March 15th, 2016

It had been about a month Since the hospital incident, and everyone was back in Korea, including Shawkat. Shawkat was staying at hotel for the time being while Nayoung continued living with the boys.

However, both Nayoung had Yoseob acted as if nothing had happened in Japan. They had gone back to being best friends only, teasing, yelling and fighting with each other. Although no one else noticed, Doojoon saw them looking longingly at each other when the other was not looking.

The B2ST boys were confused by their attitude, but Doojoon had stopped the boys from meddling in. They knew something big must have happened and did not ask farther, and it’s not like Doojoon would have been able to give any answers as he himself was waiting for direction from Shawkat.

Shawkat had been silent in this duration, except for the fact that he would show up every once in a while to check on Nayoung’s health. He had taken up a project in Seoul on behalf of his company that his colleague was to do so he could stay longer with Nayoung. Their mother had been notified of Nayoung’s situation, to both their despair, and wanted to come to Seoul right then but Shawkat had stopped her. Now she calls at least 3 times a day to keep track of her daughter’s health.

That evening, Nayoung had left early to go get dressed to go to this event that her brother’s company was throwing. When the boys came home, they saw an angry Shawkat standing in front of Nayoung’s door.

GET OUT RIGHT THIS INSTANT!” He yelled as he knocked on the door, frustrated.

The boys slowly got to the kitchen to get drinks, but kept an eye on the drama that was unfolding in front of them.

Why can’t you just take your wife instead of me to this thing?” Nayoung yelled back from inside her room.

Shawkat clenched his fists and closed his eyes in an attempt to calm himself, “Because she is pregnant AND A THOUSAND MILES AWAY!” He gritted through his teeth before shouting the end.

Doojoon tapped Shawkat’s shoulder to get his attention and asked what’s wrong through his facial expressions. He just shrugged in reply and pointed to his watch to indicate that she was taking too long to get ready. Doojoon nodded sympathetically when Nayoung opened the door.

Unlike usual, her long hair was let down to flow freely, that covered up the extremely low back of her y dress. The midnight blue chiffon dress had a sweetheart neck line with straps, flowing A-line skirt had a split at the front that showed off her surprisingly toned legs. She paired the dress with silver stilettos and long silver earrings, a single silver bracelet on her right hand. The light make up made the boys, and especially Yoseob, remember how beautiful she actually was.

However, the frown on her face did not suit her outfit at all. She glared at her brother while the boys stared at her in awe. “Please do explain why I had to wear this?

Apparently you’re somewhat of a celebrity.” Her brother taunted, “So one of the companies attending the conference insisted you wear their clothes.

But my bruises are showing!” She nagged like a little kid as she pulled her hair away to show a pale bruise on her back that had yet to heal. Yoseob gasped lightly before averting his gaze and walking into his room with his drink. Nayoung was the only one that saw him leave out of the corner of her eyes, slightly disappointed.

Well I told you not to ride the bike in your condition!” Her brother spat back.

Whatever, let’s go.” She suddenly said, surprising even her brother. She turned around to look at the boys, “So I made dinner so please don’t go destroying the fridge, it’s on top of the stove. Hyung, make sure they all actually eat and not just go to sleep. Oh! Please take that make up off before you sleep. And PLEASE do actually sleep. I’ll be late I better come back to see everyone asleep.” Everyone nodded as she waved them goodbye and left, followed by her brother.

The event was held in the ballroom of a 7-star hotel. Musicians were playing classical music when Nayoung walked in with arm on her brother’s. As soon as they stepped in media started taking their pictures, surprising Nayoung.

“So I guess he wasn’t lying” Nayoung thought to herself at her brother’s previous remark, but was stunned even farther when the reporters started asking her brother questions related to his project. She looked at him baffled, but he just smirked and politely answered all the questions. At one point, one of the reporters turned to Nayoung asked, “How does it feel to be related to one of the greatest minds of today?

