Chapter 34

My Enemy, My Lover in the Skatepark

The heat in your body, the excitement, the lust, the gentle and smooth touches from Yongguk, everything was gone once you heard Amber’s voice. A very annoyed look flashed across Yongguk’s face before he looked into your very shocked one. You widened your eyes and suddenly your breathing was uneven out of panic.

You slightly pushed Yongguk back, and luckily he didn’t protest either, before putting your finger over his mouth to show him to be quiet.

“I’m almost done,” you managed to get out of your mouth with a somewhat shaky voice. “Just… just wait a little bit more.”

“But I can’t hold it in anymore… That’s it I’m coming in!”

“No!” you clenched the drapery that was around your still wet body. “I said wait a little bit more!”

“But I want-“

“I’m out,” Yongguk said out of nowhere  which Amber heard because she stopped talking midsentence. He pushed away your hand, gave you a quick peek on your cheek and walked out of the shower cabin. With eyes that were two times bigger than usual, you watched him open the door and walk out, just to be greeted by a very shocked Amber.

“What the hell..?” with horrified eyes she looked between you and Yongguk before her gaze ended at you again. “Did you do what I think you did?” he raised her hand with her index finger pointing at you, and slowly entered the bathroom.

You shook your head with a confused look before the real question hit you, “What? No, oh my God Amber, of course not! Who do you think I am?”

“Somebody who is in panic right now, that’s for sure,” she rolled her eyes before looking at you with a serious face again, “Then why are you nervous?”

“I-I d-don’t..”

“Jin Ah, what the hell was Yongguk doing in our bathroom?!” she interrupted you after realizing that you were pretty much speechless.

“I swear, I don’t know myself! He followed me…” you were still standing in the shower cabin with the drapery around your body.

“I will just pretend that I didn’t see a ,” she pinched the bridge of her nose, “Lucky you, the two of you told us about your relationship otherwise my reaction would have been much more exaggerated.”

You smiled and shook your head at her statement. That’s why you loved her. She understood some things right away even though she was hard headed. The two of you were silent for a moment, both standing there and looking around in the room before you fake coughed once.

“Would you mind…?” you motion for her to leave the room so you can put on some clothes. She rolled her eyes and told you to hurry up before her bladder exploded.

When she left the room, you breathed in and out deeply once. So close… and you didn’t mean just the fact that she busted you. You were even closer to do something you maybe would have regret later on.

“Excuse me, do you know where I can find the obstacle course section?” asked a middle aged woman in English while she tapped you slightly on your shoulder which caught your attention right away. She was standing with a boy and a girl. The boy seemed to be the older one and he was holding onto a skateboard with a helmet on his head.

You looked at the others first and everything their faces told you was, confused gang. You turned to the woman again and smiled, “Actually yes,” you nodded and looked at the map she was holding, “You are standing right here,” you started explaining when suddenly Yongguk walked up to you and pushed you to the side.

“You know what, I can show you where the section is located Mrs…”

“Brown,” she finished his sentence and smiled.

“Mrs. Brown,” he repeated, “It’s my girlfriend’s turn to compete and I don’t want her to miss it,” he explained with a smiling yet concerned face.

“Oh, I see,” the middle aged woman nodded and threw you a huge smile, “Such a caring boyfriend you got here. But fine, you can show me then where it is located.”

“I can you halfway, I have to buy some drinks for my friends too,” he mentioned for her to start walking ahead before he quickly turned towards you and kissed your forehead. After that he ran after the woman and her children.

You stayed in the same spot for a little time more because your brain tried to process what happened just seconds ago. Yongguk is so not himself anymore. He is a totally another person who left his cocky side somewhere else. You actually liked this side of him more and smiled to yourself.

“Come on now, noona. Time to own some other chicks!” Zelo pushed you forward and you started skating through the crowd and towards the place you would be competing at.

Speed. Everything about today’s contests was about skater’s speed and that is one of your stronger sides. Without any problems you flew through all the trails and completed all the difficult stuff that were randomly put everywhere on the trails. During the last part you had to skate around a little bigger pillar that was positioned in the middle of a huge pool like ramp. You pushed your skateboard twice with your foot before bending down and grabbing the side of the skateboard with your right hand. After that you started shifting your body backwards so you could wheel around the pillar with a higher speed. Everything went smoothly and you ended it by skating a little bit more, while your hair under your cap fluttered in the wind, jumping of the skateboard and lifting it up in the air.

All the people in the crowd were impressed by your skills and didn’t hesitate to give you the applaud you deserved. Your heart started beating out of excitement and you grabbed your skateboard tightly before showing everyone a peace sign with your fingers before skating away from the crowd and towards your friends. The results from the judges came faster than you thought and you got what you expected. The highest score.

“Like a boss,” you smiled in satisfaction and high fived Amber.

“Luna you’re up next,” Daehyun’s eyes didn’t leave the list.

“Oh man,” she adjusted her clothes and picked her skateboard up, “I hate speed skating.”

