'Alrighty! Med catch up class starts now!' Suho said, smiling happily.

'Ne!' you said loudly

Lay beamed.'Ne!'

 

'What's an adjective?' Kris said

'A describing word!' Baekhyun replied

'What's a verb?' Kris said

'A doing word!' Baekhyun replied

'What's an adverb?' Kris said

'An adjective to describe a doing word!' Baekhyun replied

'Give me examples!' Kris said

'How many?...'

'Erm... Two?'

'Quickly and slowly!' Baekhyun said. 

'Good! Okay, we can move onto the complex sentence structure which you're pretty good at anyway, Baekhyun and then we can make a start at devouring this long vocab list'

'Let's do it, hyung!'

 

Tao and Xiumin had run down to buy lunch as D.O was in no position to cook. He was knee deep in a project that had its due date nearing and D.O sat in his room frantically rearranging his notes. Kai was getting along catching up on his missed maths problems and Luhan was in the shower having gone to football training earlier. Chanyeol was fast asleep under the university magazine on the couch and Chen was finishing the last few sentences of his essay on the laptop. 

'Asa! Maths, you will never beat me down! I have conquered you!' Kai screeched at the top of his voice. 

He stood up on top of his chair and wooped, fist pumping the air. Chen slammed down the cover of the laptop and Kai got off the chair. 

'Woah... Sorry, hyung. Did I annoy you?'

Chen smiled. 'Course not! It's just that I've... Also finished my work!' He stood up on the chair with Kai and both of them wooped in delight, victory dancing around the room. Chanyeol groaned and got up. 

'You're too loud! Shh! People are working!'

'You were sleeping, Chanyeol...'

'But they're working!' he said, pointing to your little study session in the corner of the room.

Chen yawned and stretched out his arms just as Luhan walked out of the shower. 'I'm going to wash, okay? Got myself a hot date tonight'

'As usual!' You shouted across the room.

Suho hit your head with his ruler. 'Concentrate, Haneul!'

You rubbed your head. 'Ow... Yes sir...'

Lay smiled as he sipped his water.

'Sehun-ssi! Has everyone given you their lighting directions?'

Sehun nodded.

'Mianhae, Sehun-ssi. I'll buy you a coffee in just a moment. Ssaem's been working you too hard, hasn't she?... Aigoo... But can you go and paste these posters up eveywhere?... I want this hall filled with people tomorrow!'

'Ne, sunsengnim!'

'I owe you one, Sehun-ssi!'

 

'Jinri-ssi! Is this all you need?'

'That's perfect, ssaem! Thank you!'

'Okay good. Run and tell the staging team when and where you'll need these to be placed'

'Ne!'

 

'Taejoon-ssi? Are you ready? I haven't heard your rehearsal yet'

'Mianhae, ssaem. I've still got some final things to add to the song'

'Did you compose it yourself?'

'Yeah...'

'I see. I expect it to be outstanding then'

'I'll try not to disappoint you then, ssaem'

 

'Seohee-ssi, have you sent your backing track to the tech team?'

'Yes!'

'Wonderful. Prepared?'

'Of course, ssaem'

'I thought so. A Berklee College student like you must be fearless'

'Aniyo, ssaem. You're thinking too highly of me... I haven't composed in Korea for so long...'

'When did you leave?'

'A few years ago'

'I see. Don't worry, Seohee-ssi, I'm sure you'll do fine'

The girl named Seohee nodded and bowed to her teacher before running off to practice again. She wasn't going to be left unprepared even if it was just a small show like the university one.

Jenny and Minwoo were at the dorm having bumped into Xiumin and Tao on their way back. They had bought a load of sushi using Tao's gift voucher he had won at a charity raffle and upon seeing the campus couple, the two boys made no hesitation in inviting them in to share. 

'Jenny!'

'Minwoo-hyung!'

'Ah, the great campus couple has arrived! All bow please!' said Baekhyun joking around. 

'Baekhyun!' Jenny whined

Everyone laughed. 

'Sit! Sit down! Let's eat! I'm starving!' said Kris 

D.O opened the lids of the plastic boxes and everyone gazed at the rows of perfectly cut sashimi and nigiri. 

'Dig in!'

'Here you go, you guys. Treat on me'

The teacher passed a bag of goodies to Sehun, Aaron and Jinri as they sat together. 

'Instant pot ramyun! Ah ssaem, you're too kind!' Jinri said smiling. She got up and ran over to the kettle to begin boiling the water.

'Hyung... Want the grape or the apple?' Sehun said quietly to Aaron

'You can choose, Sehun-ah. I don't mind'

'You can have the apple, Taejoon-hyung'

'But the apple is the nicer one. Are you sure?'

Sehun nodded.'You're performing tonight. You need it more than me' He opened the bottle and took a glug from it. 'Ahn Taejoon, fighting!'

Aaron felt himself smile as he sat with the younger boy. 

'Why aren't you in the show, Sehun?'

Sehun shrugged. 'They didn't need me this time so I volunteered myself to do lighting. I like being backstage'

'I see...'

'Hyung?'

'Mmm?'

'Why are you singing tonight?'

Aaron stared at Sehun. 'I... I suppose there's something I want to tell everyone tonight and well... Since anyone can sing in the show, I put myself up for it'

'Anyone can be in the show tonight?'

Aaron nodded. 'As long as it's singing. Dancing and acting had to be pre-arranged'

'Even if you don't study a performance subject?'

'Yeah... Why? Do you want to perform a song now?'

'What?! Ani! No way! I'm fine with my lightbulbs, hyung!'

'I'm only winding you up, Sehun-ah. Don't worry about it'

During the afternoon break, Sehun ran to the bathroom. He took out his phone and dialled the one closest to him. 

'Hello? Sehunnie? How's the rehearsal going?' said Luhan from the other end of the phone

'Hyung, there's no time for that! I've been talking to Taejoon-hyung and-'

'Taejoon-hyung? Since when were you so friendly with him?'

'Hyung! Listen! He said he's singing tonight to tell everyone something important'

'And?'

'And... Wait, don't you get it?'

'Get what? Sehunnie, what is it?'

'Hyung, are you dumb?! What could he possibly want to tell the world?'

'Hang on, Sehun-ah. Are you trying to say... He wants to profess his love to Haneul? Because if you are, boy-'

'Bingo, hyung!'

'Wait, you were being serious?!'

'Hyung, why are you so stupid sometimes? I know you like her too! So what are you going to do about it?'

'I... I... What can I do?'

'Hyung, you're really being an idiot.'

'Ah. You want me to sing as well, don't you?...'

'There we go!'

'Sehunnie, you know how much I hate-'

'Hyung, can you really let her go? Have you seen the dramas? The boy professes his love by singing her a song and she decides to date him and they fall in love and make a hundred pretty babies'

'You've been watching too many dramas, Sehun. That doesn't happen in real life'

'He came all the way to Korea for her, hyung.'

'Yeah well, he's half Korean anyway-'

'To Korea. For her. I can't put it anymore black and white than that.'

'Sehun, you're asking me to do the impossible! I can't get up and sing tonight in front of everyone! What if... What if I get booed? What if-'

'Hyung, what will you do if you lose her to him?'

'I'll... I'll die...'

'Then what are you going to do?'

'Sing tonight!'

'There we go! Make sure you come over before the show and tell the teacher in charge, okay? I'm going now, hyung. Good luck! You can do it!'

The line went dead. Luhan stared at his phone in disbelief. He sighed and shook his head. 

'I can't sing tonight. I can't and I won't...' he whispered 'But I can't lose her to him either...'
