Myungsoo’s POV

During lunch, I next to Sungyeol, who looked like an anxious choding. It was bothering me because he was being noisy and I wasn’t in the mood today. After Saturday’s date, I was nothing but a mess once again because of Naeun. It was all because of what my father’s manager assumed. I was fine before he came, why did he ruin my date with Naeun? The heck!?! Why am I suddenly caring about Naeun? I glanced at the Apink table and saw Naeun rather happy than usual while I sat here angry, annoyed and gloomy.

“Will you stop being anxious!?!” I yelled looking at Sungyeol.

He was a mess and I didn’t understand why either. I know it’s a week before the Fall Equinox Ball and the deadline of the submission was due tomorrow. Wait, the submission is due tomorrow!!!! Naeun has to place her submission or else I can’t get our tickets!

“I can’t!” yelled Sungyeol back at me.

“Why?” I said while rubbing my forehead because of a headache.

“I’m asking someone to the Fall Equinox Ball today,” said Sungyeol.

“WAIT WHAT!?!” yelled Infinite in unison.

Dongwoo had his famous dinosaur look when he opened his mouth shocked at what Sungyeol said. That’s why we call him Dino woo. Sunggyu hyung’s eyes widened, a little, at what he heard. I see no difference. Woohyun was throwing greasy hearts at Chorong so he didn’t hear anything. Psh, once a greasy hyung, always a greasy person. Hoya was nudging Sungyeol on telling us who it was. While I was happy for once that Sungyeol was going to ask someone.

“Who is it?” we all asked except Woohyun, who was distracted.

Sungyeol couldn’t speak so he pointed to Naeun. I had no surprised look in my face while the rest of the Infinite was encouraging Sungyeol. You do know she is already taken by me, her ‘secret’ admirer.

“Just go up to her and ask her to go to the dance with you, afterschool,” said Hoya.

“Yeah, I’m sure she will say yes,” said Sungjong.

“Hey, what are you guys talking about?” asked Woohyun.

Everyone looked at Woohyun with a pokerfaced expression. I couldn’t help but laugh at their expressions. Woohyun looked like a dumbfounded person so I answered his question.

“Well hyung, while you were throwing your greasy hearts at Chorong, we discovered that Sungyeol wants to ask the brat to prom,” I said.

“Myungsoo, don’t call Naeun, a brat. I know you don’t her but she is not a brat. She is a nice and innocent minded person. I like her independent personality,” said Sungyeol.

I was about to say something but Woohyun interrupted me.

“Sungyeol, I don’t think you should ask Naeun,” said Woohyun. Glad, you said that, hyung.

“Why?” asked Sungyeol as he looked at Woohyun with curiosity. Because she is taken....Go to Bomi. She needs someone.

“She is taken by someone,” said Woohyun with a sigh.

“By who!?!” yelled the rest of Infinite except me who was just looking at my phone.

“I don’t know I was talking to Chorong on Saturday about it. It’s a mystery. We’ll find out at the Fall Equinox Ball,” said Woohyun.

I knew he didn’t want to tell the truth that she was going with her secret admirer. Well, I haven’t told anyone that I’m her secret admirer. I don’t like her but it’s the title that Naeun gave me. I glanced Sungyeol and saw his face suddenly gloomy. I understood how he felt because this is exactly how I felt when he was with Naeun. Wait, why do I feel happy and not sad for my best friend? I shook my head and somewhat slapped myself.

I watched everyone look at me like there was something wrong with me. I went back to being cold L.

“Why are you guys staring at me like that?” I said with an emotionless face.

“Myungsoo are you going to the Fall Equinox Ball?” asked Sunggyu as he held his fork while looking at me.

Should I lie and say no or should I say yes? I should just be my mysterious self.

“Yep, I’m going,” I said.

“With who?” asked everyone and Sungyeol looked at me with a surprised face.

