“The sales dropped but we will be okay” Justin said to me as he analyzed the charts and statistics of the company.

I knew he was telling me the truth because his face had some calmness to it. We initially thought we would end up bankrupt but the sales only dropped a bit.

“That’s a relief Justin, but will you be okay? Can you really manage this company?”

He sighed and nodded. He stood up from his chair and walked over to me. He patted me in the back softly.

We both faced the window as we looked down at the big city.

“You always worry too much little sis” he said and chuckled. He crossed his arms and gave me a goofy grin.

“It’s my job” I replied.

“No” he said and laughed.

“Your job is somewhere else”

“Huh?” I asked confused. He just smiled and laughed very hard at my reaction.

Sometimes I could be so clueless.

“Don’t you have a boy waiting on you?” he teased.

I felt the blood rushing to my face as my eyes tripled in size. How embarrassing.

Kyungsoo.

It had already been a year since I had last seen him.

I had only skyped him 4 times during that time period.

I was a horrible girlfriend.

Sometimes I wondered if he still loved me. We had been so busy.

“Frankly bro, I don’t know if he still is” I replied and folded my arms.

“Go find out”

“It’s not that easy” I replied and rolled my eyes.

“Why?”

“I still have some press conferences and meetings with the board-“I began but he cut me off.

“They are not your problem, go.”

“Justin!” I complained.

“Mina, the guy has feelings too you know?”

I sighed. He was completely right. It was just hard to admit it.

I took his words seriously. His words were with me all the way home.

When I arrived to my apartment complex. I hurried to my room and my tablet.

I was about to skype him when I realized it was night time over there. It wouldn’t be a good idea.

I felt my phone vibrate.

I panicked, it was him.

I answered immediately but did not say a word.

“Mina-ah” he whispered softly. That raspy “I woke up right now” voice. I loved it so much when he said my name. I smiled.

It was night time so he must have woken up from his sleep to call me.

“I miss you” I whispered back. “Shouldn’t you be asleep?” I added.

He chuckled softly.

“Yeah but I really wanted to hear your voice” he replied and yawned.

“Kyungsoo?”

“Yeah?”

“I have good news” I replied excitedly.

“That’s great!” he replied back with the same enthusiasm.

“I have bad news too though, which one would you like to hear first?”

He sighed.

“You could have just left it at good news, I want to hear the good news Mina”

“You sure?”

“Yes” he replied and yawned a bit more.

“I’m coming home” I whispered.

There was a silence.

“You’re not messing with me right?”

“Nope, it’s finally over”

“That’s probably THE BEST news I’ve heard this year…but then what is the bad news?” he replied now fully awake.

“That you have to go to sleep, I know you're tired but I’ll see you soon” I replied back with a smile. He just laughed quietly.

“If you were infront of me, I’d kiss you right now” he replied and laughed a bit more. It was the first time in awhile that he sounded so happy.

There was a silence.

“Wait, may I ask you for a favor?”

He got my attention immediately with those words.

“Yeah, anything”

“Meet me in Cali”

“Cali?” I asked confused. Why would he want to go there?

“Yeah we are-hold on” he sighed heavily. There was noise in the background.

I listened closely at the call.

“Shut up Sehun! Go away!” he whispered yelled.

“I’m so excited!” Sehun squealed.

“SHHHH”

“Sorry” Kyungsoo came back to the phone.

“Tell Sehun I said hello” I giggled.

“Oh, um, yes that kid, but anyways we are having a concert in L.A so can you meet us there?” he asked with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

“Umm, yeah, when?”

“Next week, Friday”

“Oh wow, yeah I’ll meet you there”

“Awesome, but alright, I’ll do as you told me and go to sleep. I’ll call you later okay?”

“Alright”

“I love you very much” he whispered sweetly.

I smiled.

“I love you too Kyungsoo” I replied and hung up.

It only struck me then that it was true, I loved him.

This wasn't some childish infatuation.

I was going back to California, back to the place where it all started.