Nayoung knew her brother was good at what he did, but she never thought he’d be good enough to be a public figure like this, specially when he hated people. With a smug look her brother nodded to give her the go ahead to answer. She turned to the crowd and smiled, “Well let me answer in Korean for that... The thing is, even though he is a public figure, he still is my brother. And as any sister would say, he is a pain to live with,” making everyone laugh and Shawkat frown.

What did you say?” He asked under his breath as he still kept smiling at the crowd.

The truth.” She whispered back before continuing her interview. “But truth be told, even though he is annoying as hell most of the times, he is a great brother and a great human being. And I’m not just saying that to get money out of him, he truly cares about the people around him.”

The reporters awed, confusing Shawkat even more, but he didn’t think about it too much. AS the reporters left they slowly made their way through the crowd when Shawkat saw an important client he wanted to greet, so he told Nayoung to wait as he made his way toward the client.

Bored, Nayoung decided to head to the bar so she had at least somewhere to sit as she couldn’t see the dinner table. On her way to the bar, Nayoung did turn a few heads as the exotic beauty, but didn’t notice because she never does. When she sat down at the bar, the bartender came a little too eagerly and she was about politely refuse him, she heard a very familiar and very annoying voice call out her name.

“Nayoung? At this party?” The girl scoffed. “Isn’t this a little too high class for you?”

“Sasha... You know what? I will take that red wine.” Nayoung muttered to the bartender venomously before turning towards her, “What brings you here?” She said with a fake, bright smile.

“For your kind information, my daddy threw this party.” Sasha quipped, pretentiously flicking her hair back with an air of arrogance.

Even the bartender scoffed at her attitude as he was passing Nayoung her red wine, making Nayoung smile and Sasha furious.

“Ugh... who hired such low class bartenders?” Sasha scoffed as the bartender moved away to serve another person. “Anyways what brings you here?” She said eyeing Nayoung up and down.

“For your kind information, this party was thrown for my brother.” Nayoung snobbishly replied. “I guess it’s their way of begging to my brother.”

Nayoung smirked as she could see that she had clearly hit a nerve with that comment. Sasha fumed, “Well I guess not everyone in your family is useless.”

Nayoung quickly looked at her brother, who had seen what was going on. He quickly winked at Nayoung before continuing his conversation with his client. She frowned at his reaction, realizing that her brother is too smart for his own good.

Sasha continued on her own, “And you make that dress look hideous, if I knew it would be put on you, I would have told the designer not to give you the dress.”

Nayoung quickly turned to Sasha, her eyes all big and apologetic all of a sudden, “Well we can’t all be perfect like you Sasha-shi, with amazing brains and looks.” There was a hint of mischief in Nayoung’s eyes, that Sasha quickly caught.

Still, utterly bewildered, she asked, “Excuse me but what are you saying? You should hate, no fear me.”

“But I do fear you Sasha-shi. No I respect you even more!” Nayoung did her best to sound scared, as if she was trying to appease Sasha. “Even more so after you beat me up...”

Sasha hissed back in anger, “Do not mention that here! No one here knows of that incident. Mention it one more time and I swear it’ll be much worse than last time.”

Nayoung smirked, quite evilly to be honest, evil enough to scare Sasha mindless for a split second. In that split second, Nayoung had grabbed her wine glass, dumped its contents on her own hand before stuffing it into Sasha’s hand. Sasha looked on in bewilderment as the bartender suddenly screamed, “Miss are you okay?” attracting the attention of everyone.

Shawkat sees the commotion from far away and rushes over to Nayoung, with his client following him. They, and all the other guests, stand there stunned seeing a dripping Nayoung who was now crying and apologizing to Sasha.

“I’m sorry Sasha-shi! I didn’t mean to do that.” Real tears were flowing out of her eyes, “If I had know that would offend you, I would’ve never mentioned the beating!” Nayoung loudly gasps as she puts both her hands on and widens her eyes, as if she made a grave mistake and was afraid of the consequences.