I glanced at the Apink table and saw Naeun going to the library. I knew it was time for me to go the library so I can get her invitation so that I can put it in the Student Council box.

“Like what Woohyun hyung said, you’ll find at the Fall Equinox Ball. I have to go now. See you guys later,” I said while giving a smirk.

I looked Infinite and saw their puzzled faces and I gave a small chuckle before leaving for the library. I knew they were probably going to talk about who I would bring to the Fall Equinox Ball.

Anyways, I walked into the library and saw Naeun siting at the same place where she sat last week. There was something suspicious because she just left her envelope at the far corner of her table. She also went back and forth between the shelves and the tables. It was going to be hard to get the envelope without being caught. I walked into the shelves and watched her carefully. I was also very careful so that she doesn’t see me. She ignored me today because of what I said Saturday. Class was about to start soon and she still was here. I was getting impatient on getting that invitation.

“Naeun, what are you doing here?” asked Bomi.

“Ah, Bomi, I was just collecting my things,” said Naeun with a sigh as she collected her things.

She turned to her table and saw her envelope at the corner. She gave another sigh and finally left the library. Finally, I was able to retrieve the envelope and ran to the student council office. I took my envelope and taped her and mine together. I placed it into the mailbox and went to class.

Naeun’s POV

I sat at the lunch table with a rather happy face today. I don’t know but I wasn’t worried about anything nor was I thinking about how much I hated Kim Myungsoo. My manager told me that her daughter was going to be in charge of the grocery store for a month. I won’t have to deal with my manager’s bickering for a while.

Her daughter was so much nicer than the manager. I don’t understand why she was raised by a....Oh right, I can’t curse. Anyways, her daughter knew how to get the job done efficiently and barely yelled at anyone. She only gave a death stare similar to Student council president, Kim Sunggyu. Don’t picture her with eyes like a hamster, please, that’s not how she looks like. It’s just she has a piercing death stare. I barely got yelled at by her because I always work efficiently and barely talked to anyone in that store. She also gave me extra money every time she took over the work. She was the other reason why I stayed at store.

Anyways my members were all doing something that was usual at the Apink table. Namjoo has been writing notes on what to write for the school newspaper. Yookyung was writing in her notebook. She was probably wanted to update her story later. Chorong was laughing and imitating Woohyun. I glanced at Woohyun and saw him throwing greasy hearts at Chorong. I gave a smile. Eunji was listening to music while writing a song for the Fall Equinox Ball. Bomi was looking over at what Eunji was writing. Hayoung was eating a salad, daydreaming, while I was daydreaming about how my job was going to be a breeze. Eunji finally broke the silence and put down her headphones.

“So did you guys get your dresses? I want to see!” laughed Eunji.

“Yeah, Woohyun and I went this Saturday at the mall,” said Chorong.

I stopped daydreaming when I heard Saturday at the mall.

“Wait, what happened Saturday at the mall?” I asked.

“Naeun, you should listen. You’re always in your little world,” said Bomi as she shook her head.

“Chorong unnie went to buy a dress during Saturday at the mall,” said Yookyung while he put her bok away.

“Oh, I see,” I said without an expression.

It made me remember what L told me and I clenched my fists. I couldn’t believe I softened up to that soulless jerk. Wait, if Chorong went to the mall that Saturday then did she see me with L? Ani, probably not. I gave a sigh and tried to forget about L because he was ruining my happy mood.

While they were talking about the gowns they were going to wear, I glanced at Bomi and saw how sad she looked. Poor Bomi, I wish she had a date too like the rest of them. I took her hand and gave a smile when she looked at me.

“I’m sure someone will ask you Bomi unnie,” I said with a smile.

She gave a half smile but I knew she doubted it. Chorong noticed Bomi was sad and was about to say something but Namjoo turned to my direction.

“Naeun, are you going to ball? You seem quiet about it,” said Namjoo.

“I am,” I gave one of my rarest smiles.

