Pain Can Cure
I'll Never Break Your HeartThe day was exhausting! After multiple boring lessons for my sciences like Biology and Chemistry, I had Maths. Then, I had sports; an after school activity. I was fully active in Netball and enjoyed playing it but today's friendly match with another school nearby made me injure myself bad. I was pushed, shoved and tackled everywhere. Maybe because that's their way of obstructing, I didn't really mind.
So, I was limping when I got back home. I was taking my time going home. I usually don't let Mum and Dad see me in pain because they would both be a nervous goose. Looking at the condition of my leg, I've no choice but to act it out well. It really hurts, nothing like what I have experienced in any of my other matches. My limping started to get very obvious.
He retreated from the window and had a plan. He got dressed up and drove off to the nearby mart.
Mum was sewing clothes and dad was busy with his hobby of assembling a pirate ship in a huge glass bottle, something my grandfather loved to do. Ever since he passed away, Dad have been actively getting involved in the activity.
Me: I'm home.
Mum: Hi dear! How's school?
Her voice drowned in between the sewing machine's loud rattling.
Me: School's school. Nothing can change that.
Dad: Or so I heard.
He said sarcastically. I went upstairs to wash up and change into comfortable nighties. I really didn't want to come down because I didn't like the idea of making my leg suffer but since I know my parents would be suspicious, I just came down. Thankfully, they were still drowned in their own business. My long pants played a part too.
Ding Dong.
Me: [Thought] Who can that be?
Dad: The door's not locked. Come in!
He said out loud and continue with his focus on the Pirate ship.
When that person entered, I started to beam my brightest smile ever. He is all I needed when I'm in pain.
