Baby Daddy (Discontinued)

Jieun pushed the cart around the supermarket trying to find some food to buy and make breakfast with. Jieun had a nice talk with Zinger in the parking lot and Zinger suggested a very good supermarket for her to buy food at. So that’s where she is now.

She was lazily pushing the cart around, leaning against the handle, looking around the shelves to see what looks good. Jieun puff out some air and decided to get some food that was the necessity to have. So she went around the store and grabbed what she needed for the house and checked it out. She walked out of the store and walked to her car, carrying her bags to the car. Jieun decided, after getting in the car, that she just gets some food at a café.

Remembering the name of the café Zinger works at, she decided to drive over there and eat breakfast. Trying to remember where the café was, Jieun made her way to the café. After finding the café, Jieun took note at the outside. It was pretty modern looking, different from the other cafés she seen back in Seoul.

Jieun parked her car along the sidewalk and walked inside the café. Once she entered the place a lot of people were sitting at tables and some were sitting in booths, couches and what not. In other words the place gave a very comfortable feeling. Jieun even noticed a stage set up, a band was playing a very soothing ballad, and Jieun couldn’t help but sway to the music.

                “Jieun!”

Jieun turned to the voice and saw Zinger waving at her. Jieun smiled and waved back. “What are you doing here?” Zinger asked.

“I’m here for breakfast because I realized that I’m actually a little lazy to make food.” Jieun smiled.

Zinger laughed, “Here, I’ll give you a seat and a menu, do you want a table or a booth?”

“A booth is fine.” Zinger nodded her head and lead Jieun to a booth. Jieun slide in the booth while Zinger handed her a menu.

“You can look through the menu and Hyosung unnie can take your order.”

                “Who?” Jieun question.

“The girl with the gummy smile and the purple hair.” Jieun turned saw a girl smiling with her gums showing taking someone’s order. Jieun nodded her head and Zinger walked away to take an order. Jieun looked through the menu and noticed that everything looks very good. Finally deciding to stick with an omelet and some coffee, she called for someone to take her order.

“Hi, I’m Hyosung and I’ll be taking your order,” Hyosung smiled, “What can I get you?”

“Um, can I get an omelet and a coffee?”

“Sure, do you want cream and sugar with your coffee?”

                “Yes please.”

“Okay, I’ll get that in for you.” Hyosung gave Jieun a smile before leaving.

“Can you speed this up a little bit?” Youngjae asked. Jieun glared at the younger one.

“What did I say about interrupting me?”

                “Not to do it…”

                “Yes, so don’t interrupt me.”

“But can you at least speed it up or something, ‘cause I really don’t think this part is necessary.” Youngjae stated.

Jieun sighed and stared at everyone, they all stared at Youngjae and back at Jieun, “Fine.” Jieun told him.

Jieun got her food and took a bite from the omelet and she hummed in satisfaction. Hyosung passed by her table and asked if the food was okay or not.

“It’s delicious. Probably the best omelet I had in a long time.” Jieun smiled.

Hyosung laughed, “We do have the best chefs here,” Hyosung stuck up her thumb, showing the chefs deserved a thumbs up for their great work, and Jieun couldn’t help but agree to that. “I also want to ask you something.”

Jieun took another bite and wiped with her napkin, “About what?”

“How do you know Zinger, do you go the same school as her?”

“Oh no,” Jieun said, shaking her head, “I’m her new neighbor, I’m from Seoul and I’m just here for my gap year.”

“Oh you took a year off?” Hyosung asked, curiously, “And I’m sorry if I’m like prying into your life.”

Jieun smiled and laughed, “You’re not. And yeah I took a year off; I just didn’t want to go back to school just yet. So I took a year off.”

“Ah, I almost did that, but my boyfriend persuaded me to go to school right away.”

“That’s a good thing; I mean you have a boyfriend that cares about your career.”

Hyosung laughed, “I’m a dance major and the same with my boyfriend, and he didn’t want to go alone, because he’s a wimp like that.”

Jieun couldn’t help but laugh at that statement and that made Hyosung laughed as well. “

Zinger walked to them and placed her arm around Hyosung’s shoulder, “Unnie, I think you need to let Jieun here eat her breakfast, or brunch or something, whatever.” Hyosung laughed and gently pushed Zinger’s arm off her.

“Okay, okay,” Hyosung smiled at Jieun, “Have a nice meal Jieun.”

                “Thanks.”

Zinger slide in the other side, opposite from Jieun, smiled at her. Jieun took another bite and a sip from her coffee, “Yes?”

                “Oh nothing,”

Jieun gave Zinger a look before taking another bite, “You have this look like you want to say something. “

“I do?” Zinger tilted her head to the side.

                “Okay now you’re being weird.”

Zinger laughed, “Sorry, I just do this to people I befriend first hand.”