“What!?! With who?” yelled Eunji who beat the rest of Apink on asking me who.

“I can’t tell you, I don’t know him,” I said giving a nod.

“What? How can you not know him?” said Namjoo.

“I’m going with my secret admirer. He slipped his invitation into my schedule book last week in the library,” I said.

Everyone’s excitement died when they heard my explanation.

“Naeun, what makes this secret admirer special from the other secret admirers?” asked Bomi.

“Yeah, what if this secret admirer is just joking around? What if it’s L-spirits that want you to believe you’re going with someone but you’re not. Then you wasted your ball gown for nothing,” said Hayoung.

I should my head and looked at my worried Apink friends. They always carried about me even though I still had many secrets that I can’t share about myself. I gave a smile as I revealed why this secret admirer was special.

“He helped me. I know his handwriting. He was the one who gave me this pin when I felt sad that I lost Sungyeol’s pin. I found it though. Also, he was the one who gave me another present but this present wasn’t just a present. It actually helped me with my family matters,” I said without trying to reveal my actual situation.

Chorong looked at me like she actually understood what was wrong with me. I didn’t understand why though. The rest of my friends still looked worried.

“I have to go to the library. See you guys in class,” I said.

I left for the library because I was planning on catching my secret admirer. Tomorrow was the last day of handing in our invitations because the Student council needs to count how many dates were going to be at the Ball. I only waited for the last minute because I wanted to know who my secret admirer is. If he was frantic about the Ball, he would try his hardest on trying to get my envelope.

While I was at the library, I was already planning everything on catching him. No, I’m not going to get a net and catch him. Anyways, I placed my envelope at the very end of my table and pretended to look through the shelves. I had my eyes at the envelope and any guy that passed by my table.

After 30 minutes, no one showed up and I gave a sigh. I sat down and looked at my envelope with a sad expression on my face. What if Hayoung was right? What if this was just a plan by L’s fans? That means I owe L that much money for the dress, mask, and the Infinite necklace. I took out the Infinite necklace that I hid underneath my shirt and gave a sad smile. As much as I hate L, I still couldn’t help but keep this present from him. Even if he only used me, I seemed very fond of this necklace.

I stood up while hiding my Infinite necklace, once again, and walked back to my table. I started to collect my things. Ugh, I wasted perfect time on studying just because of my stupid plan on trying to find my secret admirer.

Just then, Bomi went into the library and found me. She was telling me to go to class already because she didn’t want me to be late. I finished gathering my things and left the library. Glancing at the envelope that I left at the table, I gave a sigh and walked to class.

Afternoon classes finally ended after Apink and Infinite were given mind blowing information from their most intelligent person in their groups during lunch. Right now Infinite is trying to figure out who Myungsoo is going with to the Ball while Apink is trying to figure out whom Naeun’s secret admirer is. The only ones who didn’t feel like being involved with the search were Bomi and Sungyeol.

Bomi didn’t want to think about the Ball because she knew it would only make her sad. She walked toward Apink’s meeting place with a heavy heart. If only someone asked her to the dance then she would have been eager to solve the mystery of Naeun’s secret admirer.

Sungyeol in the other hand was trying to forget that Naeun was taken by someone. During class today, he kept staring at Naeun and felt sad that she was already taken by someone he didn’t know. He walked through the halls after school and didn’t feel like going home because he wanted to ask someone else but he didn’t know who. He stopped when he saw Bomi sulking about how she wasn’t going to dance. That’s it! I can ask Bomi to the dance!

“I wish I had a date to the Ball, I would be with my friends. I don’t understand why I don’t have anyone. Am I really sassy?” asked Bomi to herself.

“No, you’re not sassy. You’re just straightforward,” said Sungyeol as he sat next to Bomi.

“Yah! Lee Sungyeol, you scared me,” said Bomi as she placed her hand onto her chest.