“You can do it,” Himchan patted her cheeks gently and turned her around to send her off.

While she skated away to prepare herself Youngjae walked closer to the group, “You really think she can do it?” he questioned Himchan’s statement.

“Of course not,” he laughed, “She is weak when it comes to this.”

And so it was. Unfortunately, Luna kept losing her balance and control of the skateboard because of the quickness, so she lost and couldn’t continue anymore. The judges here were really strict and didn’t have mercy which is obvious because of all the hundred contestants that attended. Already the first day, twenty percent were out.

“I prefer disqualified,” she crossed her arms as everyone talked about her.

“Whatever you want, babe,” Himchan hugged her from behind at which everyone rolled their eyes, including you.

Their cheesiness reminded you of how sweet their relationship is and that on the other hand reminded you of your own relationship and boyfriend that was not present there. You furrowed your brows and looked around a bit in hope to find him somewhere but that was hopeless.

“Do you know where Yongguk is?” you asked Jongup who was standing the closest to you.

He shrugged once while shaking his head, “All I know is that he went to buy us a drink but never came back.”

“Yeah, I will go and try to find him,” you said while tapping his shoulder and skating away.

You skated towards the direction that he went to with Mrs. Brown and lucky you, only at the next corner, you finally spotted him in a small store that sold cold drinks. With a smile on your face you got off of your skateboard and started walking towards the store when suddenly you noticed that he wasn’t alone. There was a girl beside him and they seemed to argue about something. The girl’s back was facing you while you could see Yongguk from the profile.

Something inside of you told you not to interrupt them and instead wait for them to finish but you couldn’t help but eavesdrop on their conversation. You didn’t even see who the girl was so that was the best thing to do at the moment.

“Once again, stay out of my life,” you heard Yongguk say harshly, “All your threats are useless, Gyuri…”

Gyuri?

You looked inside the store again and that’s when you recognized her figure.

“Threats is a brutal word. I prefer warnings,” her annoyingly y voice spoke.

“I don’t care what you prefer, I’m just telling you… Get lost and leave us alone!”
You saw him head towards the cashier with a bunch of drinks in his hands.

“Excuse me?” you looked to your side and saw that a man tried to enter the store but you were clearly blocking his way.

“Oh, sorry,” you moved to the side and whispered so Yongguk couldn’t hear you but it was too late. You were never good at that because you always end up talking louder than supposed.

“Speaking of the devil,” you heard Gyuri’s arrogant comment.

You threw her an unpleasant glare and saw Yongguk give you a shocked look. He quickly turned to the cashier to pay for the drinks so he can leave. In the meanwhile, Gyuri walked up to you with crossed arms.

“Can’t leave him out of your sight for a moment?” she arched her eyebrow.

You just looked at her with an expressionless face, just to not give her the reaction she was waiting for.

“I see,” she continued, “Playing cool because you’re winning this game, but trust me Jin Ah, not for long.”

“Get a life,” was everything you had to say to her when Yongguk walked out of the store with a plastic bag. He grabbed your hand and started pulling you after him. He turned around once and you saw his eyes being filled with hatred.

“Stay out of my way,” he told Gyuri before turning back and walking towards your friends.

As you walked back, his grip on your hand loosened a bit and you figured that his anger was going away. You looked at him and admired his profile for God knows what time. That guy was more and more beautiful for each day. Before you could let your thoughts wander around again you shook your head and looked at him again.

“What was that all about?” you started off.

He just shook his head while still looking forward. “Forget that . Since birth, Gyuri always got everything she wanted and once when she is failing, she becomes desperate in the most disgusting and annoying way ever.”

You nodded once and decided not to ask anything more.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, Luna wasn’t the only one from your friends that were out of the competition. Youngjae and Daehyun were too. The two of them were still pretty good but there were people who were slightly better. Or amazing in other words. Yongguk is usually the first one to compete out of your friends and he never fails to impress on the judges. In fact, he is one of the favorites here.

Although three of your friends were out, no one was sad because this festival was more of a fun trip than a competition. Everyone, including Mr. Bang, were sitting in the hotel’s restaurant and enjoying your dinner. After the very delicious dinner, all of you finally decided to explore the festival more. To eat all the sweets that were offered and just chill out. But before everyone left the hotel, Yongguk came up to your room and dragged you out before anyone. With your hand in his, he led you out of the hotel and towards the festival.

“Hey, we need to wait for the others too,” you pointed towards the hotel.

“Don’t mind them,” he waved, “I want some alone time with you.”

Just then you entered the festival and he turned around to hug you and bring your body really close to his. You didn’t hesitate to put your arms around his torso because closeness was everything you carved for right at the moment. He put his arms over yours and connected his hands behind your lower back.

“Something special you want to do?” he asked gently while leaning his head on you.

You shook your head, which made his head follow the movement. You stayed like that for a couple of minutes, just enjoying each other’s company and nearness. You loved smelling his natural weak scent that intoxicated you every time you were near it. People that walked past you gave you weird looks but you couldn’t care less.

