CHAPTER 27
High School Zero
Weeks passed ever since the Senior Trip. Soojung has been going back and forth home, work and her mum's hotel suite. Sometimes she wonders if her mum was doing this on purpose just so that she wouldn't be able to meet Sehun.
Peniel followed her around every now and then. Soojung knew that it wasn't his choice. As a matter of fact, she knew that he was forced by his parents and her mum. Soojung naturally grew tired of her mum's constant nagging about asking her to break up with Sehun.
Never once did it come across her mind that her mum would do something to her Sehun indirectly.
"You wouldn't break up with him right? Well guess what?" The look on her face was enough to make Soojung sweat in fear, "I'm going to ruin his mother's precious business."
"How? You can't do this!" Soojung raised her voice.
Her mum looked at her and couldn't help but laugh at her silly daughter, "I pulled you out of your contract with her company. Since you're their main model, what makes you thing her measly business is going to prosper if you're not going to model for them anymore?"
Soojung stared at her mum. Anger filled her eyes but she knows that there's nothing she could do to stop her mum.
"Do as I say or there'll be consequences," Her mum warned her, "You may go now. Don't be late for the dress fitting and photo shoot tomorrow."
--
Soojung sighed as she stepped out of the lift. She tightened the scarf around her neck when she felt a cold breeze.
"Soojung," she felt someone holding her arms and she stopped walking.
Soojung turned to face the person and was taken aback when she realised that it was her brother. "What do you want?" Soojung asked him coldly.
As much as she misses her brother, Soojung couldn't help but felt betrayed when she found out that her brother supports their mum's decision.
"Can we talk?" Yunho asked softly.
"I'm tired. I'm going home," Soojung brushed his hands away and walked off. Yunho chased after her but stopped when he saw Kris with his sister. He felt jealous knowing that Soojung found someone whom she is able to treat like a big brother.
*I'm the one who's supposed to send you home and protect you. Krystal, I'm sorry.*
--
"So?" Kris asked without taking his eyes off the road.
"What?" Soojung replied in English.
Kris stepped on the brake when the red light came on and looked at Soojung, "Krys."
"Kris," Soojung looked back at him.
"Don't joke around with me. Did she threaten you again?" He asked once more.
Soojung nods her head and sighed, "She's pulling me out of the contract with Mrs Oh if I don't break up with Sehun."
Kris gawked at her, "I'm serious Oppa! That woman's out to destroy anyone who gets in her way!"
The two fell silent after that conversation. They both know that there's no stopping Lee Yunji. Kris dropped Soojung off at her front gate when he saw Sehun seating on the bench.
"Talk to him. I'm sure he'd understand. Good night," Soojung watch as Kris' car sped off. She took a deep breath in and walked towards Sehun.
"Hey there," Soojung took a seat beside him and handed him a hot pack.
"Thanks," Sehun took it and rubbed his cold hands, "How was your day?"
Soojung frowned and Sehun knew what she meant. He put the hot pack down and hugged her instead, "Let's break up."
At that moment, Soojung felt her entire world crumbling down. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Although she knew that this is going to happen in the future, Soojung didn't know that it will be this soon.
"Sehun ah," those words managed to escape her trembling lips. Sehun didn't say anything but instead held onto her tighter. He finally let go and gave her one last kiss before standing up, "I'm really sorry."
Soojung looked up and saw that Sehun was crying. His handsome face was wet from his tears. Her heart broke into a million pieces and she cried harder as she held on to his hands, "Please don't do this."
"I love you my Princess. Live well without me," with that, Sehun left Soojung and he ran away.
Soojung sat on the bench, sobbing hard as she looked at her boyfriend's disappearing figure.
"No! Come back! Sehun! No!" Soojung shouted at the top of her lungs but Sehun was no longer in sight. She dropped on her knees and cried her heart out. To make things worse for them, it started snowing.
*It snowed when I first saw you and now it's snowing again.*
