Luhan woke up to Tao’s scream. He shot up in his bed, still half asleep and confused. He rubbed his eyes as he glanced around blearily. He found the source of the scream seated next to Sehun as they both played video games. “It’s too early for this .” Luhan complained to them. Sehun and Tao noticed him, turning around simultaneously. “Oh, Luhan-ge, did I wake you up?” Tao asked obliviously. Luhan glared at him. “Yes, Zitao, you did.” He replied in a mocking tone. Sehun slapped the boy’s arm. “Ya, Tao! I told you to be quieter!” Sehun scolded.

Tao had the decency to blush as he rubbed his arm sheepishly. “Sorry.” The boy said in a pitiful tone. Luhan collapsed back onto the bed. “What’s the time?” He mumbled, his voice muffled from the pillows. Sehun cocked his head. “What?” The boy asked. “What’s the time?” Luhan asked, his voice louder than before. “Oh, 8:36.” Sehun informed him. “Why the are you guys awake so early?” Luhan whined. “We wanted to play a few games before Chanyeol and Baekhyun hogged the TV for their stupid tournament. We moved the TV here into this room.” Sehun said happily.

Luhan’s head shot up as he stared at the TV. “You two-” He pointed at them in shock. The two maknaes stared back at him expectantly. “-are ing crazy.” Luhan finished eloquently before putting his head onto the pillow again. Tao and Sehun just shrugged him off, going back to the muted video game. Luhan drifted into a daze, half-asleep and half-awake as he wondered what they were going to be doing today.

Yesterday, they had done community service. They went to an orphanage and gave them food while the cameras filmed them, capturing the scene to use for later. Luhan had at first, tried to be serious and had sincerely tried to be kind to the kids. His patience however, was destroyed by this one kid who kept on shooting water at Luhan with a stupid water gun. He had been struggling to keep his calm after using the towel given to him by the staff in order to wipe the water away when the kid had thrown a rubber ducky at Luhan’s face before calling him a girl. Luhan couldn’t stand it when his masculinity was questioned and the duck had hurt. He was going to throttle the idiotic kid. Thankfully, though, Lay, sensing his anger, took the boy away to another section before Luhan could erupt. Xiumin and Suho had been quickly called over to calm him down with promises of coffee or bubble tea later.

It hadn’t been all bad though, Xiumin had looked absolutely adorable when he was helping one of the kids with his food. The boy was the epitome of a parent; he was calm, patient and smart. Luhan, on the other hand, was stubborn, hot-headed and impatient. Luhan sighed, feeling slightly depressed. The more the thought about it, the more he realized how different he and Xiumin really were. He dispelled these thoughts from his head as he tried to remember what they were supposed to be doing today. Thursday…what was on Thursday again?

Ah yes, shopping. Luhan’s sleepy brain recalled what the managers had said yesterday just before they left. They would be going incognito and were told to wear suitable wear (sunglasses, masks; the usual) and to be ready by mid-afternoon. Luhan and Xiumin had stayed up talking until 2am and had finally trudged to their own rooms, too tired for anything but chaste pecks on each other’s lips before they slept.

So far, the week had been a big disappointment. Loads of bad things had happened and the dates weren’t exactly going as Luhan had wanted; there had been loads of setbacks. But that didn’t matter. Today was a new day and Luhan would have an amazing date today! One without Lay’s interference or Luhan’s fear of heights. One without whisks and burnt cake. One without rubber duckies and threats to his masculinity. Today was going to be perfect. Luhan would make sure it was. But first, he was going to sleep a bit more.

The second time he woke up, it was 11:52. He felt awake and much more energized as he got out of bed and quickly set it. The two maknaes had disappeared from the room and so had the TV. Luhan didn’t really want to know what had happened. He walked out of the room, intending to go for a shower. However, he was dismayed (but not surprised) to see the bathroom already occupied. By the passionate singing that was coming from inside, Luhan got a pretty good idea of who it was. “Joonmyun! Hurry up!” He banged on the door. He heard the singing stop before an awkward “Okay.” Luhan shook his head and decided that he might as well eat breakfast first.

Walking downstairs (still with his towel) he saw that the majority of the members were awake. Sehun, Tao, Baekhyun and Chanyeol were split into two teams (maknaes v.s. beagles) and were playing yet another video game. It seemed like the only thing that they did was play video games and take selfies. D.O., Xiumin and Lay were sitting on the dining table with cups of coffee.

Luhan didn’t even have to think before he headed towards the group at the dining table. The three boys glanced up at his arrival but Luhan was only looking at Xiumin. The boy smiled when they had eye contact, a warm, gummy smile.

He sat down next to Xiumin. “Why do you have a towel?” D.O. asked bluntly, noting the Mickey mouse towel still clutched in Luhan’s hand. “Good morning to you too.” Luhan said sarcastically as he grabbed Xiumin’s cup of coffee and took a sip from it. It was warm and tasty. “Hey.” Xiumin said, but it was playful and relaxed.

