Kai: Good Evening, Mr and Mrs Yi!

Yes, my best friend has arrived. He was looking as sleek as ever though he was wearing a simple Tee and jeans. With plastic bags on both hands, he went straight to the kitchen. Mum was just finishing up her sewing and followed Kai while Dad also shelved his bottled ship and went out. I was somehow dumbfounded to see Kai here, at my house. It was his first visit since the dinner around 2 nights ago.

Mum: Kai, what are you doing here?

Kai: I just came by to say hi.

Dad: Hi!

All of us giggled.

Kai: Hi, sir.

After the short greetings, Kai invited Dad to a basketball match. Dad was surely up for it since he was in School Team last time. Dad went to the backyard and asked me to get him our basketball from the closet. Just as I was trying to get up without making my pain obvious, Kai came running in and pushed down my waist and kissed my forehead while smiling, making me land on the sofa. He headed towards the closet, took out the basketball and attended to Dad.

Dad was having fun, I should say. He kept on smiling and their loud high-fives could be heard from the kitchen where Mum was making some lemonade.

Dad: Boy, that was a nice 3-pointer you did there.

Kai: Thank you sir.

Dad then jumped and did himself justice by doing a 3-pointer also.

Kai: Back at you sir!

Dad: Thank you, Kai!

Mum was stirring the jug of lemonade when the 2 boys came in. Why did I call my dad a boy? Well, let’s just say Basketball changes him. Or boys in general. Both them were coming in an gave each other another round of high-fives to indicate a good game. Kai sat beside me while dad was sitting at another long couch. He patted at the seat beside him for mum and she came along with the drink. Kai took it away from her to place it on the table and took for himself a glass. I was reaching in front for the box of tissue and began wiping the dripping sweat from his forehead. Dad got somehow jealous of my actions and began joking around.

Dad: Dear, why do Kai get his sweat wiped by JiEun and I don’t get anything from you?

A normal girl would usually blush from this but since I could detect his sarcasm, and so did Kai, Kai bend closer to me and I began wiping his neck. We were both acting really well that made Mum jealous and took a couple of tissue papers to wipe Dad too.

Kai and I began laughing uncontrollably and began watching Strong Heart. Mum went to the kitchen to get some cookies from the cabinet.

Mum: Do anyone of you want anything else while I’m in here?

Dad, Kai and I looked at each other to see if anyone needs anything.

Dad: Nope, dear. Now come here. I wanna watch Full House. It’s always you and JiEun get to watch it together.

I was craving for something but I didn’t want my parents to know because I know they would literally go out and buy for me. So, I snuggle up next to Kai and mumbled under my breath.

Me: [Mumble] I really want ice-cream.

Kai though he heard something so he turned and asked me.

Kai: [Under a low tone] You do? Cherry, right?

Me: Yeah.

Kai: Do you eat Tiramisu?

Has he been stalking me? I never told anyone about my devotion towards Tiramisus. How did he..?

Me: My favorite.

Kai smiled and went over to the kitchen. He passed by mum and opened the fridge.

Mum: Kai, I thought you didn’t need anything?

As Mum took a seat at her seat, dad was putting in the disc into the video player. Kai came in with the plastic bag had earlier. He started distributing sticks of ice-cream to us.

Kai: Mint and Chocolate Chip for Mrs Yi..

Mum: My my! Thank you my dear! It’s my favorite.

Kai: ..and the exotic flavor, Durian, for Mr Yi.

Dad: Sweet! How did you know?

Kai looked over at me and said,

Kai: Lucky guess.

Then, he opened my packet of ice-cream and gave me my Cherry flavored ice-cream. I thank him and took it away from him. Man, it is as though he could read my mind. Weird.

Soon, the drama started. We didn’t watch all the way from the beginning because it would take a ridiculously long time to finish so we skipped it all the way to the middle where the main characters were starting to fall for each other. Mum and Dad fell asleep with heads against each other while Kai and I were still watching it. My brain became sleepy so I decided to make an empty talk to wake myself up.

Me: So Kai, where do you school?

Kai: I don’t.

I never really judge people so I didn’t continue. Stupid! Now it’s gonna be an awkward situation.

Kai: I’ve completed it. In fact, I’m going into a Military School. I’m applying to get a job at SWAT Team.

I was rather relief because I thought he dropped out or something.

Me: Ouh, really? It has always been my dream to be a female policewoman when I grow up.

Kai: And then what happened?

Me: Then reality happened. I realize that I’m at the risk of death at any moment when I enter the Force.

There was a silence that filled up for a moment.

Kai: Then let me fulfill that dream for you.

I smiled at him and he placed his arm over my shoulder. We snuggled up again and watched the drama again.

Hey hey hey!~ It's my first day of fasting and I'm getting all weak T-T~ It's gonna be time to break fast soon so please wait fer my second douple update at 10 KST:D!~ Anyway, this is only da first part. The second part should be short cos I just need to end this part of the Best-friend story.
