Luhan was pumped. The managers had, for their 'team building' day, taken them to a empty park where a bunch of activities had been decided. The groups had been split into Hyungs v.s. Dongsaengs. It was basically the six oldest against the six youngest. The hyungs team (who had named themselves Chicken courtesy of Kris) was composed of Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Suho, Lay and surprisingly, Baekhyun. Luhan hadn't known that Baekhyun was that old. The dongsaengs team (who had named themselves Yehet courtesy of Sehun) had Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Tao, Kai and Sehun. The team captains were Luhan and Chanyeol.

They had even been given uniforms to wear- red sportswear for Team Chicken and blue for Team Yehet. They had changed quickly and were now waiting for the managers to tell them what they would be doing. Luhan was standing next to Xiumin. Joongchan cleared his throat. "Listen up." He spoke up and almost immediately, everyone shut up. "Okay. So, first game that we have decided is a relay. You see that white line all the way there? That's 20 metres and is howw far you will have to run. You will be begin by the oldest member of the team carrying the second oldest. The second oldest will then carry the third oldest. The third oldest will carry the fourth oldest and so on. The youngest member of each team will then will have to then run a lap around the cones to finish." Chanwan explained clearly.

Chen began to whine almost immediately, insisting there was no way he could carry Chanyeol. He was followed by D.O. who pointed out the difference in the height between him and Tao, saying it was impossible. Luhan nudged Xiumin. "That means you have to carry me, huh? Sweet." He breathed out. Xiumin turned to him with a confused look. "Luhan, that's not important. Don't you realize? You have to carry Kris." Xiumin told him. Luhan's eyes widened in realization. "No way. How am I- how? What?" He asked in disbelief. "This isn't fair!" He yelled. The managers shrugged. "It's the rules." Joongchan shrugged. the rules, Luhan wanted to say. Instead he said: "Isn't that a bit unreasonable?"

"No. It is definitely possible." Chanwan said. "Also, the team who wins this will have an advantage in the next game." He added. Chen and D.O. still looked annoyed and Luhan definitely felt annoyance as well, but they reluctantly agreed. "Let's get this over with." Chen grumbled. D.O. sighed, shaking his head as he glanced at Tao. Kris had a look of disgust on his face. "This is going to be difficult." Suho commented. Xiumin clapped his hands. "I'm sure we'll be able to do it." He said cheerfully.

Luhan nodded in agreement. “I’m sure we’ll be able to do it, after all, the only exchange that will be difficult is me and Kris. But, I’m strong! I can do it!” He said firmly. Kris nodded. “It’ll be fine. I’m not that heavy.” Kris’s voice had just a hint of hurt. Suho seemed to sense it as well. “Don’t worry Kris! You’re not fat! It’s just, you’re tall, way too tall for Luhan.” Suho pacified. Luhan didn’t know whether he should feel annoyed (he had been basically called short!) but Suho and him were basically the same when it came to height so..?

He decided to dismiss the thoughts when the managers called them to get to the starting line. He walked to the area with Xiumin. “Hey, you think you’ll be fine with me on your back?” He asked Xiumin casually. After all, it was usually Luhan who carried the other boy. Xiumin rolled his eyes playfully. “I’m stronger than I look; stronger than you at least.” Xiumin added patronizingly. Luhan gasped. “No way- I’m stronger!” He protested. Xiumin smirked. “You want to arm wrestle?” He asked Luhan mischievously. Luhan shook his head, feeling his cheeks flush slightly. The boy was better at everyone in EXO at arm wrestling. “This isn’t about arm wrestling though.” He said weakly in defence. Xiumin just laughed.

When they reached the start line, Chanwan spoke up. “Okay, 4 members will be on this side and 2 on the other side from each team. It will be based on the order of your age.” Chanwan announced. Luhan looked at his team and tried to figure out who was supposed to be on the other side. He couldn’t. “Wait, so if I have to go on that side.. then.. uh… Kris?... and..uh..” He trailed off blushing. Suho smiled endearingly. “Kris and Lay need to be on the other side. The rest of us will be here.” Suho provided helpfully. “Yup! That’s right!” Luhan said cheerfully. Baekhyun and Lay both began to giggle. “Our leader is certainly a bright one.” Baekhyun commented offhandedly. Lay nodded in agreement. Luhan sighed with an embarrassed smile on his face.