“Mianhae Bomi, I heard you talking to yourself so I wanted to see what’s wrong,” laughed Sungyeol as he gave a smile to her.

Bomi smiled at Sungyeol as she gave a sigh.

“Well, you see, everyone in Apink is going with your friends except Naeun. I heard she is going with her secret admirer. Now my friends except me are trying to figure out who Naeun’s date for the dance,” said Bomi while looking down.

She’s going with her secret admirer!?! How did Woohyun know? Wait, Chorong and Woohyun both knew who Naeun is going with but they don’t know the person? I thought I told her to stay away from that stalker admirer! Aish, Naeun what are you planning?  Sungyeol nodded and gave a sigh to Bomi as well.

“You see, Bomi, I was going to ask Naeun but I heard she was taking by someone else already,” sighed Sungyeol.

“Bwoh!?! Seriously!?! I knew it! You do have a crush on her. Apink started to ship you and Naeun. We formed a secret shipping called YeolEun,” laughed Bomi.

“Ani! I only like her as a friend. I was going to ask her because she is a close friend,” smiled Sungyeol. “Anyways since she’s taken, Bomi –sshi, do you want to go the dance with me?” asked Sungyeol.

“Me!?! You’re asking me?” asked Bomi.

She gave a nod and hugged Sungyeol. Sungyeol gave a smile as he pulled out his invitation and gave the other card to Bomi as they filled it out together.

While Sungyeol and Bomi were filling out their invitations together, back in the Student Council was Sunggyu and his staff looking at the invitations and checking off who was going. He then came across two envelopes taped together. Strange, why are two envelopes taped together? He didn’t understand as he opened both of them. There revealed who Myungsoo was going to the ball with and Naeun’s secret admirer. Sunggyu’s actually widened his eyes and read the signatures, if they were forged, nut realized they weren’t. He didn’t understand why would go the ball with someone he despised as he placed their names down on the list. He decided to pretend that he didn’t see this and went onto the next invitation.

While Sunggyu was reading through the invitations, Myungsoo was trying to avoid the questions that his father was asking him about Naeun. It was basically what his father’s manager had said. His father was trying to find more information about Naeun because he had a plan involving him and Naeun.

“Do you know anything about Son Naeun’s father’s company? Does Son Naeun talk to you about her father?” asked his father.

“No, I haven’t heard anything. I went on a date with her once. She never shared anything to me about her father,” said Myungsoo with annoyed expression. Are you kidding? I would never tell you! You’re planning something just like what your manager told me!

“Kim Myungsoo! Do you know what this means!?! If you get closer to Son Naeun, we can negotiate a deal with her father’s compay,” chuckled his father. Or sabotaging their company....I know you’re planning on doing that. That’s why you’re interested in her.

Myungsoo gave a sigh at his father’s plan on how to make a deal with her father’s company. He walked out of his father’s office, ignoring his father’s shouting. He wanted to escape his father’s world of business because it was basically making him stress. He had to leave the building once again. He took his things and slipped through the top floor where he worked into the elevator. There, he stopped at the 5th floor. From the 5th floor, he went down the stairs and into the lobby. When he saw a familiar face, he ran out of the lobby and went after her. He smirked when he saw it was Naeun. He grabbed her arm and pulled her away from his father’s company.

“LET GO OF ME KIM MYUNGSOO!” yelled Naeun as she tried to get out of Myungsoo’s grip.

“Can’t do that, sorry,” said Myungsoo as he looked back at the company and smiled when the guards believed he could leave.

The only reason why Naeun was passing by Myungsoo’s company, she needed to get to work. She didn’t get to work because of school. Since Naeun was part of the Art club, the club offered to work with the Student Council in decorations and other art placed around the Ballroom. She was in charge of drawing and painting art of anything to resembled autumn. She stayed afterschool today to finish her painting so she told the manager’s daughter that she would be late. Anyways, her being pulled away by Myungsoo was not part of her schedule as she struggled with Myungsoo pulling her away from her destination.

