You ran up those never-ending stairs just to find your loving father unconscious on the hospital bed.
“Appa…” you softly called out to him as you slowly walked closer.
“Miss Park? Your father had another heart attack and we’re afraid that he won’t be able to make it through tonight. We’re sorry, we’ve tried out best.” A doctor informed you.
Your legs felt like jelly and weak as you tried to take in what the doctor just said. *This can’t be happening..it’s just a bad dream* Tears starting to form in your eyes causing everything to blur. You sat near your father’s bed and took his hand.
*These hands, will I never be able to hold it again* Hot tears were now overflowing down your face.
FLASH BACK
Your mother died from cancer when you were 2 and your father remarried no long after. Everything started to turn upside down when someone new entered your life. Just like in fairy tales, your stepmother may seem like a beautiful and gentle woman, but truly she’s not. She married your father for his money and hates your guts because your father spoils you too much. A year ago your father’s health started to go worse as he suffered from frequent heart attacks and was submitted to the hospital regularly. Your stepmother of course, never visited him and he never blamed her. She never cared or even bothers because she assumes that she will get all the money once he’s gone.
END OF FLASHBACK
BEEP-BEEP-BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. The noise on the heart monitor started to change making you snap back to reality.
*NO!* You held onto your father’s hand tighter while the doctor ran inside the room and the nurses leading you out.
“Wait, please…no!” “APPA!”
