I shot up in my bed and scrambled to find my phone hidden somewhere in my covers before quickly hitting “answer.”

“H-Hello?” I stuttered as I tried to bring my heartbeat back down to a reasonable pace. I mentally cursed as the my voice rumbled huskily from my sleep.

“I’m sorry did I wake you up?” It took me a while to recognize the voice but when I did, I straightened myself up, wide awake in an instant.

“L-Luhan?! N-No...well yes, but it’s alright. I swear, it’s fine.” I hustled trying to get the right words out of my mouth. Yes, he woke me up. Yes, I was tired, but I didn’t want him to hang up just yet. “What time is it anyways?” I asked him.

“2am.” He replied.

“Why are you up so late?” I asked him in confusion. He chuckled a bit.

“I had rehe-....work to do.” I wanted to ask him what he was originally going to say, but decided to leave it. Besides, my mind was too slow to comprehend anything anyways.

“I thought you weren’t going to call me after all.” I told him. It was 3 days after we had met, I didn’t hear a single word from him after the text the other day. Eventually, I gave up.

“Sorry, I had been busy for the last few days.” He said. “I shouldn’t really be calling you so late, sorry about that. I’ll let you sleep now.”

“No!” I exclaimed a bit too fast. “No. It’s okay, really. I want to talk to you.”

I heard him chuckle on the other line. “Alright.” He said. “What do you want to talk about?”

“Hm...I don’t know...how old are you?” I asked him. The image of his sweet, angelic face never failed to leave my mind. His eyes, his nose, his lips, his complexion, everything was perfect.

“21.” He replied.

“W-Wait seriously?!” I exclaimed in shock. And then I remembered my mom sleeping in the room down the hall. “You don’t seem that old at all.” I said in a lower voice.

He laughed. “But I am!”

I let out a breath of exasperation from the newly obtained information.

“How old are you?” He asked me. “17. I’m a late 1994 baby.” I replied.

“Oh really? You’re the same age as my roommate.” He said. “Well two of them.”

“Two? How many do you live with?” I asked him. He paused for a second. Suddenly there was a voice on the other end of the phone.

“Luhan-hyung, who are you talking to?” The voice was unusually deep and triggered something in my memory but I couldn’t place wrap my head around who it was exactly.

“Just a friend.” Luhan replied simply.

“Well you should go to sleep soon hyung. We have practice tomorrow morning.” The mystery voice said.

“Yes I will. You go first. Goodnight.” Luhan said. The other voice answered with a ‘goodnight’ and we were left in silence again. By then, I had almost fallen back to sleep and stifled a tired yawn but he seemed to catch me.

“You must be tired, I’ll leave you to sleep then.” Luhan said sweetly into the phone.

“But” I yawned. “I don’t want you to hang up.”

“What do you want me to do then?” He asked.

“Stay on the phone with me until I fall asleep?” I mumbled. I could barely hear my own voice anymore. It was surprising that he actually understood what I said.

“Alright.” He replied. There was a long pause, I had closed my eyes already, the phone barely hanging on in my hands. “Hey Yoonae...”

“Hmm?”

“Did you ever see me before? I mean...before the other day.” He asked.

“Hmm....nope.” I mumbled. “We just met two days ago.”

“I mean you’ve never seen me around before?” He asked me. “Anywhere?”

“....nope....” It was silent again.

“Luhan-shii?” I called to him after a long moment to confirm whether he was still there or not.

“Yes?” He replied.

“Can you sing to me?” I asked him. Without another word, he began singing.

The song was foreign to me. I had never heard it before, but it was nice. His voice...made me feel something I had never felt before. It made me feel warm, secure...safe.

With that, I fell asleep.

Luhan-shii...I think I’m really falling for you.