“I’m your friend?” Jieun asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

“Of course,” Zinger exclaimed, “You seem like an amazing person so I have to befriend you.” Zinger smiled.

Jieun couldn’t help but laugh at that.

“So why aren’t you working right now?”

                “I’m on a little break.”

Jieun nodded her head. She glanced around the place and saw people comfortably talking to one another. “What are you going to do for the rest of the day?” Jieun heard Zinger asked.

Jieun shrugged, “I should probably get a job somewhere or something, but I don’t know where exactly.”

Zinger nodded her head but instantly grinned at Jieun, “You should work here! We’re always hiring.”

                “Really?”

“Yep,” Zinger nodded her head, “It’ll be nice working here. The staff here is amazing and really nice. And besides you’ll have me and Hyosung noona. She seems to really like you.”

Jieun laughed, “I like her too. She seems really bubbly.”

                “That’s unnie for ya.”

Jieun couldn’t help but look at the band playing on stage; they were only playing their instruments not ever once singing. “Does the band have singer?” Jieun asked, pointing to the band playing. Zinger turned her head and looked at where Jieun was pointing. She turned her head back and sadly shook her head.

“Sadly no,” Zinger frowned, “Their singer quit on them a few months back. My boss didn’t want to let them go, even if they didn’t have a singer, they still play really well. And the customers don’t seem to mind, they really like it either way.”

Jieun nodded her head and she suddenly thought of an idea. “Hey Zinger, I think I’ll take up on that job offer.”

-------

Jieun awkwardly walked up to the band, who was tuning their instruments, she walked up the guy with the guitar. “Umm, excuse me?”

The guitarist looks up and raised an eyebrow at Jieun, whom was awkwardly standing there. “Yes?”

“Mmm, I heard from a friend that you didn’t have a singer,”

“Did Zinger tell you?” The guy questioned Jieun.

“Yeah she did.” She heard the guy sighed, “But if she didn’t tell me I wouldn’t have come up with this offer.”

                “What offer?”

“Well,” Jieun shifted her weight on either of her feet, “Since you don’t have a singer for your band and I happen to sing a tad I was wondering if I could maybe, I don’t know, sing.” Jieun blinked at him.

The guy looked at her with a weird look plastered on his face. “Did you just offer to sing in my band?” Jieun nodded her head. “And you sing?”

                “A tad,”

“Huh… You know agreeing for you to sing in my band is a little sketchy since you only sing a tad.

                “I’m quite aware of that.”

“Interesting,” The guy looked at her hard, and Jieun stared back equally as hard, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Jieun widen her eyes, “Are you serious?”

“Yeah,” The guy placed his guitar strap over his shoulders, “Why? You weren’t expecting I’ll say yes?”

“Yeah, to be honest,” Jieun stared at him, still with her wide eyes, “I mean you just met me and like you said before, it’ll be really sketchy in agreeing with letting me sing.”

The guy smiled at her, and Jieun couldn’t but noticed that he had a nice smile.

“Are you serious?!”

“Shut it the two of you!”

“There’s a first for everything,” The guy smiled, “Oh, my name is Kim Yong Bin.”

                “Song Jieun,”

“Well Jieun noona, do you have a song in mind?”

“Wait noona?!” The guys exclaimed which resulted in them getting a slap in the face with a pillow.

“Yeah, I was pretty shock too when he said that. I’m still shock about it, I mean I don’t know why, he didn’t look older me, he looked pretty young. I just don’t understand why I thought he was older.”

“Wait noona?”

“Yeah you’re my noona.” Yong Bin told her.

“How do you know I’m older than you? For all I know you could be older.”

Yong Bin laughed, “I’m about to be in my senior year of high school.”

“Okay, yeah I’m older.” Jieun nodded her head, which made Yong Bing laughed.

“Okay, any song you have in mind?”

                “I do actually.”

-------

Yong Bin tapped the microphone getting the attention of everyone in the café. “Hello, everyone it’s Kim Yong Bin here,” Everyone there clapped their hands and cheered, “And if you didn’t notice before it was only some instrumental stuff, but I think it’s time for something different. Here’s Song Jieun singing with us today.”

Everyone clapped as Jieun stepped up to the microphone, she smiled, “Hi I’m Jieun and I’m going to be singing It’s Cold.

As the keys from the keyboard started playing Jieun started singing.

Saranghada apeun geon

Geudaen amu jalmot eomneunde

Jakku mianhadaeyo

Jieun saw Hyosung and Zinger in the back, smiling and waving at her. They gave her thumbs up, mouthing that she was doing great.

As she sang Jieun noticed the customers were slowly getting into her singing. They were swaying along to the music, slowly drawing into the music. It’s been a while since Jieun had sang in front of an audience, but overall Jieun had never once lost her confidence when it comes to singing. She did get accepted to a university for her singing, but even if she did love singing she felt something was missing. That was one of the many other reasons why she didn’t attend university right away. But nevertheless Jieun will always love singing.

