AUTHOR's POV

After Soojung got dressed, she head out of her room and meet his parents in their dining room. She greeted her parents with a kissed as well as her older sister who is still groggy. She sat on her usual place, across to her Unnie’s chair.

“Appa, is Yiyun coming here today too to play with me?”she asked her father curiously.

“I don’t know honey. Your Auntie and Uncle Liu haven’t called us yet.”Mr. Jung answered which made the little girl to get disappointed.

“You can play with me today Soojung.” Jessica said to her little sister with a smile to cheer her up. They’re is quiet big but she won’t mind playing a childish game with her little sister.

Soojung curved a smile on her as a response. She wanted to play with Yiyun today. Unlike him, she can’t order her Unnie around. She can’t make her do things she wanted her to do. Her attention was caught when the phone rang and it is her mother who answered it.

Meanwhile in Liu’s residence, Yiyun is playing with her toy cars in his room. He is waiting for his father to take him into the Jung’s house but he find it weird when he feels like his father is taking too long to take him there.

“Mom, where is Dad?”he asked his mother when he find her in their kitchen.

“I think he is on the backyard, honey.”his mother answered him as she turn to him.

“Is he going to take me to Krystal’s house?”he questioned again.

“Do you want to go to Krystal’s house today?”Mrs. Liu asked him and he nodded his head. “I guess I will be the one who will take you there because your Dad is kind of busy today.”she continued which made Yiyun smile.

He waited patiently for his Mom to take him to Krystal’s in their living room. His attention was shifted to their main door when the doorbell rang. He followed his mother behind going to the main door. A smile was drawn to his face when he saw that it is the Jung’s.

“Why did your whole family came into our house?”Yiyun questioned Soojungas he glance on the living room. They were playing in one corner with his toy car and Soojungwith her doll.

“It’s because we are going to America today.”Soojungreplied which made Yiyun turn to her with raised brows.

“America?”he questioned. “Where is that?”

“Dad said that it is very far away and we are going to ride a plane to get there.”Soojungreplied with a tinge of excitement in her voice. Yiyun just stared on her.

“When are you going to come back?” he asked.

“I don’t know.”Soojungshrugged her shoulder.

Yiyun kept quiet. He doesn’t know why but he felt sad hearing that Soojungis leaving. To make sure that Soojungwill come back as soon as possible, he decided to challenge her into a competition. She grabbed Krystal’s hand and dragged her out of their house.

“Krystal, let’s race!”Yiyun said to Soojungwhich made the little girl raised her brows. “If I win, you promise me that you will come back here as fast as you can from America!”

“Why do you want to race with me at this time, stupid?”Soojung questioned.  “I will dirty my clothes if I will race with you now.”she continued.

“You are just afraid of losing against me, aren’t you?” Yiyun mocked. “It is just your excuse for being such a coward.”

“I always win in our race, stupid!”Soojung replied who started to get annoyed by Yiyun.

“Prove it!”Yiyun retorted.

“Fine, I will! If I win, you are going to be my servant forever!” Soojung answered.

Unlike on their previous race, Yiyun is determined to win their competition this time. Soojung who is pissed won’t let Yiyun to win either. They had their race and it is Soojung who won it. Like what she said, she always won their game and Yiyun always lost. He got disappointed to his self and disheartened.

“Starting today, you will be my servant!”Soojung remarked happily with a smirked on her face. It only faded when she noticed the sad expression of her friend. “What’s wrong, stupid?” she questioned him as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

“You are not coming back, aren’t you?”Yiyun asked her with teary eyes which got Soojung speechless.

“Who told you that?”Soojung replied and scoffed.

“But you said that America is far away from here.”Yiyun retorted and pouted.

“It is! But it doesn’t mean that we will stay there forever.”Soojung answered him. “I heard Mom said that it will be just one month.”Soojung continued.

Yiyun began to count the days in a month with his fingers. He knows that it has 31 days but he doesn’t know how many the 31 is. He only know how to count until 20 and for him it is already too long.

“Alright! I promise that I will come back here as soon as possible. “Soojung stated when he noticed that Yiyun’s expression hasn’t changed.

“Do you mean that?” Yiyun questioned with widened eyes.

“Yeah! I don’t want to make you cry everyday because of missing me.” she spoke and giggled.

Yiyun flashed his dorky smile which made Soojung laughed. Soojung always finds it funny seeing Yiyun’s face with that smile.

“I’m tired to walk back so you better carry me.”Soojung demanded.

Soojung hopped on Yiyun’s back. Soojung is quiet heavy for Yiyun because she is indeed taller than the boy. Even though Yiyun is struggling, he kept his balance and made sure that they will reach his house. Soojung is enjoying the free ride that she got from Yiyun.

“Soojung.”Yiyun called his friend’s name.

“What?” Soojung replied.

“I will become taller than you and will become a handsome and cool guy.” Yiyun stated which made Soojung laughed.

“If you grow, I will grow too. Since I am taller than you now, I will remain tall when we grow up.”Soojung stated which made Yiyun sulked.

“You’ll see.” he whispered.

They said their goodbye to each other, thinking that after one month they will see each other again. Yiyun waited for Soojung to come back. He sat down on their porch every day, waiting for the Jung’s car to park on the front of their house. Days became months but the Jung’s haven’t come back in Korea.

“You lied Soojung.” Yiyun whispered as he got up on their porch and head inside their house and slammed the door close.
