Nayoung went straight downstairs and frantically looked around their hotel building for Yoseob, only he was no where to be seen. Tears were flowing endlessly out her eyes, but she could not understand why she was crying so much. It was her personal information, it was up to her who she disclosed that information to. She knew he only would blame himself if he ever found out the truth, then why did she feel like she betrayed Yoseob by hiding it? Why did it feel like she committed a grave crime by not telling him the truth?

She had lost hope of ever being able to reach Yoseob, and fell to her knees crying. Just then, her phone rang. She was about to turn it off without even looking, but then she saw Yoseob’s name from the corner of her eyes. She wildly picked her phone up, barely holding her tears back to answer, “Gwangho-yah, where are you?? I’ve been lookin-”

“I know,” His cold voice cut her off, “I can see you.”

“You can?” She looked around, getting up and wiping her tears and snot with her sleeves as she did so, “But I don’t see you...”

“I’m on the rooftop” He curtly answered and hung up before she could say anything. Trying hard to calm herself, she madly climbed the stairs all the way up to the roof top, stopping only at the the door to the roof to calm her nerves. When her breathing had slowed down slightly, she suddenly noticed a sharp pain in her right ankle. Ignoring the pain she walked in, and saw Yoseob’s back as he was leaning against the railing. As she stepped closer to him, a sharp pain seared through her body, starting at her stomach. She grabbed her stomach in hopes that the pain would subside, and meekly called out his name, “Gwangho-yah....”

“You know,” Yoseob started without even turning around, “I always thought we trusted each other.” He turned around now, his eyes filled with rage, “Enough to share everything. From the small details to the big important things, EVERYTHING!” He used big hand gestures to signify his anger.

He took a step forward, but due to the darkness he could not see how pale Nayoung’s face had gotten.

“But when your brother told me how badly injured you were, I realized , I know nothing about this girl. Don’t know what her major is, don’t know what she likes or dislikes, not even the fact that she has a brother NOR THAT SHE ALMOST ING DIED SAVING MY ING REPUTATION!” He was panting hard in anger, turned around to face his back to her once more as he went back to lean against the railing.

Tears slowly streamed down her face once more, less from her physical but more so from the pain she knew she had inflicted upon Yoseob. The pain was growing but she ignored it and put her head down to hide her tears.

“I can’t be with someone who doesn’t trust me...” He suddenly said breaking the silence. Nayoung’s head shot up to look at him, disbelief clearly seen on her face.

She stared at him as her heart shattered into thousand pieces. She finally had the courage to be honest about her feelings, but everything came crashing down at that moment. She had lied to him, she had hidden herself from him and even tried to push him away at one point... and this is her punishment for that. Just then, her mother’s face flashed in her mind, reminding her why she had done what she had done.

To not break the hearts of the people she cared about. Her mother, her brother, her father... even Yoseob. She knew she would have to leave him quite soon, and there was no way around it. She would go back to her life, while Yoseob would go back to his, everything returning to the way it was supposed to be.

She roughly wiped her tears away with her available hand, “You’re right.” She said. Yoseob’s head shot up but he didn’t turn, his hands now clenching around the edge of the railing.

“I have hidden many things from you, I guess I really must not trust you.” She continued as the hand around her waist tightened to control the pain. She was starting to see white spots but she forced herself to stay conscious. “Besides this relationship would’ve gone nowhere. I’m an academic while you’re an idol. I like tall guys and honestly, you’re kinda shor-”

She was cut off as Yoseob had suddenly stomped up to Nayoung, stopping only inches from her.

“You idiot!” He snapped, suddenly cupping her face in his hands to look directly into her eyes. Nayoung could now see that he seems to have been crying as well.

“You need to learn to stand up for yourself, for your happiness!” He exclaimed, trying to hold back his tears. Nayoung’s eyes shot open at his suggestion, not clearly understanding what he was saying. “You can’t always be giving in to what others want. If something breaks your hurt so much that you can’t stand it anymore, no matter how happy it makes the other person, you need to fight against it. You need to take care of yourself if you’re not going to let me do it!”

He wiped his tears before holding her in a tight hug, “And trust me, this not making me happy at all. So complain, nag, whine, argue, fight about how much the idea of breaking up is killing you.” She buried her face in chest and cried her heart out, feeling awful about how she will break his heart when he has only been healing her soul. “I know you only hid it from me to protect me from myself, But I still feel awful that you don’t trust me enough to control myself. Weirdo, I-”

He stopped in his tracks when he suddenly felt Nayoung’s body go limp against his. Bothered, he gently shook her as he called out her name, but she did not respond. He shook her a little harder but she still did not respond. He shook her a third time before he realized that she was unconscious.