As Jieun sang that last note, the audiences began to cheer. She noticed that there were a lot more people than usual, she couldn’t help but let out a slight laugh. Yong Bin gave Jieun thumbs up and she saw Hyosung and Zinger cheering their hearts out. Jieun smiled and bowed down, “Thank you!”

-------

Jieun parked her car in the parking lot and entered the apartment complex. She didn’t realize it was getting dark until after she was done giving a show at the café. She smiled at the many people that showed up to watch her sing, as well eat the amazing food. A smile broadly became bigger after finding out that she’ll be working at the café, not as a waitress, but as the band’s singer. She happily sighed as she reached the elevator. Today was just an amazing day for Jieun.

                “You seem pretty happy.”

Jieun turned around and saw Jonghyun walking towards her with his guitar case in hand. She smiled at him and nodded her head. “I’m very happy! Today just keeps getting better.”

                “What happened?”

“I got offered to sing in a band at the café Zinger works at.” She smiled at him.

Jonghyun smiled at her, “That’s amazing,” They both entered the elevator and Jieun pressed the button to the tenth floor, “We’re still on for later?” Jieun remembered that she had a little outing with Jonghyun set for later that night. She smiled and nodded her head at Jonghyun. “Yeah we’re still on for later.” She replied back.

“Okay, I just need to change and I’ll come stopping by at your place and we’ll head off then.”

                “Okay,”

----------

Jieun just got out of the shower and she was in her room looking at the clothes that she set out on her bed. She placed her hands on each of her hips thinking about what she was going to wear. It wasn’t a date, but why was she getting all worked up about it? She was just going out with a new friend as a thank you for helping her move in that’s all. She’s not going to overreact everything and start acting like this was the first time she went somewhere with a guy, she’s not a high school girl anymore.

But Jieun could feel something different now that she wasn’t a high school girl; she’s a fresh new girl, an adult and all that stuff. “I’m going out with a handsome guy,” Jieun held her head, “Oh god; I’m going on a freaking date!” Jieun started to freak out about the littlest things, what she was going to wear, how hair should be, should she wear make-up or not, the littlest things.

Finally settling with some skinny jeans, a white shirt and an over-size sweater to match with. She decided against tying her hair up so she decided to let it fall. She placed a small amount of make-up on, not to look over the top, but to have some glow to her face. Feeling quite satisfied with her look she exited her room, the same time a knock was heard on her door.

She walked to the door and opened it and she could feel her eyes widen at the man she saw. She saw Jonghyun wearing a grey shirt and sporting a grey coat and she noticed his hair styled up. Jieun couldn’t keep her eyes off of him. “Wow,” She breathed out, “You look amazing.”

Jonghyun smiled, “You’re not half bad yourself.” Jieun could feel the warmth in her cheeks rise. “C’mon, let’s go.” Jieun stepped out of her apartment and locked the door.

                “Where are we going?”

Jonghyun glanced at her before giving her a smile, “Somewhere nice,”

“And I’m stopping there.” Jieun told everyone.

“What?!” Daehyun exclaimed, “You can’t just stop right there.”

“Um, yeah I can,” Jieun retorted, “I’m the narrator.”

“But I want to know how the date went.” Zelo frowned.

“Maybe next time, but now everyone should hit the hay, and Zinger and I need to leave.”

The youngers complained, but after looking at the look Jieun was giving they said their goodbyes/goodnights to Zinger and Jieun and went to their rooms.

“I’m going to go too,” Himchan stretched, “Goodnight Jieun and goodnight and goodbye for now to you too Zinger.” He smiled at her, which he got a smiled in return.

                “Goodnight, Himchan.”

Himchan left the living room, and Zinger told Jieun she’ll wait outside for her. Jieun was about to clean up, when Yongguk told her not to, instead he walked her to the door. “I know you’re curious about what happened on that date.” Jieun told him.

“Oh so you acknowledge it as a date?” Yongguk mocked.

Jieun rolled her eyes, “Yes,” Jieun turned to face him, “Just so you know Yongguk he’s a great guy, really sweet. And I know you won’t really care for that unless you met him, but just hear it from me.” Yongguk stared at her, “I may or may not had a crush on him back then, but I’ll tell you this; he was a great guy, and don’t be all defensive when I talk about a guy or hang out with one. You’re really bipolar when it comes to that.”

Yongguk nodded his head, “That’s very true.”

“But try not to be. Not until Hana grows to be a teenager, then you can start being a overprotective weirdo.”

Yongguk laughed, “Hana isn’t going to be dating until she’s thirty.”

                Jieun smiled, “Goodnight Bang,”

                Yongguk smiled back, “Goodnight Song,”
