Three Years Later.

Dream Entertainment singer Skye announces her retirement.

Minho’s eyes were trained on the show on the television, but his attention was on his girlfriend. She was resting her head comfortably on his lap and looked like she was asleep.

The couple was spending their day in the summer house he bought. It was also the same summer house where they used to meet during their trainee days. With the reporters being relentless in finding the reason of Skye’s retirement, the Minho found the perfect excuse to bring his girlfriend to the house where they could relax and get away from the public’s eyes.

“What do you want to do now that you’ve retired?”Minho asked his girlfriend of three years.

Haejin answered without moving in her place. “I’ll be training potential singers. Sooman and JYP invited me to be part of Dream Entertainment as a mentor and lyricist.”

“Aren’t you disappointed that your contract only lasted for three years?”

“Disappointed?”Haejin sat up and looked at him. She didn’t think that he thought that she wasn’t offered a contract renewal.

Minho stopped watching altogether and put all his attention to her. Whatever show was on the television was forgotten.

Her lips tilted slightly upwards in amusement. Shaking her head, she answered. “No. It was my decision to retire. They offered me an extension for my contract but I refused. It was my dream to be a singer and I did achieve that.” She leaned her back on the couch and tilted her head slightly to the side with her eyes still on her boyfriend.

“Dreams change and I found myself wanting to teach.”She added with a smirk. Not once during her younger years did she think that she would develop an interest in teaching.

“I may not be a singer anymore but I’m still part of the company. They offered me a job as a vocal coach and a dance trainer.”

“Huh…”Minho found himself surprised by Haejin. The more time they spend together, he finds new things about her. “I didn’t think you liked teaching. That would be a sight to see for sure.”He teased a bit.

It was amusing for him to imagine her teaching. He had seen her once when they young in her attempt to help a younger trainee. She struggled so much in teaching that she made a fool of herself. Minho chuckled at the memory.

Narrowed eyes were directed at him. “Har har… Like I didn’t know that.”Haejin wasn’t amused by his teasing and she knew what he meant. But still, things have changed. She had grown up more mature and hopefully that would help her in her new interest.

“I’ll miss you singing live in front of many people though. You know how different that it.”Minho said.

“I can always make a comeback you know. If the company wanted to, I can always collaborate with other artists.”

“It’s still not the same.”He argued with a pout.

Knowing Minho will not let her retirement go without argument, she changed the topic in his direction. "How about you? I hear you and the guys have been thinking about disbanding.”

Minho nodded. “That’s right, but I don’t think it’ll be happening soon. Although each one of us has a field we liked to be part of, we still like the group dynamic. Solo activities will be more frequent but group promotions will continue on.”

“I guess you’re going to continue on with acting?”

He nodded eagerly. “I still have to learn a lot but I like the challenge of being a different person for each production I participate in.”

“Wow we’re really grown up, huh? Back then, we’re still all starry-eyed with being idols but its different now.”She couldn’t help but observed.

Her boyfriend couldn’t help but agree with a slight chuckle and added. “We’re even mature enough to decide if we want to marry. I think we’ll be a very good married couple.”

"Married? You haven't proposed yet." She playfully punched him, laughing.

"Well... I am now." Minho said seriously. For me, there was no better moment to express my wished to be tied to her than now.

"You're serious?" One of her brows arched as she looked at his expression.

Haejin wasn’t sure how the conversation went to a proposal. She took a deep breath and watched Minho carefully.

He didn’t waver and kept his face serious.

"Serious as a heart attack."

Sooman looked up from the document he was reading and smiled at JYP in surprise. Although JYP have visited him numerous times throughout the years due to their joint venture, Dream Entertainment, this was an unannounced visit.

The joint company has been growing steadily with 3 more artists added in their roster of similar backgrounds to Skye. All of them were already involved in the music industry in a way. 

“What brings you here this time? Did someone in Dream get in trouble again?”

JYP put a document on Sooman’s desk and chuckled good-naturedly as Sooman’s words were a joke. “You could say that.”He sat on the couch available in the room and waited for SM’s CEO to read the document he brought.

Wondering what JYP meant, Sooman read the document.

A sigh passed his lips. He removed his reading glasses and rubbed his eyelids. “Those two are still creating trouble.”

“You have to admit though that at least they’ve told us in advance.” JYP replied lazily on his spot. He had the same reaction when it was delivered in his office.

Its official SHINee’s Choi Minho and former singer Skye are engaged.

The whole industry was in shock when DREAM Entertainment, the joint company of SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment released a personal video from the couple themselves announcing their engagement.

Reporters have tried hunting down the engaged couple for an interview but they were nowhere to be found. From the statement released by their agencies, the two have been dating for almost two years.

After the official announcement Minho, a member of SHINee opened an instagram account where he began posting every hour a photo of him and Skye, his fiancé during their secret relationship. 

“Do we really have to go that far? We could have simply announced we’re engaged. Why are you posting those pictures?”Haejin asked.

They stayed once again in the summer house where the two were fully at home, dressed in pajamas even though it was almost noon.

"I've spent years hiding our relationship. I want to show everyone how happy I was." Minho pouted childishly.

His hair was all over the place but Haejin thought he couldn't be more handsome than in that moment. The rugged look really looked good on Minho, she thought.
 

Haejin can still remember that time when their bosses forbid their relationship public. Minho looked so sad.

Remembering that, she didn't have the heart to stop him from doing what he wanted. Her fiancé deserved to be happy for their engagement. This was his time to do what he wants.

"Just please don't go overboard." She requested.

He nodded and then went back to checking their Instagram account.

"By the way 2PM and the older ones in your group has been messaging me nonstop. They want me to cancel our engagement because they're whining that they should the ones who're supposed to get married first." She added as got herself something to drink.

Her fiancé looked up from his phone and grinned at that one. He mischievously let her in on a secret. "I purposely told them of our engagement before it went public."

"You're mean." Luckily she hasn’t begun to drink or she would have wasted a good cup of orange juice. She laughed while shaking her head at Minho's antics. The male never stopped giving her something to smile or laugh about.

"I know." Minho nodded, not bothering to deny the playful side of him and approached her with a hug. They stayed like that for awhile until Minho kissed the top of her head and then her lips tenderly. "I love you Haejin-ah~"

She blushed at the affectionate gesture even though he'd always shower her with affection. "So cheesy..." She teased before replying with the same adoration to the older male. "Love you too Minho. Don't you forget it."

Too short? To be honest, their story was supposed to last up to the previous chapter.

I'm happy that someone took the time to read this story of mine even though

it's not good. I can't seem to abandon this one since it's my AFF baby.

I've abandoned stories before but because I'm a fan of SHINee I didn't.
