“Follow me!”

He gripped your hand, and pulled you along with him.

“Oppa, where are we going?”

“Just trust me”

You ran with him, struggling to keep up.

A few minutes ago, you were sitting in your room watching The Notebook and crying into your tub of icecream. Now here you were, being dragged along by your best friend, who had climbed up the side of your window and snuck you out.

“Almost there!” he shouted.

And then you reached a hill.

He stopped, and bent down.

“Hop on.”

“What, no,” you replied, a bit shocked.

He looked back at you, raising his brow, “do you think I’m weak or something?”

“No it’s just-”

And then you were up in the air, his arms wrapped around you.

He ran, putting all his energy into making it up the hill, his grip on you getting a bit tighter.

His breathing got heavier and you could hear his heart pounding.

The chilly wind blew into your face, you felt like you were flying.

And then you were falling back into the ground.

You rolled to your side, gasping as you came face to face with him.

He smiled, “5…4…3…2…1,” he whispered.

You gave him a confused look.

“Up there”

You rolled back to lie on your back., staring up at the sky.

A streak of gleaming white light flew across the sky.

Then another and another.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it.”

He turned to look at you, “yes, she is”

You blushed.

He cracked a small smile before turning back on his back.

He pointed at a certain fading streak.

“You see that one?”

“Mhm”

“I made a wish on it just now” 

“Oh how manly of you,” you joked.

He gave you a small shove.

“I wished that the girl I’ve loved all my life would love me back”

He turned to you again.

“______, will you be my girlfriend?”

You stared into his eyes for a bit over a second, you were shocked.

“Yes” you breathed, closing the space between the two of you.

You pulled away.

“It worked,” you said softly.

And now it was his turn to give you a confused look.

“The shooting star, it worked,” you started, “Bang Yongguk, I love you too.”

He grabbed your hand, entwining your fingers together.

And there you two lay, outshining the stars in the sky.
