Love, Symmetry & Rhythm

Description

Park Sandara, a passionate and unique dancer, never thought in a million years that she’d meet her idol and role model, G-Dragon (Kwon Jiyong), the Prince of K-Pop. But that all changed when her younger cousin, Ahn Sohee, dragged her to audition with her for a spot as G-Dragon’s backup dancer. This is a story about admiration, talent, determination, image, commitment, faith, and most importantly, love, symmetry and rhythm.

Hello everyone ^-^

My very first story on AFF and my very first Daragon fanfiction! I'm not the best writer and do not have the best grammar, but I have a very vivid and very romantic imagination that I feel the need/want to share with others! So I hope you all will enjoy this story and feel free to let me know what you think (but please be kind!

Because I am a college student (and I was too impatient to wait to post this story), I can't promise regular and speedy updates. BUT, I can promise you that I'll keep you up to date and give you something to look forward to and worth the wait.

Now enough of me rambling, here is Love, Symmetry & Rhythm. Enjoy!

Things to keep in mind about Love, Symmetry & Rhythm:

  • I tried to base a few things about the characters on themselves in real life (ex. age, songs composed, debute age, etc.) However, of course, certains things will be different and changed due to the setting of the story.
  • There is no BIGBANG (and 2NE1). Instead, I've considered the songs that G-Dragon composed/written (w/o the help of other BIGBANG members) as songs that L,S&R "G-Dragon" used for his solo career. *If I've made a mistake or miscalculation, I'm sorry!*
  • Italicized parts are the character's inner monologue.

*~Let the story begin~*

Foreword

Prologue

~*Two Years Ago*~

“QUICK Unnie!” Sohee squealed while dragging me towards the very front of the stage, “Hurry up! Everyone else is running! We won’t get a good spot if we don’t hurry!”

“Arraso arraso! My feet still hurt from standing in line since this morning!” I whined as I stumbled my way through the crowd trying to keep up with my overly energetic cousin.

Finally, after a few good pushing and shoving from Sohee, we finally made it to the fence surrounding the entire stage. While catching our breaths, we took the time to observe the curtain floating in front of the stage. “G-DRAGON” was written in bold black letters.

“This… is so… AMAZING!” Sohee screamed like a giddy schoolgirl while shaking the sturdy fence. “Look at the stage! Look at all the people! Look at the curtain! Everything just screams G-DRAGON OPPA IS THE BEST!” She threw her arms out in a V-shape and looking up at the sky as if thanking some heavenly figure for bringing her here today. I giggled seeing at how ridiculous she looked but it was great to see her so happy.

“Aish, Sohee you are embarrassing me!” I gave her a nudge.

“Unnie! You just don’t understand how AMAZING GD oppa is! He’s the best singer, dancer, and composer in Seoul. No, the entire WORLD. Not only that but he is HOT!” She grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me.

Of course I know how amazing he is, ever since he debuted a year ago, Sohee would never stop talking about him. About how talented he was, how hot he was, and especially how young he was. “He is young enough for me to marry him!” Sohee would always say and get excited about since he was only four years older than her. I sighed thinking about how successful and talented he was at the age of 18 when he debuted. When I was 18, I didn’t even know what I wanted to do with my life. But, at least now I have dance.

“Yeah yeah, I know. G-Dragon is number one!” I say in a half sarcastic and teasing tone as punched my fist in the air. I can’t deny that he is really impressive and probably a music prodigy. His songs were always the top of the music charts and I’ve seen his creative music videos. He is definitely good at what he does. But I guess I just never really ‘connected’ with him in a deeper way before. I saw him as just another famous K-pop singer.

Sohee pouted and furrowed her brows , “I know appa and omma asked you to come with me but I KNOW you will like it! Please, just try and enjoy yourself. For me?” She pouted even more while clasping my hands in hers.

I laughed and nudged her again, “Arraso! Stop looking at me like that, I will enjoy it. Don’t worry about me and just focus on your GD op—“

“KYAAAAAAHHH!” The sudden high-pitched screams of the surrounding girls and Sohee cut me off as the lights were dimmed and a backlight lit up the white curtain.

Fan girls continued to scream and wave their banners and signs wildly as a slim shadow started walking behind the curtain towards the center of the stage. Then a familiar voice came booming from the surrounding speakers.

“How’s everybody doing tonight?” G-Dragon’s voice was engulfed by even louder screams.

“You ready for this?” He asked as the crowd responded with pleading cries.

“Aite, LET’S GO!”

There were bursts of flames in front of the stage as the curtain tore down the middle revealing G-Dragon dressed in ripped jeans, a grey graphic tee, a black leather jacket, and a grey beanie with just a bit of his brunette hair sticking out. He put the microphone to his lips and started singing a song that I’ve heard a million times because of Sohee, ‘This Love’.

As the song continued, the crowd became more and more wild as we all watched G-Dragon take the stage and show everyone why he is called the Prince of K-Pop. I couldn’t take my eyes off of him for even a second. My ears were tingling from the words and melody of the song. My heart was racing as I watched how handsome he looked rapping and moving side to side to the beat. His stage presence was incredible, his voice was unique but full of power and most of all… his dancing was out of this world. I watched the way he moved his body to the beat of the song. He would occasionally slip in the choreography that all his backup dancers were doing, but the rest of the time was just him. It was his dance, his show. Everyone else disappeared, the backup dancers, the band, even the fan girls surrounding me. I could hear my heart beat louder and louder almost beating to the rhythm of his song. He let the music take over his body and move the way it wanted to move. There was no stopping him now, even if the music stopped. That was when I finally felt it: the connection from me to him; a connection that was built with admiration, envy, and inspiration. G-Dragon was no longer just a famous K-pop singer. He was my idol.