They finally stopped at the Downtown area of small shops and stands in the city. It was a lively place at night and a lot of people would go here for dates. Naeun was furious because she didn’t know how to get back to where the grocery store was. She was also stuck with Kim Myungsoo. When she looked at the time, it built her fury and started to hit Myungsoo.

“YOU IDIOT! I HATE YOU!” she yelled as she hit Myungsoo.

“Stop it!” yelled Myungsoo as he got angry at her hitting him.

He grabbed her hands and pinned her to the wall. He moved closer to her and glared into her eyes. Naeun wasn’t scared at Myungsoo even though he pinpointed her to wall. She pushed him but Myungsoo was tired of Naeun so he pushed her toward the wall and holding her by her shoulders. They were close and it scared Naeun a little. When she was calm, Myungsoo let her go and moved to the side.

“I hate you, why did you do that? Why are you suddenly talking to me? Remember Saturday’s date? Yeah, if you’re going to apologize, I won’t forgive you,” said Naeun as she was starting to walk away.

Myungsoo grabbed onto her arm because he wanted her to stay.

“I’ll tell you why I said that. Just listen to me. I’ll stop being a soulless jerk,” sighed Myungsoo. “Brat, no, I mean Naeun ah, I only said that because of my father. Let’s just say that he is already arranging a meeting with your father or trying to. He can’t though because he needs you for his stupid plan on being a monopoly of Korea. With you being near me, it will make his plan easier. Your father and my father are rivals in Korea like us in school. If he has his hands on you, it makes his plans much easier because basically I’m his pawn while you’re the target. During the date, I said that so that you wouldn’t go near me, anymore so that my father wouldn’t capture you. But...I also realized that you’re also my escape from my father and my work,” said Myungsoo trying to be truthful.

Naeun glanced at his explanation because to her that didn’t make at all. What the heck? I’m not even part of the business world. I’m not close with my father. Why would your father want to use me? As if I have a way to contact my father! Your father is insane....

“Even if I have a way to contact my father, he would refuse your father because he doesn’t like your company very much. Also, I still won’t forgive you. Since when did you become so soft,” said Naeun as she walked off.

“You don’t have to believe me. I’m just apologizing for my wrong doing. I’m not becoming soft, idiot. Also, you’re going the wrong way to your apartment. Face it Naeun, if you leave me here, you’ll get lost. Also, I heard there are drunkard men that just want to get a girl like you,” said Myungsoo as he gave a smirk.

Naeun hated it when he was right. She needed him to guide her home. She turned around and looked at Myungsoo.

“Fine, I forgive you. Yes, I do need you to guide me home. Also, just because you’re a pawn for your father, he doesn’t control your life. No one controls your life except yourself. Remember that,” said Naeun while giving a nod.

“You really are a stoic person. Are you not going to smile? I saw you smile at our fake date. Oh, since you need me, I want you to say that L is the most handsome guy in school and I’m jealous of him,” smirked Myungsoo. I doubt she will do it though because she probably hates me that much. Also, this is too funny. I should more often.

Naeun gave me a pokerface as she gave a sigh. She did need him and if she refused he would only make it worse for her.

“L is the most handsome guy in school and I’m jealous of him,” said Naeun without emotion.

Myungsoo raised an eyebrow at Naeun. He though she wouldn’t say something like that.

“Interesting, I thought you were going to refuse,” said Myungsoo.

“Just show me the way. Also, I do what I have to in order to get what I want,” said Naeun.

Interesting....Every time I spend time with you, you interest me even though you probably still despise me. Myungsoo showed Naeun the way home. Myungsoo went home by cab and there he faced his father’s wrath for running away from work. He knew it was going to happen. He wished it was already the Fall Equinox Ball, so that he can finally have one day to himself without his father bothering him about work.

A week finally passed and it is finally the day of the Fall Equinox Ball.
