Forget Our Memories017: Match made...

I knew I did the right thing.
Like what Jieun had told me years ago, I had to move on.
Jonghyun hyung had set me up with a couple of blind dates and I went out with every one.
My dates were all beautiful and charming. They were intelligent. Some of them were also in the industry while some of them were recommendation from friends. I enjoyed myself in their company, but no one truly caught my attention.
"So what do you think about this oppa?" IU asked me. Nichkhun hyung set me up with her when Wooyoung recommended him.
He heard about me finally moving on that he joined forces with my bandmate.
"Uh what?" I looked at her dazed and realized what I had done. "I'm sorry. I got caught in my head." I apologized.
She didn't look offended. "Oppa's not really ready, am I right?"
I slowly nodded. "I want to.. you know. But-"
"It's hard. " She finished for me.
I couldn't help but smile at her. She became an idol around Taemin's age and seemed more mature than me. I guess the young ones are in a different level than people in my generation.
She smiled back, playing with her drink while looking at me. " For a guy like you to be hung over this long, she's a great girl for sure."
Even now, no one can compare to her.
"She was."
"Bad memories?" She asked worriedly.
I just smiled and decided to end the date. Her company was nice but we both knew it wouldn't work. Bringing up the past won't help the situation either.
"You're a nice girl IU but I don't think we'll be more than friends" I gently told her.
She cutely laughed. It was an adorable sight. "I sort of sense that when I was talking earlier. Don't worry about it. Wooyoung sunbae asked me out of the blue to go. It was a surprise but I thought it didn't hurt to try."
She and Eunhyuk sunbae used to be together. It ended up messily when a picture of the two leaked online due to a mistake.
They never tried again after that.
"IU-sshi" I called.
She looked at me curiously.
"Do you..." I paused for a bit. I'm not sure if I'm intruding but what the heck they might work out again.
"Do you want to try with him again?" I asked dead on.
Her fingers stopped moving. Those pretty eyes of hers widened. She knew who I was talking about.
A sad expression formed from her face. "We broke up ages ago." There was still a hopeful tone in her voice.
I recognized it because I was also like that.
"Sunbae's still wants to start over with you." I told her honestly. "When you broke up because of company regulations, he got depressed. It took him months before he was able to be himself again."
"Isn't he with Hyuna?" She asked me with a slight bitterness.
The way she said the 4minute idol's name, it was like she want to bury the girl alive. It was funny considering she was small and cute while Hyuna had this y aura.
"That's a rumor." I told her as I clasp my hands together. "Also, I heard from the other members that Hyukjae still murmurs your name in his sleep. If you don't believe me, I could ask Heechul sunbae for the video recording. He saved it in case of emergencies."
She snorted. "You mean blackmail purposes."
I laughed. "That too."
"So? Should I set up the date?" I asked thoughtfully.
IU stopped playing with her drink and thought for a minute. Her lips tilted up with a shy expression.
"What should I wear?" She asked excitedly.
I smiled fully.
Even though love life was a mess, I wanted the people around me to be happy.
I knew for a fact that when Eunhyuk sunbae receives my message he would be bombarding me with questions later on.
He better thank me later on for setting this up.
I got home in my private home that I bought a two years ago earlier than I thought.
Everyone else in the group also had their own homes. We no longer share the cramped dorm.
I settled my keys on the table not far from the front door.
As I expected when I checked my phone for voicemail messages, Eunhyuk left more than 5.
"Yah Minho! Is this a prank. I check my messages and see your name telling me I have a lunch date with IU?! If you're joking, you're so dead! You hear me?!" His voice was frantic and threatening.
This was the first time I've heard him like this.
I chuckled and listened to the rest.
"Why aren't you answering your phone? I thought she was your date? Siwon hyung told me that she was.What happened?" This time he was concerned. He probably had calmed down.
"Dongsaeng... answer your phone and tell me the truth. Are you playing with me or not? I'm losing my mind here." Eunhyuk hyung was getting frustrated.
"Arghh! Why are you so hard to contact tonight! I'm warning you if you don't call me back as soon as you get this, I'm going to.. Argh!" He lost his temper at his fourth message. Sunbae probably lost his patience from waiting for my call.
I couldn't help but laugh. I never thought it would be this easy to bully him.
I have heard stories from his bandmates especially Ryeowook and Heechul hyung, but to epxerience it like this.
It was truly amazing.
I was shocked especially at his last message.
"Minho-yah...please answer my calls. All I need you to tell me if it's true. A simple yes or no would suffice. I promise you I won't get angry if this is some prank you and Heechul formulated. " From the background I heard Heechul hyung commenting he didn't have any part in it.
He was too pitiful to bully anymore that I granted his pleas.
I sent a message. A word to be exact.
"Yes."
I failed with my dating exploits but suceeded in my match-making skills.
It has been awhile since I've written a long chapter in Minho's perspective...
He's still torn you see...
Eunhyuk and IU never really saw it coming.
The explanation prepared by IU's company explaining the picture... I don't believe it.
