Our Story

It had been a month since their night together. A month since they had kissed. It didn't feel like a month though, with all the schedules and trainings they had to go to as well as the interviews and concerts. But Xiumin was glad about their busy schedule. It gave him time to think about what Luhan had said. Xiumin wasn't sure how serious Luhan was about leaving EXO but it had scared him.

Luhan had always been there. Wherever Xiumin would go, Luhan would be there with him. It was something which Xiumin had found comfort in. He was used to it. And the thought that one day, he would wake up to no Luhan, terrified him more than he anticipated. Even when they were fighting and not talking to each other, Xiumin could still see Luhan.

But if he left, what could Xiumin do then?

~

They were onstage, having just performed. They were doing their introductions. Xiumin was standing next to Luhan. When it was his turn, Xiumin spoke loudly into the microphone. Hello, I'm EXO's Xiumin." He called out. The fans responded with cheers. Xiumin passed the microphone to Luhan. "Hello, I'm EXO's Luhan!" Luhan called out cheerfully. The fans cheered again. Xiumin smiled. "Good job!" He spoke into Luhan's ear quickly. Luhan turned to him, a look of surprise on his face at Xiumin's compliment. Xiumin blushed a bit. He knew it wasn't exactly like him to initiate their contact or to whisper into the other boy's ear, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to cherish these moments, who knew when they would be his last.

Luhan gave a suspicious but grateful smile. "Thanks?" He replied. Xiumin turned away, feeling slightly embarrassed from his outburst. Stupid Minseok, he thought.

~

"No way." Xiumin deadpanned. Tao went on his knees. "Please hyung! Please???" The young boy said from his knees. "I told you I don't like sharing." Xiumin insisted. Tao pouted. "Just once." The boy pleaded. Xiumin sighed. "Zitao." He said, crossing his arms. "Minseokkie hyung." Tao said in a babyish voice. They were in Xiumin's room. The boy wanted to borrow Xiumin's favourite shoes.

Xiumin sighed. He was thinking of a way to get the boy to stop when a knock came on the door and Luhan walked in, his eyes on his phone. "Hey, I was wondering if you knew where my shirt was-" The boy glanced at the scene and shut up. "What are you two doing?" He asked. "I just want to borrow shoes! He won't even let me borrow a dumb pair of shoes!" Tao said dramatically, waving his arms around. Xiumin rolled his eyes. "Dumb? They're worth more than the amount of hair product in your hair. And that's a lot!" Xiumin said sassily, crossing his arms. Tao got up, ignoring the previous statement. "Hyung, please." The boy asked once again. Luhan laughed. "Just lend it to him, Baozi." Xiumin froze. It had been months since he'd heard the silly nickname. The way it rolled of Luhan's tongue reminded him of all the moments together. He may never call me that again, Xiumin thought.

"OK. Take them." Xiumin said distractedly. Tao let out a whoop and thanked Xiumin fervently before leaving with the shoes in his hands. Xiumin sighed. Luhan gazed at him curiously. "Are you alright, Minseok?" Luhan asked. Xiumin turned to face the boy. "Yeah, just tired." Xiumin whispered. He faked a yawn. Luhan smiled. "You should take a nap or something. I mean, we have some time before the dance practice." Luhan added kindly. Xiumin smiled. "I should." He agreed.

Luhan nodded. "Well, I guess I'll go. I don't even remember why I came here in the first place, to be honest." Luhan said a bit sheepishly. "You're so dumb." Xiumin said affectionately. Luhan giggled. "Yeah." The boy turned to leave. Staring at his retreating back, Xiumin's smile disappeared. Don't leave. Before he understood himself, he was behind Luhan; giving the boy a back hug. "Minseok, what are you doing?" Luhan asked, frozen in place. "Don't go." Xiumin said, his voice muffled from the hug. Luhan turned around, his hands holding Xiumin's arms. "The manager's downstairs." The boy said stupidly. " him." Xiumin said bitterly. Luhan cocked his head. "I don't get you." He said simply. "Every time I tried to approach you, you would use the manager as an excuse. What happened now?" Luhan asked, his voice a bit frustrated.

Xiumin bit his lip. "You said you were going to leave. I don't want you to leave." Xiumin said. Luhan froze. "So that's what this is about?" The boy asked. Xiumin glanced up at him. "I never really thought about life without you before. I don't want to be without you. Ever." Xiumin said sincerely. "And I'm not going to let a stupid manager get in the way." He finished.

Luhan kissed him in response. "About time."

Later, when they entered the living room, the manager glanced up. "Where have you two been?" the man asked. "We're going out for coffee." Xiumin responded. The manager got up. "Together?" He asked. "Yes, of course." Xiumin said, faking a surprised tone. The manager gazed at them with shock. "You can't." He said dumbly. "We're going as friends, for heaven's sake." Luhan rolled his eyes like a diva. The manager spluttered. "Bull. I'll come along then." He said quickly. Kris stepped up. "But you have to go with D.O. for his drama filming, right?" The tall boy smirked. The manager glared at the taller boy. D.O. nodded. "I'm ready. We should go now." The boy said, his voice apathic but the gleam in his eyes knowing and mischievious.

The manager shook his head. "No way." He said, sounding childish. "Do your job." D.O. cut in, his glare making the manager step back a bit. Yes, Kyungsoo, release Satansoo.

