Arrived
In Full ColorsPreparing the actual date took so time, too, but it was worth it. Hakyeon had time with only Taekwoon, with very little worry. It had been something he had wanted for a really long time. Hakyeon was ready for this trip. Even on the flight there, Hakyeon felt little pieces of him be liberated. Worries were disappearing, and Hakyeon truly felt this weekend was going to be amazing.
Hakyeon never told Jaehwan when he was coming. On the day everything was set and ready, Hakyeon almost called Jaehwan to let him know he finally had the date that he was coming but later decided against it. Hakyeon liked surprising Jaehwan. Jaehwan would definitely get a big surprise when he sees Hakyeon walking through the front doors of the hotel. It was perfect when Hakyeon imagined it. It was better than talking to Jaehwan about it, too. He still felt a little estranged from Jaehwan. That surprise could help fix whatever problem Hakyeon thought they had.
That surprise, though, did not work how Hakyeon wanted it to work.
Hakyeon spent the entire ride from the airport to the hotel informing Taekwoon about Jaehwan and about what they were going to do during the weekend, but mostly about Jaehwan. Hakyeon was excited to introduce the two of the most important people in his life to each other. He wanted them to get along, or to at least be in good terms.
As they got closer to the hotel, Hakyeon became more excited. He missed Jaehwan, the dear person that he only meets in person every time there is a blue moon. He wished to talk to Jaehwan more this weekend, but this weekend was for Taekwoon and him. Jaehwan might actually be happy to finally be able to work undisturbed.
When they entered the hotel, Hakyeon looked at every receptionist in the receptionist counter and saw that Jaehwan was not there. “What is this?” Hakyeon scratched the back of his head and gave a turn around the lobby. Maybe Jaehwan was talking to someone around the lobby, but that was apparently not the case.
“What is it?” Taekwoon put a hand on his shoulder.
Hakyeon kept looking around, “I can’t find Jaehwan.” He took out his phone. He had no choice but to call the younger. He dialled his number and put the phone to his ear, “I wonder where he is…” He sighed.
It took a few rings for Jaehwan to answer. “Hello?” Jaehwan answered brightly.
“Jaehwanie!” Hakyeon turned to Taekwoon, “I was wondering what you were doing right now.” Hakyeon was going to play it cool. He was going to find out Jaehwan’s location and maybe surprise him there. It all depends where Jaehwan is.
“I’m at work,” Jaehwan answered simply.
Hakyeon frowned. Jaehwan was lying? Jaehwan lied? Hakyeon turned back to the receptionist area just in case he missed Jaehwan the first time he looked. Jaehwan was not there. “Really?” Hakyeon clicked his tongue.
“Um… yeah, why?” Was there a hint of nervousness on Jaehwan’s voice? Hakyeon could not tell.
“Because I am currently at the lobby of the Jeju Jung Hotel and I do not see a sign of you,” Forget being cool. Hakyeon wanted to know why Jaehwan was lying. He suspected everything now.
“Really?” Jaehwan asked in surprise. At least he was surprised. Hakyeon did want to surprise him.
“Yeah,” Hakyeon tried to cross his arms, but it was difficult when he was holding the phone.
Jaehwan laugh, “Well, there’s a reason for that.” He had on his mischievous tone. Hakyeon did not like it.
