun!" I yelled.

He smirked, "You know, that's the first time I heard you call my name. I'm touched."

"Whatever, I'm going away from here."

"Wait, your house is like so far away, my dorm is just around the corner. People will start spreading rumors about you and stupid drunk s might you. So I suggest we go to my dorm. How about that?" Nichkhun smiled.

I must admit, as the one in charge for the school administration, he is pretty good at remembering my address. It would take at least three hours to walk to my house. I was afraid the and I was tired. And I was not in the mood to argue, so what the heck.

"Fine. But I'm going after showering."

"I didn't know you'd agree so soon. I was preparing some good arguments but since you've agreed," He held my hand, "Let's go!" He cheered and led the way as I groaned and rolled my eyes playfully.

 

I must admit, Nichkhun did made my day slightly better.

"AAAHHH!" I screamed the moment I stepped inside Nichkhun's dorm.

"What? What? What is it?" Nichkhun quickly went inside to check what was going on and sighed, "Guys, come on. I told you we have a guest coming over. Why?" He groaned.

"Sorry, I didn't know you'd bring a girl here." I heard a deep as husky voice.

 

As I stepped in, I could see five boys half as they did some work out. After minutes of changing, I went inside and went straight to the shower. Nichkhun gave me a pair of skinny jeans and a plain black v-neck shirt. He said it was his friend's sister who lived right under them.

I didn't argue and took my time showering. Then I went out to the living room. It smelled completely like sweat shirts and gym socks. This place is something else.

 

"Hi there!" A cute boy came to me and chimed, "I'm Junho, nice to meet you!"

"Umm, hi. I'm Eun Gi, Seo Eun Gi." I smiled.

Then he led me to the room next to the living room, "Hey guys! Meet the new transfer student!"

"Yo, wassup. I'm Taecyeon."

"Hi I'm Chansung." 

"Hi there! You can call me Junsu or Jun.K" He smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck, "I like to use nicknames since it looks cool."

I couldn't help but chuckle, then the cute and handsome one greeted, "Hi, I'm Wooyoung. Nice to meet you. And I'm sorry about what happened earlier. You shouldn't have seen that."

"No worries." I grinned, "Anyway, I'm going now. Thank you for letting me use your shower."

"You're going? Now? It's still raining. You could stay some more if you want." Junho said, then he turned to look at Nichkhun, "Hyung! Help me with this."

Nichkhun grinned, "He's right you know? Someone called for you and he said to wait here until he comes."

"Maybe just for awhile." I smiled and sat on the floor.

 

They did make my day better anyway by getting my mind out of the troubles I got into earlier. So why bother leaving now?

"Okay then! Let's play dare or dare!" Junho chimed.

We sat in a circle as each of us wrote a dare to do in a small piece of paper. And then, we folded the small piece of paper into smaller and way smaller pieces. We scattered the papers in the center of the circle. Chansung tossed the papers and each of us took one paper.

My dare was kind of stupid but I think it was normal. Sing "All Day I Think About You."

 

"Okay guys, we'll start from our guest here and then we go counterclockwise." Wooyoung said.

"Here goes nothing..." I took a deep breath and sung the song. I was given the song lyrics and I have heard the song before so it was kind of easy to remember.

I finished singing and the guys clapped like mad.

"Wohhooo! Where did that lovely sound come from? Like seriously man, that voice is awesome!" Taecyeon said.

"It was nothing really. Shall we continue?" I said.

"Okay then, Nichkhun!"

 

​"I umm, this is stupid." He complained.

But then the bell rang. Chansung got up, "I'll get it."

Everyone focused on Nickhun's dare again. "What is? Let me see." Jun.K went over to look at his paper. He laughed out loud as he yelled, "Nichkhun's dare is too kiss Eun Gi!"

 

"Oh no he won't." The guest with dark hair said out loud as he clenched his fist.