“What beating?” Shawkat’s client suddenly asked as Shawkat out an arm around his sister in an attempt to comfort her. The man now turns to Shawkat and sternly asks in English, “What beating is your sister talking about?

Shawkat looked at his sister, who fearfully shook her head but he just tightened his grip around her shoulders and nodded, in an attempt to give her confidence. He then turned to the client, “Sir, a couple of months ago my sister was beaten senseless by some girls at her university because of her association with the B2ST members...” He said, seeming to be holding back his own tears at the painful memory. “This lady happened to be the instigator. Since then my sister has been living in fear of meeting her again and suffering once more. She barely goes to classes anymore...” Shawkat turned to look at his sister as a single tear drop slid down his face, Nayoung crying even harder now. “Sir, if I had known she would be here I would have never every brought her to this party.

The man now looks at Sasha, who was watching the whole silently, too shocked to say anything. Now she turns towards the man, “But daddy I-”

She was cut off as the man raised his hand and whispered something to his secretary, who had been standing beside him like a shadow. Shawkat and Nayoung’s eyes flew open as they realized Sasha was his client’s daughter, and Shawkat started spluttering, “Sir, I did not mean to speak ill of your daughter! If I had known she was your daughter I would have never opened my mouth” He looked at Sasha in bewilderment, “Please I beg you! Do not hurt my sister anymore...

The man raised his hand again to silence, but this time it was meant for Shawkat. His secretary had just finished whispering something to him, when the man said, “She will no longer be hurting your sister.” He now turned to face his daughter, “In fact she will not even be living in the same country as your sister.

Sasha tried to start again but was once more cut off by her father, “You do not get to speak young lady. Not after humiliating me like that in public. If this young man had not said anything I would have never known! There’s even a video circulating the internet!” He was fuming now. “You have shamed me in front this genius man, whose brilliance with a single project has helped this company get to where it is. You have directly harmed the future of this company as I was hoping of recruiting this fine young woman, who is at the top of her class while working on a job that provides no rest. While you just spend the money I have earned for you. But most importantly you have failed me and my upbringing. After your mother I tried my best to fill her void, spending more time with you, working from home. And now you throw wine at her to humiliate her? Again? In my presence? If your mother was alive she’d die of humiliation!” He then turned to his secretary while rubbing his forehead, “Get her out of my sight.” The secretary nodded at some men, who looked like bodyguards, and they “directed” Sasha out of the party. Sasha turned to look at Nayoung one last time, who winked back at her through her tears.

The crowd was now beginning to disperse as Shawkat turned to the man once more, “I am so sorry about this, I shouldn’t have opened my mouth at all, Nazia had told me stay quiet but-

The man cut him off, looking a little tired, “I would’ve found out eventually, and her punishment would have been the same.” He looked at the dripping Nayoung, “We should get her changed before she catches a cold.

I think we should leave,” Shawkat slowly started as Nayoung nodded in agreement, “I don’t think it’s appropriate for us to stay after causing all that commotion.

Nonsense!” The man replied, seeming to be back to normal, “This party was thrown in your favour and we can’t have the guest of honour just leave. Here,” The man pointed to his secretary, “Daeho will lead the way. I do believe they’ll be able to gather some dresses and touch up her make up for her.

Shawkat politely nodded as he started following Daeho to another corner of the hotel, his hands still around his sister’s shoulder but much more loose.

You should get an Oscar for you acting. Although the wine was a little too much.” Shawkat smugly mumbled to his sister.

How else was I supposed to get attention without me actually doing the work to get attention?” She jeered back, “By the way, some heads up would’ve been nice.

Well I wanted to see your improv, haven’t seen such good work in a while.

Oh ha ha.” She sarcastically replied, “But how did you find out who she was and that she was going to be here?

Mostly luck, I just happened to see his daughter’s picture on his desk one day and immediately recognized her.” He answered. “Then I may have hinted that my sister would be more willing to work for you if she knew someone in the company.

Touché” Nayoung replied back, sharing a secret glance with her brother.