“Come on now,” Yongguk pulled away and reached for your hand again to start exploring the festival.

“I’m not even hungry,” you commented after the loss of skin ship.

Yongguk chuckled at that and shook his head, “Cotton candy is never wrong,” he said and led you towards a random stand that sold the sweet cotton.

“So that’s when Hoya ran away and left me alone with all the trouble,” you finished one of your stories about your and Hoya’s chaotic childhood.

Yongguk laughed during the whole time, “Wow, talk about a tomboy.”

“Hey, it’s called to be yourself and not follow some stupid stereotypical world,” you protested.

“Yeah, yeah. But you can’t deny the fact that you were a trouble maker?”

You lowered your head and hid your face behind your hands, “I guess.”

With all the talk about Hoya you wondered if he was in town and maybe even at the festival but knowing him all too well, he is a guy that lives on impulsive plans so with him you will never know what happens next.

After a long walk around the park, you and Yongguk settled down on one of the benches outside the park, and even there you could see lots of street food stands. You talked for a long time when suddenly two random clowns appeared right in front of you.

Clowns, dolls and silent children. These three things were one of the scariest things you knew and you couldn’t stand looking at them. Having two clowns standing right in front of you, doing stuff with their balloons, started freaking you out.

“I-I’m not i-interested in anything,” you told them which they totally ignored, “Listen, I don’t want to be rude but just go away.”

Once again, they ignored you and instead started making hats out of balloons. Both of them made very scary faces, in your opinion, with their never ending mouth make up. They approached both of you and one of them started putting the hat on your head which was when he totally crossed the line.

“Hey, stop it! I don’t want it!” you protested but he kept on smiling while still trying to put the hat on your head. “I said th-“

The next thing you knew was that both of the clowns were pushed away from you. You looked up and saw a pissed Yongguk look at them with burning eyes.

“She said go away,” he said through clenched teeth. “Get ing lost before I hunt you both down,” he spoke in a very determined yet angry voice which totally scared the two random men. They just looked at you weirdly before running away. Yongguk turned around and bend down till he was in your eye level.

“Are you okay?” he asked with a concerned tone in his voice and you couldn’t help but feel stupid, making such a scene because of two clowns. But on the other side, they are something you have disliked since you were a little child.

You tried to act cool and calm, “Yeah, why?”

He gave you an odd look before laughing in disbelief, “Oh come on, babe, you were totally freaking out because of them besides I already know that you hate them.”

“What? How?”

His odd look didn’t leave his face, “Maybe you told me during one of our secret nights? You know when we talked for hours..”

“Oh,” you were surprised that he even remembered. Even though everything was calm between you during these nights, you still disliked each other otherwise so the fact that he remembered such a thing was actually a big deal that showed you that he cared about you even then.

He laughed at your short response and sat down beside you again, “Why did I fell for you again?”

At that you automatically looked at him with a grimace glued on your face, “Excuse me?”

“Yeah, I mean look at you…”

“Oh are we playing that game now too?” you cocked your eyebrow and leaned towards his face. He looked straight into your eyes with a smirk that you haven’t seen in a while, playing across his mouth. “Yeah, I wonder that too then.”

He looked down at your mouth and stared at it for a long time, but you didn’t move an inch, just when he was about to push you closer you heard a tinkling sound from your side. Someone clearly dropped a lot of coins on the ground that were now flying everywhere.

Just as you looked to your side to he who that poor person is, you froze in your spot. Especially after meeting his sad yet shocked eyes.

It was JB.

The last time I read this story of yours, I didn't left a comment since I didn't know what to do nor what to say. But even after few years (I remember read this probably three years ago when it almost completed), it still left an impact for me. Truthfully this is one of my favorite story and the good written one. I always prefer the 20 chapters fiction and I remember that I need few days to finish read this one, and I have no regret after that (until now, heheh). I'd like to re-read again some time later in my free time since I miss BAP guys too ;)

Chapter 49: Omg! This was so damn adorable ❤❤❤
I loved the whole story and I had to try stop myself from crying whenever Jin Ah got sad...
Well. There are so many moments that were just so funny and made me laugh, so I loved them all. My favorite moment was... I think when Yongguk used the 'Jin Ah Slide' to win.
Just minutes before I read it I was like *oh I bet he's gonna use that Slide Jin Ah beat him with and if that doesn't work he might as well use his 'Mirror' killer-move* So I screamed out "Told u so" so loud XD
But all in all the whole story was cool from beginning til the end. Just loved them all - everything!
Thank you so much

Chapter 50: ♡♡
Aww. And I've come to the finale.
Too bad. I could keep reading this.
..It just got good too.
Thank you, author-nim!
I enjoyed reading this.
Even if my makeup ran a couple times from all the crying I did reading this.
..Though I'm wondering..JB and Yongguk only hated each other in the beginning because of their rivalry..right? Nothing personal.. .
