There were screams and a loud crash that made Julia pull away from Myungsoo's embrace. Myungsoo turned his head to the direction of the door that was left ajar. Grabbing her arms, he pulled her up. 

"Jagi, what..."

"You're not safe here." he told her, his tone was icy. "Come on." he laced his fingers with hers and pulled her behind him. She just nodded, she was no longer groggy or disorientated. Her mind was alert and she was ready to fight whatever was to come her way.

Another scream and a crash made her jump which made Myungsoo hold her hand tighter, to reassure that she would be fine as long as she held onto him. He turned to her, his lips forming a thin line. He placed his finger over his lips to tell her to be quiet and she nodded to show that she understood. Her boyfriend gave a small smile before turning away to the door. 

He peered through the small crack to see what was the commotion outside. He saw a reddish pink hue hitting the ground of the building they were on, shining light on the fallen soldiers and fallen aliens from combat. He knew dawn was approaching and they needed to get out of here. Everyone knew that the aliens were at their strongest during the day. 

"Alright, the coast is clear. Let's go." he whispered but didn't look at her when he said so. He yanked her out of their hiding place and they dashed out. Julia tried to look forward but her gaze would often shift to the dead bodies around her, most of them dismembered. She wanted to close her eyes but her curiousity got the better of her. 

The sound of their footsteps were heard in the empty building, echoing through the walls. Her heart was beating hard and she was gasping for air out of fear and also from running. Her legs felt like jelly as they continued running, jumping and avoiding falling things from ceilings. The structure of the building was weak and she wasn't sure if their running would cause it to crumble. 

They reached the fire exit and Myungsoo kicked the door open, knowing well that he had no time to check the handle. The door slam against the wall resounding to a loud crash. Julia winced and prayed that no aliens would find them. So much for keeping quiet! 

Julia and Myungsoo scrunched up their noses when they entered the stairwell, the smell of decomposing bodies and blood smothered them. Julia coughed and felt like gagging at both the sight and smell. 

"Where is everyone else?" 

He hesitated at first, she saw his muscles tensed when she asked him. "Not now, Jules." 

"Myungie, where are they? Where is my brother?" 

A blood curling howl made them stop dead in their tracks. Julia turned to face Myungsoo who had a grim expression and she couldn't phantom what could cause him to have such an expression on his face.
