“What are you doing?” I asked Ji Eun as she sat at the lunch table tapping at Kai’s phone.

“Trying to figure this out.” She replied briefly as she took a sip of her chocolate milk.

“You’ve been going at it for 2 days now.” I replied. “Why don’t you just leave it, someone is bound to call it sooner or later.”

“But I want to see what’s inside!” She exclaimed in frustration. “Yoonae help me!”

I shrugged. “I couldn’t care less about what’s inside. It’s just a phone.”

“It’s not just a phone! It’s Kai’s phone!” She replied. “I swear this is never going to work! I can’t get it to- I GOT IT!”

I jumped back as she screamed and held the phone up in victory.

“I GOT IT! I GOT IT! YOONAE! I GOT IT! SEE?”

I sighed and rolled my eyes. “What was the password?” I asked her. Watch it be something stupid like-

“1234.” She replied in a matter-of-factly tone. I dropped my forehead onto the table in front of me and flinched as it impacted.

“Seriously?” I mumbled. “You’re hopeless.”

“Hey! I’m not hopeless! I got it to open!”

“And you couldn’t try that ahead of time?” I asked her. “‘1234’” I mocked. “SERIOUSLY?!”

She giggled a bit. “On the bright side, we can call them now!” I watched as she began scrolling through the contacts. Suddenly, she squealed and took out her own phone and began tapping madly at it.

“What are you doing?” I asked her, leaning over to catch a glimpse of her screen. She was adding a new contact to the list. I stared at the new name: CHANYEOLLIE-OPPA!

“Gimme that.” I growled as I took Kai’s phone away from her before she could get the number down. I looked at the contact that was already on the page. “Who is this ‘Chanyeol’ person anyways?”

She gasped in horror. “YOU DON’T KNOW CHANYEOL?! HOW COULD YOU?! YOU EVIL-”

“Is he an EXO member?”

“Yes.”

“That’s all I needed.” I hit call and quickly walked away, leaving a dumbfounded Ji Eun sitting at the table.

The phone rang several times before anyone picked up. Just as I was expecting to leave a message, there was a slight click followed by the ring of a very, very deep voice.

“Yobeosaeyo?” The background was extremely loud with several outbursts at a time and music playing as well.

“Yes, this is Park Yoonae, I am calling because I picked up this phone 2 days ago and I was wondering if I could return it to Kai-shii.” I said.

“Um...hang on, would you like to speak to Jong In himself?” The voice replied. I paused for a second. Jong In....who?

I turned back to Ji Eun who had caught up by then. “Who’s Jong In?” I asked her with my hand covering the receiver.

She rolled her eyes. “Jong In is Kai’s real name.” She said as if it was the most obvious fact in the world. I glared at her and returned to the phone.

“That would be nice, please and thank you.”

“Hang on a second.” The voice said. Before a series of shuffling and shouting was heard all over again.

“Who was it? Who was it?” Ji Eun asked with a bright smile on her face as she hopped up and down.

“That ‘Chanyeol’ person you were creeping earlier.” I replied. She gasped but then frowned.

“I WANNA TALK TO HIIIIMMM.” She protested. A few people passing by were staring at us again.

“Yobeosaeyo?” A new voice greeted on the other line. I quickly hushed my friend before replying the speaker.

“Kai-shii? This is Yoonae, the girl that you erm.....bumped into...in the changeroom? Two days ago?”

“WHAT? YOU NEVER TOLD ME THAT!” I ignored Ji Eun’s outburst in the background as she kept going on about what on Earth the celebrity and I could have been doing in a changeroom together and now her suspicions about me “stealing” his phone.

“O-Oh...yes, sorry about that. I had some issues with fans. You didn’t give anyone my number did you?” He automatically became suspicious too. I glared at my friend some more, if she wasn’t beside me making all these remarks then there wouldn’t be a need to explain myself.

“No. I just found the phone that day and couldn’t get it unlocked until today in order to contact you.”

“You unlocked my phone?” He asked in the same accusing voice. “Gee thanks.”

“I didn’t do it. My friend did, she was playing with it.” I replied. His attitude was starting to annoy me.

“Oh, so you did give it to your friends.”

“One friend!” I exclaimed. “YOU KNOW WHAT, DO YOU WANT YOUR PHONE OR NOT?!”

It was silent for a while on the other end. The background music was cut too. I stared blankly at the device for a bit.

“Hello?” I called into the speaker. No response. “Hello? Kai? Anyone?”

-beep beep beep-

He....just....hung up on me. THE BASTARD JUST HUNG UP ON ME! I was so tempted to just take the device and throw it on the floor without mercy but then I reminded myself that the phone did no harm to me.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated in my hands. I unlocked it to find a text.

CHANYEOL: This is Kai. Meet me at the park by Kyunghee University. 2:30am tonight.
