Mi Hyun sighed as she entered her bedroom, her leg's giving out as she slumped to the floor. She shook her head, pressing the tip's of her finger's to her eyelid's as she fought back the tears.

She sniffled, shaking her head as looked down at the floor, tears falling from her eye's despite her reluctance. She glared down at her ring's, grabbing them and slipping them off her finger's and slamming them down onto the hardwood floor as a memory of Mae Hyun flooded her mind.


"Mimi-ah! I have something to show you!" Mae Hyun exclaimed brightly as she entered her home and spotted her younger sister and Seungri lying on the floor stretching.

Mi Hyun looked up at her older sister, "Yeah, Unnie?"

Mae Hyun sat down on the couch in front of the two teens, and held her hand out happily, "Young Bae-sshii finally presented me with an engagement ring, today!"

Mi Hyun smiled, "That's amazing, Unnie!" she took her sister's hand, marveling at the gorgeous ring, "He really knew what to pick out."

Seungri leaned over and smiled, "It looks so pretty, Noona."

Mae Hyun smiled brightly at the two, "I know. I'm so happy," she stood up and twirled, "We're going to announce the engagement in a couple of more weeks. Just until I'm done with my chemo," she smiled blissfully, "I think I'll ask Umma if she can help me pick out a hanbok," she knelt down and hugged Mi Hyun, "Oh, I'm so happy, baby sister!"

Mi Hyun smiled, hugging her sister back, taking care to be gentle with her frail sister, so much tinier then her twenty-four years, "I'm so happy for you. I know how happy he makes you."

"Do you think he'll want to hear my new song? I wrote it when I was sicker, but do you think he'll still like it?" Mae questioned, leading her sister and Seungri into the kitchen, "Oh, maybe we can see if he has any nice friends in Pochyeon, Mimi, for you."

Mi Hyun laughed, "I'm sure he'll love it. And I don't need a guy right now, Unnie. President YG wants me to debut soon, and I have a strict 'No dating' policy."

"Pish posh! We'll find you, your prince charming. I'm sure your red strings are just waiting to get shorter and join at this moment!" Mae Hyun gushed, too overjoyed at her happiness.

Mi Hyun only giggled, nodding along with her sister as they entered the kitchen.


Mi Hyun sniffled, getting up from the ground as she wiped her eye's, "You were right, Unnie. Our strings did shorten... But in the worst possible way..."

She shook her head as she opened the door and proceeded to the stairs, intent on not spending the rest of the day acting like a child over her husband mourning his dead fiance.

After all, she came before me. I'm just replacing her, she thought sadly, as she walked back into the dining room, leaning against the door frame. She smiled weakly at everyone, nodding to Jung Hyun that she was fine.

Young Bae stood from his chair and walked over to her, wrapping his arm's around her slim waist, the spell that held him to Mae Hyun seemingly broken.

He sighed, resting his chin on her shoulder, "I miss her everyday," he whispered in her ear.

She stiffened, nodding lightly, "I do too..."