Kris and Lay soon had to leave, going to the other side with D.O. and Kai. D.O. looked strangely competitive, discussing ‘strategies’ with Kai. “Okay, you guys! Get ready- get on the first players backs now!” Chanwan ordered once everyone was in place. Joongchan from the other side gave a thumbs up to signal that side being ready. Xiumin and Chen simultaneously crouched down. Luhan quickly got onto Xiumin’s back. He wrapped his arms around the boy’s neck and his legs around the boy’s waist. Xiumin got up stably. At this close proximity, Luhan could smell Xiumin’s hair. And oh god, it was amazing. If only Luhan could-No. Wait. He had to focus. They had to win.

From next to them, Chen was almost falling over with Chanyeol on his back. “Can we begin quickly?” Chen pleaded. “I don’t think I can hold on for too long.” Chanwan nodded. “On your marks.” He announced. Xiumin tensed. “Get set.” Luhan took a big breath. “Go!” At that word, Xiumin and Chen both ran forward. Chen was yelling the entire time, cursing Chanyeol colourfully. Xiumin, in comparison, was silent as he focused on running. Soon, he overtook Chen. Luhan couldn’t really see much as they shot across the field, his vision was shaky as he bounced up and down on Xiumin’s back (AN: LOL). “Keep on going!” He managed to yell out. Xiumin gave no reply but his sudden increase in speed showed Luhan that he had heard.

They reached the other side quickly and Xiumin sat down on the grass. Luhan quickly got off him and was pushed down by Kris and Lay, both of them telling him to hurry up. Luhan crouched down and Kris got on. The boy clung to Luhan like a koala, probably trying to make himself as small as possible in order to help Luhan but it just made things worse. His weight made Luhan lean forwards as he began to run (stumble) to the other side. Thank god they were still ahead, Luhan thought. Chen and Chanyeol had just managed to reach the other side, judging from the yells from D.O. to hurry up.

“Hurry up!” Kris shouted at him. “I’m trying, you ing !” He yelled back in Mandarin. And he was trying, moving as fast as possible with the giant on his back. They had just reached the halfway point when Chanyeol and D.O. caught up with them. Chanyeol already had long legs and with D.O., one of the smallest members, he didn’t even have to work that hard. It was unfair, especially when the tall boy managed to overtake Luhan. Luhan tried desperately to catch up to them but he just couldn’t. He was panting by the time he reached the other side. He collapsed on the floor and Kris quickly got off. He didn’t hear anything but his ragged breathing and his erratic heartbeat as he lay on the floor, completely exhausted. He focused on getting his breath back, staring at the sky. He felt someone clutch his shoulder and pull him up. He looked up to see Baekhyun. “Good job hyung- you did really well! There was only a meter gap or so.” Baekhyun reassured. “Thanks.” Luhan managed to say.

He glanced at the race. Kris and Suho, as expected, were leading. However, surprisingly, Tao and D.O. were only a little bit behind. “Why is he so slow?” Luhan asked Baekhyun, pointing at Kris. “He’s carrying Suho, the boy isn’t exactly heavy. And he also has longer legs!” Luhan added. Baekhyun shrugged, watching the game intensely. “If this keeps up though, we won’t be able to win. No matter how much Suho hyung tries, I don’t think he will be able to beat Tao.” Baekhyun thought out loud. Luhan bit his lip. “That’s true.” He said softly before getting up. Both teams had reached the other end and were exchanging players.

Both teams began at the exact same time. However, Tao (with Kai on his back) quickly beat Suho (with Lay on his back), sprinting ahead. Suho tried his best obviously, but there was still a two meter gap between the teams when Tao reached the other side, having been the fastest from all of them. Sehun quickly got on Kai’s back and they were off. Suho reached just as the two took off. Lay quickly got off and crouched down. Baekhyun jumped on. Lay sprinted away without a word. Suho was on the floor, wheezing and clutching his heart. He looked really ugly. Luhan patted his shoulder. “You did good Joonmyun.” He said sincerely. Suho nodded and got up to watch, still panting.

Kai and Sehun had reached the other end already and Sehun was just getting off Kai’s back. Lay and Baekhyun got to the other side when Sehun had already begun to groan. Luhan sighed. Baekhyun got off and began to run, but by then, Sehun had reached the halfway point. “Oh .” Luhan swore in Mandarin. Suho groaned, putting his head in his hands. They had lost. As Sehun crossed the finish line and promptly yelled “Yehet!” the rest of the members came to the starting line. Luhan glanced at Xiumin who upon seeing that they had lost, replaced his concerned look with a sad pout and a deep sigh. Luhan didn’t like the look of sadness and disappointment at all.

He turned to Suho. “We have to win the next game.”