~

"Friends, my ." Xiumin giggled. Luhan nuzzled his neck as they stood in the elevator, going down to the lobby. "You have a nice ." Luhan mumbled. Xiumin blushed. "Stop it." Xiumin said but was betrayed by the happy tone of his voice. Luhan grinned. "What should we drink today?" the boy asked dramatically as they stepped out of the elevator door, their hands held. "Americano?" Xiumin asked. Luhan nodded. "I was thinking the same thing." The boy admitted, grabbing Xiumin's hand as they walked to the coffee shop in SM.

When they reached it, they were surprised to see Tao and Sehun at a table already, drinking caramel macchiatos. Xiumin raised an eyebrow at Luhan who smirked in response. They both walked to the two boys. "What are you two doing here?" Luhan asked. Tao jumped in fright. "What the heck Luhan gege? Don't scare me like that!" Tao fumed. Sehun looked shocked as well but managed to get it under control quickly. "We're just having coffee?" Sehun asked, trying to sound nonchalant. "Hmm, it looks like a date to me." Xiumin commented absentmindedly. Sehun and Tao's eyes widened simultaneously and they replied at the same time. "No way!"

Luhan and Xiumin burst into laughter. "Hyung, we're not gay." Sehun whisper shouted. Tao nodded frantically in agreement. "Hmm, I'm sure they're not gay Lu-ge." Xiumin said to Luhan. Luhan grinned mischeiveiously. "Yeah. We should leave them for their friendly outing." Luhan agreed. Tao groaned in frustration, putting his head in his hands. Sehun glanced at them suspiciously. "Wait, why are you two together?" the boy asked innocently.

"We're on a coffee trip." Xiumin said, smiling softly. Tao's head shot up. "I can't believe you accused us of going on a date when you two are on one yourselves. Talk about hypocritical." Tao scoffed in disgust. Xiumin leaned into Tao. "Ah, but we admitted we're gay." Xiumin said cheekily. Tao flushed. "But I'm really not!" The boy said angrily, throwing his hands in the air. Sehun looked confused. "Wait, does that mean you guys are together again?" Sehun asked, scratching his chin in confusion, thinking deeply. Tao sighed in exasperation. "They're obviously together! Oh my god, Sehun. You're so thick." Tao insulted. "Ya! Says you, you're the one who mistook Heechul sunbaenim for a girl!" Sehun threw back sassily. Tao flushed. "It's not my fault he looks like a girl! He also had long hair, what was I supposed to think?" Tao said, cringing at the memory.

Xiumin felt a nudge and glanced up to see Luhan. "Let's go." the boy mouthed at him. Xiumin nodded, and they left holding hands, leaving the two bickering straight maknaes to fend for themselves.

~

The coffee date was amazing. They talked like nothing had happened and Xiumin felt carefree. He almost forgot the stress of the manager. He almost forgot Luhan's wish to leave EXO. He almost forgot the pressure of the schedule and dance practice they had in half an hour. Everything went to the back of his mind in that moment as Luhan imitated Chen, pretending to be a camel and Xiumin felt to the floor laughing. When the waitress came to them, worried that Xiumin was having a seizure from the amount of laughing he was doing, they just laughed harder. The waitress, mumbling about stress making idols go crazy.

It was a familiar scene, the two of them drinking coffee whilst taking freely about everything and anything. Here in the SM building as well, they had no qualms over a fangirl approaching them or being followed. It was just the two of them and Xiumin loved it.

As they left, a text from Suho reminding them about their dance practice, Xiumin couldn't help but glance once more at their discarded cups, left on the table. Is this the last time?

~

They did it all. They kissed, flirted and hugged again. The other boys helped a lot, grabbing the manager's attention. The beagle line kept the man occupied with tricks and pranks, unleashing their wild side. Lay conveniently got lost in different areas around the building and called the manager to pick him up. The maknaes acted brattier, peppering the Manager with foolish requests and doing aegyo. The members went out of their way to help Luhan and Xiumin get those moments of privacy. Even though Kai probably did want to eat the 4 chickens he had ordered at 3 am in the morning.

Xiumin and Luhan seemed to fall in love again and again, every day another adventure for them.

Still, Xiumin couldn't help but gaze at the boy and wonder:

Are you still going to leave?

~~~
HORRIBLE OMG THIS WAS SO BAD AND RUSHED AND UGH
I'm so so so sorry; like genuinely sorry about this chapter. I'm very tired and have loads of work to do so I was doing this between my maths and history homework so it's really messed up.
Sorry once again.
But, on the other hand, thank you for the sweet comments and for subcribing, if you have. It means a lot!
Bye!
Chapter 80: I finally completed your story. (I wanted to finish it way much earlier... >_>) And I really have to say that your story was incredible. The whole story seemed so realistic and I really liked they way you took your time with establishing the relationship between Xiumin and Luhan. Also all the dialogues, movements or gestures from the characters seemed so real, I felt like actually beeing in EXO's dorm viewing a movie while standing on the set myself and seeing everything from such a closeness, because the way you wrote I could really imagine every scene so well and it was such a pleasure to read your story, because you used a wide range of vocabulary and used good terms.
Luhan was so sweet in this story, I am happy that you didn't make him the bad guy and Xiumin and him somehow managed to move on their own way. They deserved so much better.
Not only had Kris's leave a huge impact on the whole group (btw love it, that you showed every single member at that part.), but also Xiumin's sadness at the end, not beeing able to let out his emotions, not wanting to selfish rubs off on the reader as well.
I don't even know how to express all what I am feeling and how happy I am to have read this story. It was the fluffiest of fluff, as romatic as love poem and yet sad and realistic.
Just like the two of them I won't forget. I will come back and read your story again.
I cannot help but hope for them to find happiness.
