Jaehwan woke with the giant headache just as he expected. He sighed and tried to sit up, but his head was pounding. “…” He muttered and held his head as he laid back down. He looked up at the ceiling of his hotel and wondered how he made it back here. He told a friend to pick him up. He must have.

“Oh, you’re up?”

Jaehwan flinched in surprise and turned to his side to see Hakyeon sitting on a chair next to the bed staring at him with his arms and legs crossed. He wore a deep frown on his face. “Hyung?” Jaehwan blinked. “Good morning. What are you doing here?”

Hakyeon sighed, “Taking care of you, you fool.” He moved to the edge of the chair and tapped the nightstand. “I got you breakfast, but considering it’s around three in the afternoon, it’s probably cold. Still edible though.” He grabbed a bottle of pills that was sitting next to the breakfast, “Considering you must now have a killer headache, I got you painkillers and water.”
Jaehwan sat up slowly, “Oh, thank you, hyung.” He sensed the tension in the room, but he rathered not address it. He instead grabbed a spoon and started eaten the cold breakfast. “Still good,” he commented. Hakyeon did not answer. He only stared at Jaehwan intently. It was making him uncomfortable.

Jaehwan put his spoon down. “Hyung,” He laughed awkwardly. “Do I have something on my face?” He touched his face and found nothing out of the ordinary. “What is it?” He asked.
Hakyeon sighed again and sat next to Jaehwan, keeping an unusual distance that he had never bothered to keep before. “Jaehwan,” He said softly, looking down. He was acting strange.
“What?” Jaehwan asked with the same tone.
Hakyeon stayed quiet. “Do you…”
“What?” Jaehwan asked again, in a much softer tone. He was worried.
Hakyeon sighed and looked at him, “We’re friends, right?”
Jaehwan blinked a couple of times. The questions was completely unexpected, but then it dawned on him. Hakyeon was most likely with him last night when he was drunk. Jaehwan knew he said things he did not mean with he was not in control of his senses. Maybe he said something that hurt Hakyeon. “Hyung,” Jaehwan put a hand on Hakyeon’s back. Now he felt guilty. “If I said something dumb last night, I am so sorry. I did not mean not. I really did not.”
Hakyeon showed a smile that hinted relief, but he was not going to fully show it. “I know,” He put a hand on top of Jaehwan’s arm. “But still, we’re friends. So we can tell each other everything,” Hakyeon’s lips formed a thin line. Jaehwan nodded, not sure where Hakyeon was going with this. “So if I asked you some questions, will you answer them honestly?”

“To the best of my abilities,” Jaehwan simply answered and picked up the spoon to start eating again.

Hakyeon looked away. That was not the answer he was seeking for, but it was an answer that gave Hakyeon hope in Jaehwan answering his questions truthfully. Though, was it the right time to start asking questions? Jaehwan just woke up, and he still had a massive headache. But when question him if not now?

Hakyeon looked back at Jaehwan, who was in the process of taking two painkiller tablets. He sighed. He barely had the courage to question Jaehwan, but he sure had more now than ever before. People knew something about Jaehwan that Hakyeon did not, and it frustrated him. As reportedly Jaehwan’s best friend, he should be allowed to know that something. Something that seemed so tragic from the bits and pieces he had been exposed to. Hakyeon wanted to help that Jaehwan with that something. However tragic it may be. Even if Hakyeon could not help much, he wanted to try. He did not know how to approach the subject though.

“Okay then,” Hakyeon put on a face of determination and decided to not beat around a bush anymore, “Tell me about your soul mate.” Okay, maybe beat around it a little bit.
Jaehwan looked at him and stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. He then scoffed and shrugged, “What is there to tell though?”
“Your soul mate, Lee Jaehwan,” Hakyeon looked at him, “What do you mean "what is there to tell?" There should be so much to tell about your soul mate.”
Jaehwan shrugged, “He’s a traveler.”
“I know,” Hakyeon frowned, “You’ve mentioned it before. Other things. Like…” Hakyeon looked down, “Gosh, I don’t even know his name!” Jaehwan said nothing at that. He only stared down at his own lap. Hakyeon scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Wow, makes it seem like you never had one in the first place,” He muttered it as a joke. After the events of yesterday, Hakyeon was sure Jaehwan had a soul mate.
Still, Jaehwan became very defensive. “Hey!” He hit Hakyeon’s back, “Of course I have one.”
“Oh, yeah?” Hakyeon raised a brow and looked at Jaehwan. Even if he knew, he might as well humor Jaehwan. “Let’s prove it,” He grabbed his shirt, “What’s the color of my shirt?”

Jaehwan’s silence destroyed Hakyeon’s confidence. He stared intently at the shirt before staring back at Hakyeon. “Come on, Hakyeon hyung,” Jaehwan said, “You should know the color of your own shirt.”
“I do,” Hakyeon swallowed, “But do you?” Of course he knew. He was supposed to know.

Jaehwan, though, stayed quiet again. Staring at the shirt. “I will keep asking until you te-”
“Orange,” Jaehwan interrupted Hakyeon. “Very light, almost yellow.” Hakyeon stared at Jaehwan with wide eyes.

How could a light blue shirt be confused with orange? Hakyeon slowly let go of his shirt, “Wrong…” Suddenly, he felt like Jaehwan had been lying to him all these time. Did he really make up everything? Hakyeon felt betrayed. Jaehwan cursed under his breath. “Y-You can’t see?” Hakyeon asked tentatively. Jaehwan did not answer. “You’ve been lying to me?” Jaehwan stayed silent once again. Hakyeon felt anger boiling inside of him. “What the hell, Lee Jaehwan?” Hakyeon gritted behind his teeth. His hands balled into fist, “Why the hell? You can’t just lie like that?!” Hakyeon ran a hand through his hair and stood up to pace around the room.

Why? Why? Why? That was the question in Hakyeon’s head. Why would Jaehwan lie to him? What was his intention? He made himself as someone who found his soul mate? Why would he do that? Hakyeon tried to cool off, tried to look for the answers of question he could not answer himself.

“I could see.”

Hakyeon snapped from his own thoughts and stared at Jaehwan, “What?”

Jaehwan sighed and looked at the ceiling. “I could see… three years ago,” He repeated in the same soft tone.

At that moment, Hakyeon remembered an important part of last night’s rants. One that now might be making a bit more sense, but he still