Luhan smiled at him. “It’s only to make my breath slightly bearable.” He said, setting the cup down and pulling Xiumin in for a short but passionate kiss. When they broke apart, Xiumin was blushing slightly. “I would have kissed you with your morning breath anyway.” Xiumin mumbled truthfully before drinking his cup of coffee again. “Aigoo, you two are adorable.” Lay cooed slightly. Luhan and Xiumin grinned at him. “I find it kind of disgusting, to be honest.” D.O. interjected.

Luhan turned to Xiumin. “And this is why Yixing is my best friend rather than Kyungsoo.” He said to the boy. Xiumin smacked him playfully. “Hey, don’t insult him. He’s just upset that Kim Kai isn’t awake yet to please him.” Xiumin explained. “Please him?” Luhan asked, slightly shocked by the choice of words. “You heard me.” Xiumin shrugged, a smirk on his face. D.O.’s face flushed. “Hyung, I told you. There is nothing going on between us!” D.O. insisted. Lay looked confused. “Wait, did Jongin buy Kyungsoo a gift or something to please him?” Lay asked innocently. Luhan and Xiumin facepalmed, perfectly synchronized.

“Hyung. What are you…? You know what, I’m going to my room.” D.O. said, standing up and leaving his empty coffee mug to be picked up by someone else as he walked to his room, all the while shaking his head about being surrounded by idiots. Lay’s look of confusion was replaced by a look of interest. “So, have they had yet?” He asked Xiumin. Luhan’s eyes widened. “Yixing? I thought you- but just now-” Luhan shook his head in frustration. Xiumin laughed. “No, as far as I know. But they act so couple-like. I think they might be together or in the stages of getting into a relationship.” Xiumin thought out loud. Lay nodded understandingly.

“Why do we have so many gay people in our group?” Lay asked suddenly. Xiumin who had just taken a sip of coffee almost choked on the abrupt words and Luhan thumped his back as the boy coughed. “Dude, don’t make me regret calling you my best friend.” Luhan warned the boy. Xiumin laughed slightly. “I thought I was your best friend.” Xiumin said. Luhan opened his mouth. “You are.” He said. Lay snorted. “We can’t both be your best friends. Besides, you kiss and do weird stuff in your bedrooms together. You don’t do that with me.” Lay said before frantically adding- “I don’t want you to do anything with me in that way, just saying!” Luhan nodded as he began to panic, thinking of what to say. He didn’t want to hurt either of them. “You’re both my best friends, but uh, I don’t, uh..” He trailed off when Lay and Xiumin began to laugh.

“Dude, chill.” Lay teased. “We’re just joking with you.” Xiumin reassured. Luhan pouted. “That’s so not cool.” He said. He was broken off when a ready Suho walked down the stairs and reached them. “I’m done.” The leader said, smiling cheerfully. Luhan nodded. “I guess I’ll go-” He was interrupted by Xiumin. “Actually, I’ve been waiting longer. There’s a line, you know.” Xiumin said a bit sassily. “What?” Luhan asked dumbly as the boy walked away, going up the stairs. Lay and Suho glanced at him with amusement. Luhan ran after Xiumin.

Luhan followed the boy into his room, all the time begging the boy to let him shower first. Xiumin just rolled his eyes. “It’s not even that big of a deal. I’ll only be 15 minutes.” Xiumin said as he grabbed a towel from his room before turning to leave. He was stopped by Luhan standing in front of him. “Please, Xiumin.” Luhan pleaded once more. Xiumin shook his head. “I’ve been waiting for some time now. Before Suho, there was D.O. as well. I waited for both of them!” Xiumin said in response. The boy walked around Luhan, walking to the door.

Luhan felt panicked, and when he panicked, he said some stupid things. This was one of the times. “Let’s shower together!” The words flew from Luhan’s mouth before he could even think about what he was saying. Xiumin had his hand on the handle and had frozen at the words. Luhan flushed. “Uh, n-never mind! I didn’t really-” “Fine.” The simple word, spoken by Xiumin was confident and filled with purpose.

“Fine?” Luhan asked uncertainly. Xiumin turned around to face him. He had a smirk on his face. “Fine.” He repeated. “Fine. Oh, Fine! Fine! Yeah, uh, fine!” Luhan rambled a bit. Xiumin laughed and leaning closer, gave him a kiss on the lips, really just a teasing brush between their lips. “Come on.” He said and for once, it was Xiumin who grabbed Luhan’s hand and led him to the bathroom. It was Xiumin who then, kissed Luhan with a passion that made Luhan feel dizzy and exhilarated at the same time. It was Xiumin, who made Luhan moan and squirm under him. The older boy was dominant, strong and y. It was so cool.
