“Just come up and give it a try” he handed me a pen and gave a smile.

I got up and walked towards the board. I really had no clue what to do. I hated maths and maths hated me…

He watched me as I struggled.

“Hae Sung”

“Huh?” I spun round

“You can go sit back down” he nodded to my seat

I sat back down feeling a little embarrassed as the students laughed at my stupidity. *I bet they can’t do it either* I huffed.

“Anyone else? Come on, it’s not so hard” he started solving the first one “You’re all perfectly capable to do this. What did your last teacher teach you?”

*Nothing* I thought. Our last teacher would always go on about how we would fail in life and end up marrying a jerk and bearing a child we would never want. It was plain obvious she was describing her life.

“Why is everyone so shy? Hae Sung?”

“Huh?” *Why does he keep choosing me?!*

“What did your last teacher teach you?”

“Uhh…n-nothing”

I used to never stutter but this teacher was sending shivers down my spine every time he spoke to me, or even looked at me.

“Nothing? Really?”

I gulped and nodded sheepishly.
