“Mama, whats wrong?” Yunho asked in worry as he saw her crying.

“He’s right…it was my fault…all my fault.”

“Gongju~”

“I’m the reason why he died, Yunho.”

“Jungah, stop saying that.”

“The reason why your sunbae died,……it’s me!”

Yunho’s eyes widened.

“He did that because he was protecting you~”

“No, it was because I didn’t listen.” She shook her head and covered her ears.

“He….told me not..to go out that day…..but…I still went out….” Tears stained her cheeks.

“Lee Minho Woodalchi….he was…my first Woodalchi..I lied.”

Yunho could only nod.

“I let him…die. I should never have~”

Yunho just hugged her.

“Stop blaming yourself mama, it’s not right. He wanted to keep you safe.”

“But…he died…….because of my~”

“Jungah, stop it. All this blame…is not doing you any good.” He said firmly.

Jungah just pressed her cheek on his chest.

“We’re here for you, Jungah. So stop crying.” Yunho whispered.

Jungah looked down as the king lectured her.

“You punched him?! Gongju how could you~”

“Then do you expect me to receive his insults with grace, father?” She looked up. The king’s eyes widened.

“Never have I met such an insolent man. And to think it was my father who had allowed him to enter my quarters.”

Jaejoong stood up from his seat.

“I’ll be taking my leave then.” Jungah said as she walked out of the room.

“Kim Jungah~”

“Pyeha, let her be.” Jaejoong said.

“Lee Sanghoon, that man mentioned about Minho. He…taunted Jungah.”

“He knows about him?” The king looked confused.

“He has been keeping tabs on the princess secretly. He…is interested in her.”

The king crossed his arms.

Jungah ran out of hall, her three guards followed her.

“Mama, walk slowly. You might trip~”

“Oppa…I want ice cream….lots.” Sha faced Yoochun. Yoochun nodded and left.

Junsu and Yunho followed her back the quarters.

“I’m sorry I lied. About….not knowing about Woodalchi, and~”

“Don’t be, mama. We understand.” Junsu said.

“Su~”

“It’s fine, as long as you’re safe, Jungah.” Junsu patted her hand. Yunho smiled as he watched her.

Yoochun placed a huge tub of ice cream on the table. Jungah smiled and picked up her spoon.

“I think I’m going to be grounded.” She muttered as she dug in.

“Mama, what you did was right, you just simply put him back in his place.” Yoochun nodded. Jungah sighed and smiled at him thankfully.

“I knew something was wrong with him, from the very beginning. I…assume…you know about..my first Wooldachi?” She asked lowly.

The three nodded.

“Lee Minho, Woodalchi General.” Junsu said. Jungah nodded with a smile.

“You…guys have no idea..how surprised I was when I heard that I would be guarded by the Woodalchi again.” She nodded as she looked at her ice cream.

Yunho smiled.

“We’re happy to be of service to you, gongju. You’re a very special princess.” Yoochun nodded and gripped her hand once.

“He said the same thing. Thanks, oppa.” She nodded.

“I heard you broke someone’s nose today.” A voice joined in.

Changmin grinned at her as he went in.

“Gee, word spread that fast?” She winced. Changmin nodded and kissed her forehead before sitting down.

“Lee Sanghoon, that idiot went home crying to his father. He’s really angry with you.”

Jungah shrugged and ate more.

“I’m proud of you, gongju. You’re the best.” Changmin smiled. Jungah rolled her eyes at him.

“Then, we’ll leave you two talk.” Yunho said before they left.

Yunho walked around the palace gardens. He stopped when he arrived at the huge pond with a bridge across it, then he looked up at the dark sky.

His lips formed a smile as he remembered what Jungah did earlier.

Standing up for them…and punching the other guy.

It made him feel proud.

And….troubled.

His thoughts….were filled with her.

It was his rule to never grow feelings for someone he is to protect. But unknowingly he got so attached to her already.

It was against his principles.

It was wrong.

And yet it felt so right.

When he hugged her, it made him feel happy. He was protective of her, but in a different way.

It was a new feeling to him but it made him feel alive.

“What are you doing?” Jungah tugged on his sleeve.

Yunho blinked and looked at her.

“Mama, why are you out here?”

“Changmin left already, I couldn’t find Su and Chunnie Woodalchi at home. Then I saw you brooding here.”

“Brooding?” Yunho chuckled. Jungah shrugged and held onto his sleeve.

“Thanks..for listening to me earlier.”

“It was nothing, Jungah.”

She smiled.

“This bridge~”

“I know, this is where you first met sunbae right?”

She blinked up at him.

“It was quite obvious, you always would pass by this place.”

“This is also the first place where I learned how to use a dagger. He taught me things.” She mused. Yunho smiled and placed his hand over hers.

“He must have trained you well, you hurt Lee Sanghoon pretty badly.”

Jungah’s eyes widened as she gazed on his hand on hers.

“Well, I got really pissed earlier.” She nodded. Yunho chuckled and placed his hand down.

She didn’t let go of his sleeve, she didn’t want to.

“But, must you wear this black suit inside the palace?”

Yunho nodded.

“It makes you guys look so..bad anyways.” She nodded.

“Yunho Woodalchi?” She asked. Yunho turned to her.

“You..have to promise me something.” She stuck out her pinky finger.

“What is it?”

“You…if you are to leave, you must tell me the reason before leaving arasso?”

“Jungah~”

“If possible, don’t leave.” She nodded as she pulled his hand and twined her pinky with his briefly.

Yunho smiled and caressed her cheek.

“I don’t have plans to leave, gongju.”
